Then the chef preparing the fish, ribs, plantains. Frying fish first on the cast iron grill then steaming it with banana leaf as the cover Oh man!!!! They have the most wonderful resteraunts and views of the Carribean.
Being from the Caribbean islands we all have the same foods , just different names. Those are fish fritters , in Puerto Rico we call them "Bacalaoitos" salt fish fritters & shape them flat and round ! Omg delicious, and the green sauce they have is basically our "sofrito" base to all our dishes ! Our ancestors are the same "Tainos "

Their food is amazing, but the people are even more amazing!! That presentation of the seafood feast is a work of art!
Just because Mark seems happy all the time doesn’t mean he always is. Sometimes our happiest friends and family we don’t check in because we assume everything is okay. Mark I love all the light and love you bring and pray over you and your family. Please proactively and consistently take care ❤️
Sooo much better than what chef Jason did with David. Excellent, varied foods to sample. Very inclusive of all the foods Trinidad and Tobago have to offer. ❤️
Coming from seeing both, I can't agree with you more. Such rounded coverage of Trinbago 🥰 .
Hear nah..u are spot on..and with every new video i keep thinking of more food for him to try..Trini Chinese food, Tobagonian Blue Food and Curry Crab and Dumpling, Trinbago Christmas food..so much fooddddd 😁😉😋😏
Don't blame David it was the attention whore he was running around with that made the series leave a bad taste in people's mouth
@@lincolnclay7925 most definitely. Not blaming David at all. Just hope when he comes back Visit Trinidad looks after him. Chef Jason was appalling.
Wow you're saying what we all were thinking. Chef Jason annoyed me so bad in those videos. He didn't represent at all.
Great video I'm glad you did this series I'm not from Trinidad but I've always enjoyed the food. Very culturaly diverse It's like the United Nations of Food.
The Seafood Queen is the epitome of vivacious Trini spirit!! I loved her!! And that seafood platter looked HEAVENLY!Havent been down that side of Trinidad in years - this vid makes me want to make a roadtrip there so bad now! All the food looks sooo good, the sea and coastline as well - and everyone was so authentically friendly and welcoming - combination of Caribbean and country hospitality! As a Trini myself, it's amazing that Mark ( a foreigner) is giving me new appreciation for my culture, and now I am excited to go there myself! Awesome video! ( And also awesome Trinis 🙂🙂 - cah forget to big up meh people hehehe!😌😊 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹)
that second to last sentence resonates with me profoundly. his vids have me missing home rel bad! i grew up in South so some of these places up North i've never been but def want to go to.
👍👍👍👍🇹🇹❤
He went to Jamaica, and his tour guide gave him a similar experience that he's recreating in Trinidad.
I wish he would visit Tobago as well because I'm curious about it.
@@spiritualcleanse7115 waiting to see if there are any Tobago vids myself!!
@@spiritualcleanse7115 I heard he went Tobago as well, can wait to see them as well
Even though am from St.Lucia I just love how this man captures the food culture no matter where he goes...there's no high-tech product crew...Mark you're the best because of your natural ability to capture the soul of why we love your videos...am sure you have been offered to do it with a bigger production crew but let me tell my bro Mark not all things are for sale....keep the good vibes flowing my bro from St.Lucia we love it
Yeah for Sure
Yep
The aerial shots done by the drone really gives, even born and bred Trinbagonians, a breathtaking view of our beaches and countryside from literally another level. Superb editing skills. Well done Mark! 💯
Completely agree! the footage is superb
I been planning to visit the Virgin Islands but Trinidad was not on my stop list. Thanks to this videos it is now.
We look forward to seeing you!
Amazing work Mark and what a great experience ❤ thank you so much for all the wonderful memories you have given to me. It was an honour to be a part of your Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹 experience
Love your content sir
The island and foods of Trinidad and Tobago looks really appetizing and the people are really friendly...Thanks for another great video Mark. I understand that their food takes on a special vibe at Christmas time.
Yes and it's sometines too much. Lol your belly will burst!!
