  • NC Wildlife Federation hosts Steve Warner for an exploration of the history and allure of Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge, located on the outer banks of North Carolina in the northern end of Hatteras Island. This refuge is situated on a typical southeastern United States barrier island system with ocean beach, dune, brackish ponds, and marsh communities dissected by tidal creeks containing submerged aquatic vegetation.
Steven Warner is a Visitor Services Specialist and Education Program Coordinator for the USFWS. Steven is preparing and delivering educational and outreach programs for both Alligator River and Pea Island NWR. Previously, he has worked in a variety of education and instruction positions, from instructor for the Coast Guard to Education Specialist at the Nauticus Naval museum in Norfolk, Virginia.
