My father created this commercial. He's 86 now. He worked in advertising for over 40 years. My sisters and I are so proud of his work. When we ask him about making this commercial, he just nods and says, "Oh yeah. That one was a lot of fun to make. "
This is how you do the ads. When an ad becomes one of the symbols of a holiday, when it is aired almost every year for more then 15 years in many countries of the world, when people actually want and even demand to see these ads, is when you know the marketing department outdone themselves.
JekaZMD - pretty much anything that is done during Christmas time or related to Christmas Time will be remembered forever. For example remember those relief for Africa song from the collaboration of all artist back in the 80’s?? Which one do you remember more? American USA Africa version or the British version Band-aid?? Band aid right??? Because they purposely did it at Christmas time so it will always be played every year on Christmas and be remembered forever as long as there is always Christmas.
@@devonferris Ah but I could find a metric F-Tonne of advertisements aired during christmas time that were total flops versus every one successful advertisement you could show me that was impactfully memorable!
I still remember the first time seeing this ad. I was a kid, and my mind was blown by the spectacle of the trucks with the lights. It felt like it was a rare commercial though, like you'd only see it a couple of times per Holiday season, usually like right towards the end of the November or early December, and then again maybe a little closer to Christmas. My dad would literally tell me when the commercial was on because he knew I liked it so much.
I’m soon to be 49 yrs old and this fantastic add still sends chill down my spine , my mum passed away 2yrs ago and she always said that it wasn’t Christmas until we saw the big red trucks. My cousin has two of these beautiful trucks and every year for weeks before Christmas, coco cola Ireland 🇮🇪 has his trucks dressed to their best as he tours our country wherever they are asked to go. 🤗🤗🤗🤗
That's a lovely memory to have of your mum 😊❤️ must have given her such joy in later years to see her nephew owning the same type of trucks. 👌 I've heard about them touring the country and hope to see them myself someday 😊
In my country they sang "llega la alegría" (joy is coming), i loved and enjoyed so much this advert 😢😢. So many memories, beloved people who were with us those days, and now they are gone. This advert always brings to me all those happy memories back. I never get tired of watching It.
I loved watching these commercials in the 90's. In today's technical world of skipping the commercials these would definitely be the ones I wouldn't skip! Thanks for the great Christmas memories.
Its good to know I am not the only one crying due to nostalgia, reminds me of little few happy Christmas!!! Its not Christmas until you see a Coca Cola Commercial!
There are many things in life that shouldn't be messed with, and this Coca Cola Truck advert is one of them, it's sentimental and people from different age groups love this ad plus it was the only commercial from the 90s that was being shown every year from 1995 to 2023.
When people are still demanding to see an ad 30 years after it was made you know your marketing department has really pulled through. these ads are now a symbol of christmas.
Awwww, I Always feel soooo good and happy when I see this commercial! Please Coca Cola, don't ever stop with these commercials, trucks and lovely song. It makes me feel so warm inside!!

