We want to be able to show people that the correct type of leather can be more sustainable and eco friendly than most alternatives. Hopefully y'all enjoyed it!
Definitely! It was a lot of leather hides being processed as well as already finished and stored. Really puts into the perspective of the size of the meat industry. If this is only for vegetable tanned leather, imagine the rest. We weren't able to get any info on carbon footprint, unfortunately
Interesting video but your title is misleading. A tannery does not MAKE hides, the animal makes them. The correct verb to use for a tannery is "process".
ty for the tour, but it would have been nice to know the name of the tannery
WYNY in Leon, Mexico
So what’s the name of the tannery?

It would be cool to know the leather from your shop that comes from here, and the name of the tannery! Was it difficult to get a tour?
It really comes down to planning and being part of the leather industry. Not sure if it's open to the public
What a rad tour!! Thank you for taking us all along for a lil peek into where our materials come from 😊
Thank YOU for watching! So glad you enjoyed it. Shane is a great interviewer!
Is the name and location of the world's largest veg tannery a secret or something? So odd to feature a place and not name it.

Interesting field trip 👍 it is so important to talk about sustainability and the impact of our industry/hobby - thanks for the video ❤

So much leather! I didn't know there were that many cattle on the planet.

This really puts this into perspective. That's a lot of dead cattle. What is the carbon footprint for that many cows per year?
