Thank you for this message. I appreciate what was said about the different areas where we feel pressed. I find that since Covid (and all that's happened alongside it) it's been more difficult to connect with people. Just sharing a hello and a smile seems difficult as we were all behind masks for so long while at the same time being suspicuous of each other either for spreading Covid or being on the "other side" of an important hot button issue (which aren't issues at all but distractions from the real problem which is human sin). I miss the American spirit in this way. Although when you find it now, you cherish it more. As a mom, I also mourn for my kids and the almost complete loss of innocence we've experienced in society. We are all having our emotions regulated and ideas formed by computer technology now, and the people designing these things are often Godless at worst or virtue signaling at best. That's what I feel most suffocated by: what's going to happen to my kids? It's an interesting dynamic learning to release that responsibility completely to God. It's a tricky one to navigate balancing responsibilities as a parent with God's sovereign plan. We can only do so much as parents but it often doesn't seem good enough. Lots of weight pressing down all the time.