Lol...the hazards of eating tasty food 🤔🤣😂
The whole menu of the country and music changes in December 🎄 🎄
This is true
Ohhh, don't get us started on Christmas!! Its a whole different type of mouthwatering food...pastelles, ponche de creme, mauby, gingerbeer, blackcake/fruitcake, peardrax, and the list goes onnnn.
Aunty Kays is like a gourmet restaurant in the countryside. Her presentation is on point. Loving this tour of T&T!!!
Mark eating pepper like it's candy. I'm just in awe.
I'm from the states and I say pepper, but after watching this series when I see pepper I think peppa.
You seeing that right. I swear Mark enjoyed the peppers more than the food. 🤣
Ikr him brave masa 😆😆😆😆
As a Trini 🇹🇹 to d bone i could do nothing but smile and feel proud during this entire series. If you have been following Mark for long you'll know when you see the Satisfaction of content in his facial expression and i see nothing but joy whilst he was eating every drop of our Trini sweetness. #visittrinidad well done
The way mark wife hugged this lady brought joy to my heart #trini❤ I love my country
Mark is giving a good advert for Trinidad. I didn't know Trinidad had such a variety of food. My mouth is watering. 😋
We do its just some foods are more expensive so if you wanna visit jist for the food, save up for that lol. The seafood is the most expensive.
Real food
Thank you for showing the true beauty of Trinidad's people, its food, and the friendliness of the Islands.
I do really love it, when locals from everywhere around the world, proudly present their traditional foods, and could vibe with our smiley face while eat their foods 😍🥲
🇹🇹❤️❤️❤️you can never run out of the different foods to try in Trinidad. My country is so diverse you can never go wrong. The culture & people is everything. Such a great vibe. Thanks for sharing Mark🙏🏽

This was such a great tour! 👌 That Seafood Platter looked divine, loved the creativity of the Pineapple Chow and Raymond came through with that 'side of de road' Hog Plum Cocktail! 🇹🇹🔥 Great work also #VisitTrinidad and team for bringing this together!
This series of videos about Trinidad and Tobago food culture was amazing. I don't know why but this last vid made me tear up a bit. It was amazing seeing my country through your eyes Mark.
Yes, I shed a tear too. Just happy the world is seeing who we are. Our cuisine is so amazing 🇹🇹🇹🇹
Coming from south trinidad I must say toco people are some of the friendliness people you can meet. Always love visiting. The atmosphere is clean calming and sooooo relaxing 😌
A man from the island said to me "you can't be sad and uptight when it's sunny all the time." The people of Trinidad and Tobago seem that way.
Yes trinis 'live, love, laugh'. They barely take anything seriously other than politics. They enjoy life and are grateful for it. That's why I love my ppl
@@mega-mind3167 even politics we don't take seriously . we always making some type of joke on it.
It is truly amazing how Trinidad 🇹🇹 food is so versatile and encompasses so many different styles and flavors. This is only the 5th episode and I can't keep up with all the different varieties of food.
Aunty Kay"s quickness of Skills in the kitchen amazing. Her presentation mouth watering.
Again Mark Wiens is showing the world that Trinidad and Tobago is such a beautiful place. ❤❤
From Kenya to Trinidad via Mark Wiens 😂😂
My brother in Kenya glad to have u blessings from trinidad
Oh Mark you Zak and the tour guides enjoyed all of that fabulous food!!!! The lady who was manning all those skillets of Lobster and beans and the salsa with the cucumbers.
Sofrito comes from West Africa not the “Tainos”. West Africans make green seasoning too. ❤ Saltfish fritters is from Portuguese influence.
And all green seasonings a taste different thays why when you visit caribbean islands the food taste different
Trinidad is "different" because of the large East Indian population and their impact on the food
Mark the series of videos that you have provided to us is amazing! I have a father that is from Trinidad, I have never been there but I am going in March. So these videos have now given my husband and I places to go to when we get there. Much love and appreciation!💕
I can't help but smile throughout the video. Mark's authentic reactions to eating the local dishes is so infectious. 🙂
Trini 🇹🇹 here. I must congratulate Mark on his excellent showcasing of Trinbago.
