To anybody that’s not been to herons. No matter how busy Peter seems with things, he’ll always offer every courtesy he can when you visit. I can’t recommend visiting enough to everybody 👍🏻
@@yoteslaya7296 I got two absolutely fantastic mountain maples about 2ft high grown in shallow plant pots at a super reasonable price. Even better than a garden centre for mass grown stuff. The amount of mature trees that you can fall in love with though….you may be better off just enjoying the site than having the idea of leaving with one 😂 still wonderful to see them nonetheless
What a charming video, so lovely to see Peter hanging out with Sam from Nilly's Bonsai . This is the equivalent of Iron Man mentoring Spiderman in the Avengers movies!
Peter you are rich in knowledge and like the young man said you have substance, which means celebrity is nice but doesn't mean as much as substance. Keep up the good work and kind substance.
Thanks to this channel I took the plunge this year, I now have a bunch of young trees and I'm about to grow a lot from seed in autumn. Love this channel ❤ and I wouldn't buy my bonsai materials and equipment anywhere else!
I know Sam from his channel here on YT. He has some very interesting videos about how to make your own pots. Here's the link to his channel : www.youtube.com/@nillysbonsai9636 I'm happy for Sam that he had the chance to meet Peter and that together they worked on some of his trees.
Those pots he made were really nice, I like the hexagonal pot and the oval pot with the rock texture on the outside the most, they were quite beautiful. 👍👍 I was wondering if Lilac could be used, I love Lilac I have several of them in my yard, I might have to pull a sucker plant out and see if I can give it a go.
Hi Peter, I'm about 4-5 years into practicing bonsai, you've been a great inspiration to me in getting started in a hobby that I've had a great intrest in since the karate kid films from the 80's. I've been into horticulture since my childhood but never turned my hands to growing and keeping bonsai , i havest as many seeds as i can from various trees and shrubs from my central London neighborhood and lucky enough to have a garden, im particularly proud of producing cuttings from a 12yr old teatree bonsai that i was was gifted as a Christmas present 3-4 years ago. Thank you for your video's and your books 😊
I wish there was a nursery like this I could go to near me. I'm in the U.S and started some trees from seed. Out of 84 or so seeds I've got six successful plants which I feel like is a low ratio lol. I need to work on my seed starting. It's been a lot of trial and error, especially because in the high desert where I am the summers are scorching, so I ended up damaging them trying to harden them off too early. They're inside recovering under an LED light instead. If there was a nursery like this near me you probably wouldn't be able to get rid of me, I'd be there all the time! Thank you for being so generous with your knowledge and experience, it helps me learn as I go.
What a nice human being! Wish I could come to herons with my collection one day... Trying to set up my own nursery in Switzerland as i fell in love with bonsai and wish i can enjoy a place like herons one day!
Hi Peter I spoke to you a couple of months back about coming to heron’s to get a bonsai. My birthday is finally just around the corner so I’ll be coming on Friday the 25th August. I very much hope to meat you if only for a thew seconds. Will you be there on the 25th? If not I can come on another day you’re there !! Thanks kindly 👍👍👍
When you work with young material it helps you understand scale. Bonsaify has a great video about making beginner mistakes and talks about using the proper techniques for achieving balanced scale.
Enjoyed that. Thanks guy's. For anyone reading please check out Nillys Bonsai. Excellent channel and Nilly has a real flair for Bonsai and presenting on camera!
I watch Mr Chan almost every morning with a cup of coffee.. it’s like visiting with an old friend. Comfortable and wise. Thank you!

He doesn’t need any trees 😂 he has 40,000
I thought Sam was up in the northwest. Has he moved South?
Is Milton Keynes south ?
From here yes!
Hasn’t moved but I think he’s had to vacate the glasshouse he was using for many videos ✌️
@@gayefanner731 Thanks Gaye, thought he was based near Tony in Preston.
No worries, David, God bless you 🙏✝️
