    What I'm still trying to figure out is if Alejandro "writes" these songs in his mind or if he actually writes notes down on a page like traditional composition. Something tells me this is all in his mind and he plays what he feels and has an incredible gift of knowing what would sound good together. A natural God-given talent...he's really changing music. Thank you so much for your education on this piece. Love it. I don't know if I want the "pop world" to get a hold of Alejandro. LOL... His authenticity is genius.

    • @a2zme

      @@a2zme people who are self taught also teach themselves how to read music. Its almost impossible to write like this without knowing ur way around real music notes. Especially on a piano. U can fake being great at guitar but not the piano

      @haden1575 5 лет назад +3

      @@alangarcia4821 i'm self taught and can do piano fairly decent but i didn't put in the effort to learn how to read music fast. as long as you understand scales, modes, some music theory especially behind classical music, and with long hours of practice with runs/trills/arpeggios, it's quite possible to write classical style pieces by memory. it's the equivalent of being able to speak the language but not read the alphabet well. that's why i call myself kind of musically illiterate, having only the literacy of a 1st grade music student lol. since alejandro has had classical influences since childhood, there's a chance he might have the ability to read, though

    The piano is a mix of Alejandro's song "Romance" with Chopin's etude Op 25 No. 12. He is playing Chopin inside his song "Romance". Yes you have to have a certain skill to play this song. That skill would be being able to play f*cking Chopin! And frankly one of his most difficult etudes of all.

    • @JoeBlow_4
      @JoeBlow_4 5 лет назад +3

      It's not a "refined" version. "Romance" is "Blesser" without the Chopin etude played along side his song. That piano he is playing with "Blesser" is Chopin's Etude Op 25 No. 12 "Ocean". He's playing Chopin while playing Romance. I've posted this. Here is Valentina Lisitsa playing the same etude as Alejandro. She is world class and so is he. It was a brilliant move to meld the two.

    Personally his virtuoso playing on the piano overshadowed his vocal performance. There was too many notes played that did not allow the melody of the song to shine through the empty spaces between the notes. it felt like he was trying to sing over the top of a piano recital as his vocal projection was not loud enough to overcome the forte of the piano. Ideally it would have been nice to change up the dynamics rather than over embellishing his piano accompaniment.

      oh it's been done before. Chaka kahn with herbie hancock "A night in Tunisia", Beck, Steely Dan and the list goes on. It's only when a younger artist does it that it gains notoriety. You can dissect anything once you know the foundation of it. A boat is only doing what a log does. Floats. someone saw a floating log and perceived a boat. Thus, built a boat. Another person saw a log and just saw a log.

      It's rare because it is difficult. No one dares push an instrument while adding vocals due to difficulty and/or fear of messing up. Execution is crucial.
      Most use basic chords because it's easy and it sounds good. Then they focus on their vocals.
      A lot of artists understand this, but few can replicate it.

You have more knowledge in your pinky than me probably in a a lifetime.
