U know... I was never really a fan of Eli, but after hearin his thoughts on the wrestlin business, & character driven performers, I have a new found respect for him.
I was going to say the same thing, what he said is true and i wanna see less of the crazy flips and stop using finishers as basic moves, save them for high spots, much respect.
Eli is right. He really gets the businesses. This was a great interview. The kicks are high risk. Ditto for the flips. That's why I like MJF. He's money on the mic, and is a wrestler.
*Brings up Bar Wrestling and 'someone bringing all the flavors of BANG Energy to the show* Guilty-Eli 'snagged 4 cans of BANG at that show, He admitted it to me on Twitter later on...lol
SPEAK THAT TRUTH ELI DRAKE. SPEAK THAT FUCKING TRUTH! FLIPPITY FLIP WRESTLING IS NOW OVERSATURATING PRO WRESTLING BIG TIME! Just stay away from Joey Ryan and Kenny Omega, and SPEAK THAT MOTHER FUCKING TRUTH! The wrestling industry has gotten so bland due to such a lack of good characters. YES, THE INDIES ARE A NITCH AUDIANCE! ATTENTION IMPACT WRESTLING. MAKE ELI DRAKE THE TRUE FACE FACE OF THE COMPANY, NOT HEEL FACE! Sorry, the business has DUMMED DOWN! not evolved.
It is really annoying when people have a hard time accepting that the business has changed and that happens especially if you know your wrestling history. You dont hear wrestlers from the 80's crying about how they hated when the business changed to when the steroid era happened and wrestlers talked more. Now people are crying because wrestling has went through another change and the big guys are not the only option and people dont talk on the mic much. Why dont they quit crying I dont know any fan that goes to a wrestling event to hear someone talk. He mentioned WWE the reason that WWE is having trouble with filling arenas is because they have the same attitude that Eli does and fans are proving they dont want to see old part time guys that is a fact of life
Eli has a great point. The business has changed but is it for the better? Are we in a boom period? The indy scene is good but I don't think wrestling is as big as it is in the 80's/90's and you can't argue that. WCW and WWE could do 7-k-10k arenas weekly back in those days. Territories were doing 15k arenas in the 80s and whatnot.
Changed should not mean devolved. He isn't saying the flippy shit necessarily is bad he is saying it should not be used to mask the fact that you have no Mike skills or character development. And he is 100% correct.
Enjoy the business being in the gutter. Wrestling isn't cool anymore and it's for the reasons that Eli said but hey, you and your geeky friends are enjoying it. Have fun.
That intro caught me off guard😂😂
Same
I was like... Did he say that? Yeah I think he did.
Right!
Would had much preferred for him to just say "Yeah Dummies this is aby Yeaaa"
I was like what did I do to piss you off
Lol I loved the intro!!
U know... I was never really a fan of Eli, but after hearin his thoughts on the wrestlin business, & character driven performers, I have a new found respect for him.
I think he believes his own hype which makes me indifferent about him
But I'd be lying if I said I didn't like his gimmick
Everything Eli said was 100% FACT!!
I was going to say the same thing, what he said is true and i wanna see less of the crazy flips and stop using finishers as basic moves, save them for high spots, much respect.
@@TehPostman completely agree there is a time and a place for all that stuff
A fact of life...

He is an awesome wrestler and great on the mic.
Eli Drake is the man! Been a fan of his since 2015. He's spot on with everything he said regarding the Wrestling Business today.
This guy is gold on the mic and brought up some serious TRUTH here.

Eli Drake is a great interviewee. Thanks Alicia.
YEAH!!! MOVING ON UP. YEAH!!!
He nailed it about modern wrestling in the second half of the video. It's probably also why he's getting over so much now in WWE. He gets it.

Big strong muscular men who looked like they were fighting! So many of today's 'wrestlers' look like gymnasts.
Dummies, when I say Dummy you say yeah; Dummy..

And no. WWE is having trouble because their booking sucks AND their character development sucks AND the in ring product is lacking.
Enjoy the business being in the gutter. Wrestling isn't cool anymore and it's for the reasons that Eli said but hey, you and your geeky friends are enjoying it. Have fun.
@@osaji922 Look at how wrong you are, Just 3 months later. Wrestling is biger than ever.