Can i join the crying train? My eyes are always tearing up when i see these commercials. I miss my childhood so much. What happened to the world? Everything was so much better back then.
It breaks my heart that after 29 years (1995-2023) of seeing this beautiful, amazing, nostalgic Coca Cola Christmas Truck ad on TV, that it has now been ruined in 2024😢. R.I.P Original Coca Cola Ad 1995-2023. Gone but definately NOT Forgotten!. Hopefully this stays on RUclips so in years to come, I can show my kids this wonderful advert. Fun fact! this is the only advert from the 90s that was still going strong in 2023.
I think that some people may disliked the video because this commercial tries to link a beautiful and innocent holiday with an unhealthy drink like Coca-Cola. The truck and all is great but I have strong doubts that Santa would give any child a Coca-Cola. I like to think that he would give kids something healthy. Anyway, before the hate, I'm not part of those who disliked the video. :)
As a 90s kid born in 93, growing up with these adverts were just the best. Childhood were the best days of my life, I even miss how the Christmas lights were back then, different colours all the time. Now all you see if plain white modern lights.. bring back the chunky multi coloured bulbs! 😂 Merry Christmas, everyone!
Hi there I so agree with all of these people.. I was born in 1982 and was about 10 11oy when I saw this add and my God does it half make you feel so happy inside. 😊 some have said add company's don't make them like this anymore.. they are darn right.. best Christmas add ever made and nothing will ever beat it.. never change it add company. Xxxx
I'm just reminded why the old commercials are way better than this year's Coca-Cola ad, which is just AI garbage. Like, they couldn't be bothered to pay actual people to star in the ad itself?? That ad doesn't make me wanna buy a coca-cola. Now these ads and the old Polar Bear ones?? THOSE make me wanna buy a Coca-Cola.
Haven't seen this advertisement this year and it's so iconic. I hope I just missed it and if I didn't, they should really bring them back. Huge nostalgia factor. Always Coca Cola!
They must never change this ad its iconic this makes our Christmas infact the should roll each and everyone every time there's an ad break all these show the true meaning of christmas. It breaks my heart as we get older, the true meaning seems to be getting lost.
Here in the UK,I love, love, love this advert and nothing else comes close!!!...I just feel like a little kid when this comes on and get all excited, then try to work out why!!!!!!...Love the lorry, the scenery, the excitement on the children's faces,EVERYTHING!!!!😁😁😁😁 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
You definitely can't beat it.. nothing has ever come close to making me feel that exact happiness feeling inside than this add.. they don't make them like this anymore and never will.. and agree with you.. perfect scenery happy families and you can't beat how those kids were so happy.. music spot on.. to me they went all out on these adds and did a perfect job of it... so agree it's not Christmas until you see the iconic trucks and the music.. pure perfect magic 🎅🎄🤶☃️👨👩👧👦😊😘
Oh man these adverts bring tears to my eyes - I love Coca Cola and I love these commercials, it wouldn't be Christmas for me without these on TV. lalalalala lala lalalalal lala - tis the season.
I don't even drink Coca Cola but this ad has so much nostalgia in it and it reminds me of the singer who tragically lost her life but gave us one of the most iconic Christmas songs ever.
preferred the original in 95, much better than the one they show today, the music, the hologram of Santa drinking the out of the bottle on the back of the trailer, brings back memories :)))
Even though I was a drinker of a different kind of stuff, I really loved these Christmas spots. Heartwarming and fun, they were so enjoyable. Have always loved to watch big trucks. Trucks and bears. Hugs to all.
Theres no other Christmas ad better than the coca cola ad that Christmas ad will always be number 1 and hopefully it will always stay the same never change it
When I hear this I get the same feeling I got when I was a kid it's weird can almost smell the same sense in the air and takes me back for a few seconds
I was really happy to see the Christmas truck again today after I haven’t seen in years since I was a child and it still had that same spirit of Christmas
Ah, the first one made the nostalgia kick in, ditto the third one, then the last one made the tears of joy come to my eyes. Now Christmas can come, even though I don't get to see anything but a 40 second cut on TV, with no winking santa.
i remember the 1998 commercial when i was a little kid and o love semi trucks and wanted one of those ones, but i never got one and that was sad for me. but this one has always been my favorite.
They should sell toy versions of the lorries at Christmas. I'm sure parents would buy them in droves, as it reminds them of their childhood. I'm an adult (sadly) and would buy one for myself as it reminds of my younger days, when I was that kids age.

You never Chrismassy till you see this, Since I saw this advert when I was a boy its what made me fall in love with Christmas, Now after nearly 10 years of looking, I finally found it.
Crying like a little girl... I wish things, people were as cheerful and happy as they are shown (and probably felt) in the commercials like these. Perhaps that is also what makes Christmas so special. It brings people together for good deeds. And it happens once a year... If it was like that every day, we might have never noticed it. Has anyone actually seen the real Coca-Cola Christmas trucks? I know I have :) It was magical, indeed. Me and my friend were outside at that moment, and we couldn't believe it at first. It was in 1998-1999. We kinda expected CC bottles to be given away just like in the commercial :D, but then we figured that they might have got smashed if they threw them.
Yea when I was a kid in Poland I always knew when Coca Cola Christmas ad was on TV it was a Christmas time of the year and I wish they still played this ad or at least something similar.
One of the most timeless and most iconic Christmas adverts ever. I was gutted they didn't do the Coca-Cola Truck Tour in 2020 in the UK - understandable though.

Tell him that that is my all time favourite ad.
And that's iconic.
