    The hardest popularly known high school math exam in India is ISI, if you consider olympiads its INMO. Also,JEE has 3 subjects so technically it isn't a math exam. This year, Math was easiest, you can try Jee 2016/19/22. Math of those years of Jee advanced peaked, would be fun for math enthusiast like you.

    There is another way to solve the differential equation at first problem:
    10x⁹f(x) - x¹⁰f'(x) = 9x⁸
    Divide both sides to 10x²⁰:
    f(x)/x¹¹ - f'(x)/10x¹⁰ = 9/10x¹²
    Now notice that
    LHS = [f(x)/-10x¹⁰]'
    Hence:
    [f(x)/-10x¹⁰]' = 9/10x¹²
    İntegrate both sides:
    f(x)/-10x¹⁰ = -9/110x¹¹ + c
    f(x) = 9/11x + a.x¹⁰
    Use f(1) = 2 :
    2 = 9/11 + a hence a=13/11
    That implies:
    f(x) = 9/11x + 13x¹⁰/11

      At the second line I found out:
      dividing by 10x⁹ the equation turns:
      f(x) - xf'(x)/10 = 9/10x²
      10f(x) - xf'(x)/10 = 9/10x²
      If we just divide 10 we find it similar to Lagrange's MVT which is f(x) - f(0) = xf'(x) just that the coefficients are different. 😅

      You just doing what you do acts as an inspiration for me to keep going.
      As an older fella who had a rotten experience learning maths, as a kid. I wanted to give it another go on my own terms. I was 'roughly' at an early 'A' level standard in my formal schooling. Managed to muddle through the first year of an engineering (electrical & electronic) degree, that I never completed, in my youth. Never looked at maths since, until recently.

    Great Video - I tried solving a JEE question after 3.5 decades, and realized how rusty I was... For Q1, I used an alternate method. I assumed Y=(A/x+BX^10) as all 4 choices were of this form, and substituted into the equation, applied L'Hopital's rule, to get A=9/11. That found choice (B) as the solution. Much faster. I had forgotten all about the integrating factor till I saw your video and remembered my maths teacher drilling it into our heads!!
    In the second Q, X is in the second quadrant, and hence Sin X was +ve, and that is why we take the +ve root for A - thought it is important for the student to recognize this.
    In the 3rd Q, it is easy if you recognize (AXB).C is just the determinant of ((Ax, Ay, Az), (Bx, By, Bz), (Cx, Cy, Cz)). This is also the test if 3 vectors are coplanar.

      ingenius solution to the first one, subbing it that way is so much quicker. i tried cheesing it but couldnt find the right way and had to do it the lengthy way while i was attempting that q. I also didnt notice the negative sign and didnt realise there was a negative sign there until i read your comment, but how do u tell if its in the second or fourth quadrant?

    • @pradeepsekar
      @pradeepsekar 17 дней назад +2

      @yajasterian the question specifies that X is between pi/2 and pi, and hence it is in the second quadrant.

    I suppose for the third problem where you are doing (OPxOQ ).OR=0 , the vector , OP X OQ is perpendicular to both OP and OP and since (OPxOQ ).OR=0 , OP X OQ is also perpendicular to OR , here OP X OQ is perpendicular to 3 vector in 3D , it can only be possible if OP . OQ and OR are coplaner , if they are coplaner then volume of parallelepiped formed by OP , OQ and OR as adjacent side is going to be zero , and i believe volume of parallelpiped is given by determinant of matrix [OP, OQ,OR] , where OP , OQ and OR are column vector of matrix

    In india you can attempt jee advanced exam when you are just passed 12(17-18years old) or following drop year. Only two times in your life. In three hours you have to solve physics, maths and chemistry. To clear this exam u have to clear cutoff for each subjects and overall cutoff. But to get in top colleges(IIT's) you have to score very good marks 60-65 percent of total marks. In that sense i think that indian entrance exam is the hardest in the world

    Btw great job.

    Honestly 2024 JEE advanced math was probably the easiest in last 5 years. Also, Students who qualify these don't go on to solve the problems completely but use tricks like in the 1st question the 0/0 was instantly determined then looking at the options we should just solve for f(x)= a/x + b*x^10 then find the values of a and b. PS- b would be eventually vanish also an intuition to the problem.

    The very first question. Elimination approach from the multiple choice.
    f(x) must be of the form 1/x + x^10 in the multiple-choice. If it were not, then it would be 0 or a very large number. Note that 1/x term is required to produce the nonzero constant in the limit, and x^10 cancels out in difference quotient. Also, f(1)= 2. The only suitable form is 1/x + x^10 (i.e. k*x+x^10, k \in (0,1)) in the multiple‐choice answers is (B).
    I don't find this question difficult or beautiful. If anything, it intimidates high‐school students who are already under examination pressure.

  • @utkarshsahu193
    @utkarshsahu193 15 дней назад

    It was my year's paper. It was so easy that it made me cry seeing the marks vs rank. With same marks, I would have got a rank = current_rank/2 and seeing data of 2022, I would have got rank = current_rank/4. This is not the toughest (of this year), but I wished I could have given a tougher paper.
    But yeah, JEE Adv is one of the toughest of the world.

    I'm not sure your answer to number 3 is correct. From tanx = - sqrt(11)/5, you draw your triangle, but you dropped the minus sign. You *can* use this approach to calculate abs(x), but you need to multiply by -1 again when computing sinx, i.e. sinx = -sqrt(11)/6. Which would mean the answer is actually D).