My grandmother used to boil the leaves of the hog plum tree and use it as an antiseptic for sore throat and it really worked. The actual fruit/plums are packed with vitamin C.
Interesting....I didn't know this neither did I ever hear about burying the fruit in the sand!
I love Mark! He is so cultured and brings out the best of the every flavor! Trinidad is so multicultural and he has managed to reach every taste. Awesome job! so proud to see the vids!!!!
Auntie Kay is a powerhouse, that huge seafood spread was just loaded with love and deliciousness. All the stops featured some delicious local snacks- pine chow, paimee, pawpaw ball, fresh baked pone😍 boil corn. The cutters by Auntie Hazel little parlor look real tasty too…at that point I would have been stuffed. But then Mark had a two heavy dishes after🤯(dat means I’m a lightweight at this eating thing😂)But Mark real get thru on this trip and deservedly so btw- let’s all thank him please for another fascinating showcase of our beautiful island 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹
One simple word “AMAZING”. Am sold, thanks to you Mark, am really ready to visit T&T. Great series.
This series is BOSS! As a proud Trini I am discovering things about my country I did not know! Now I have to do more exploring. That hogplum..yum. Growing up we chewed the young hogplum leaves with salt for sore throat. It worked all the time!💯
I am definitely putting Trinidad on a list of countries to visit.
Check out his Jamaican series as well. So similar.

Another Caribbean food tour banger, great food/atmosphere and friendly hospitable ppl. 👍🏾👍🏾🇯🇲
Mark!!! I have to watch your videos on a full stomach because it’s pure salivation while watching the food prep and your sampling the food. The Seafood Queen delivered a feast fit for a king and YOU are the Foodie King.
You made this food come alive. You elevated snacks like Pineapple Chow, Pone, that we take for granted. Thoroughly enjoyed this video. I’ll be replaying this one.
Word on the street is when mark left Trinidad 🇹🇹 he had so many bottles of peppah 🌶 sauce the intense heat coming from his luggage got him in trouble with air port security 😳
Lol...😅🤣😅
This was the best tour of Trinidad and this is why I watch MARK WEINS 🥰🥰❤️❤️ everyone loves mark and his family, also the best parts be when they say oh be careful with the chillies and he just take it like a real one 🔥🔥🙌 I wish to visit Trinidad soon.🥳
This seafood plattern at Auntie Kay's is absolutely mind blowing. Such a pleasure to watch you eat it. No super fancy 5 star restaurant wherever could beat it. That's the key to success by cooking. Keep it simple. Quality and preparation are already obvious just by watching the video. Soon you will reach the 10 million subscriber Mark and you've earned it, you've always been the #1 food vlogger and you ever will be.
I have fell in love with the tropical nature of this country what a scenery 😍 and the hospitality, and kindness of the people who live in it is unbelievable! I wish to travel here one day 🤞
You'll never find this goodness flavour any where else in the worlddddddd , fresh everything, from the sea , from our backyards , the best place in the world to be
I sat and watched this with a stupid grin on my face the whole time! I was so happy and proud! Mark you eating pepper more than we trini's! Lawd! Love it! Love it!

You make great videos Mark, but this Trinidad and Tobago trip has been special.
Love your content!
I loved Trinidad and Tobago people, food and landscapes !!!
Mark, you have, hands down, showcased Trinidad BETTER than the Trinidad and Tobago Tourism Board!
VisitTrinidad, and all others involved in exposing Mark to the levels of cuisine and experiences there are to be had in T&T (Trinidad so far, but with the thoroughness of these vids, I can see Mark doing a serious dive into Tobago soon, too...), job well done! You guys tapped the right person to showcase the country! His experience at this type of documentation, and his viewership alone, was worth whatever you guys invested in, to make this happen. His reach is wide, and his views and assessment, trusted. You would do well to have him back for different Trinbagonian festivals and times of year. The quality of these vids are stellar!
