Just bought my first hanging baskets. Random RUclips recommendation...video about the exact same plant I had just bought! I had never heard of the Calibrachoa before. It's so pretty!
Not sure we get them flowers here down under in Aussie, but had to say this was most entertaining to watch - thanks for the giggles. Now going to google where to find them flowers here.
The captions on the screen were hilarious haha. Have to watch again though because I was reading them and not listening!! Talk about a sneaky way to get views!!! Haha
I like to double duty. Hang one basket and put another basket under it. water and let the top drain into the bottom. then switch them and water again. this way it take half the time to water and your not wasting waster. I wish I could grow such beautiful baskets. Thx.
This is hilarious. Had to watch the video twice to intake both info and funny subtitles. Reminds me of the intro credits to Monty Python and the Holy Grail. :)
A lot of times the baskets die because they are not being properly watered, not over watered. The best way to water baskets and some pots that never seem to get watered thoroughly is to actually soak them in a big bucket of water until all the air bubbles are gone then give them five more minutes of soak time. Make sure the bucket is big enough for the water to cover the plant.
I buy four baskets a year and kill at least two of them. I will try the flower food. My baskets were beautiful like these and then dead soon after. I water daily which I thought was good. I usually buy them cheaper now because I know I will have to replace them. I hope this works. Thanks for video!!!!
Oh my word. The nutritious hanging basket just make me spit out my coffee I laughed so hard. Why? Because that sounds like me on camera. That's what happens when you start the sentence too awkward to pull it off so you just stick with it. "You can tell this is a very...." uh oh, I already came into this with that opening sentence so instead of starting over and saying "no wait, you can tell this hanging basket has had plenty of nutrition", just gonna role with the original sentence and say "you can tell this is a very..... um...nutritious hanging basket." 😂 YEP. That is what just happened. 😂
Thank you for this info. In the future don't type dialog on the screen. I tried to read it quickly before it changed byt then I didn't hear what you were saying. Just an FYI if you are hoping for lots of views. I was pretty frustrated from stopping and rewinding to hear or read. 😰😰😰
I want to know about the plant food, if I use a hose, how do I do that, I can’t seem to keep my flowers/plants alive, & I have way too many hanging baskets, to water them like this! . . I also love that he mentions Alsip nursery, I go to church right there, and I’m definitely going there
WHAT Size & type Baskets are these? Heard lot of background noise. I have both of these for this year to several others. 2 bubble gums & 1 so far of yellow. However I also have a white with yellow ctrs to other berry colors, dark burgundy purple, pink, etc. How many are you putting in these pots? Pls tell me the sizes to type Baskets again. Thank You These are Amazingly Gorgeous 🌼🌺🦋💐💜💝
Yup. But I can't do that. I live in 3rd floor condo(more like an apartment) with a wood deck balcony. The water will run down on the my neighbor below. Maybe I can make a removable extension pole I can use to water & re-hang when it is done dripping this year. I also hear you need to fertilize them twice a week. Is this true?
So funny! So my flowers wilt or droop, but I see the leaves at the roots are brown and crunchy and some are green like over watered...that really yellow green. Any ideas?
can you tell me the name of the food that you are using. I have mini petunias and is June only in Chicago and they are getting "woody' inside. I don't know what to do to keep them for this summer. Do you think I should cut them a little. Any answer will help. Thanks
Hello there! I don't know if yours are planted in a baskets or in-ground but I'll give you some advice. I am in MI and have failed every single year in maintaining my hanging Supertunia baskets (mini petunias), had the same issues as you. This year I did some research and have had tremendous success watering the heck out of each baskets and following up immediately using Jacks Petunia Feed (it usually comes in a 25-40LB bag but the 1-4LB smaller sizes are available on eBay!) Optionally you can use Miracle Gro Bloom Booster 10-52-10. (they don't seem to have this particular version in stores, you can get it online). My baskets look even fuller with blooms than the ones in this video all by doing 3 things daily: 1) make sure your baskets have at LEAST half a day of direct sun, morning or later afternoon, either is fine. 2) Water each basket very generously until water literally runs out freely from the bottom, if you are hand watering I'd say use at least 2 gallons of water for each basket. 3) After the water has stopped dripping (about 15 mins after the initial watering) add about 1/2 a gallon of water pre-mixed with one of the fertilizers mentioned above. I've been doing this every day since May and I have neighbors knocking on my door asking me what the heck I am feeding my petunias. Best of luck!
Proven Winners always suggests to fertilize every third watering for plant fullness. Just be careful you water it slowly in spring, and everyday during the summer, and check the soil for drieness during fall. Wind causes soil to dry out faster on hanging plants. I only use proven winners water soluable fertilizer I'm afraid of burning the plants using any other fertilizer.
nice video, thanks! I have a couple questions. 1) How often should Supertunia's be fertilized (fed the plant food)? I have an organic plant food and I've been feeding mine once every 10 days (as the package says to) and my plants do not look nearly as good as yours. 2) Can I overwinter my hanging basket Supertunias? I live in upstate NY but could bring my hanging basements into the basement... if I cut them back some and put them on a box with gravel base to keep them humid would they survive over winter?

After buying 7 or 8 of these,, done all you have done,,, I still never can get an accurate reply from any NURSERY,, as hot to keep the top from sinking and losing all of its shape. I purchased my last one last year,, I usually have to toss them, due to their looking so bad and neglected,, which they definitely were not. Can you please, give me the secret,, many people in my area have the same issues with the baskets with this type of Flower, Thanks.
I live in South Carolina where the thunderstorms can sneak up on you in the summer. This makes me have to deal with overwatering my PW petunias. I have wilted buds that don’t bloom I can only guess that it’s overwatering since there’s no critters doing damage. So here’s my question. Since I have messed up the watering cycle would it be recommended that I remove the plant from the hanging basket and perhaps let the bottom dry out a little bit?
Wayne Walton if it comes out the bottom instantaneously the soil was too dry. There should be some delay between when you start watering and when water actually comes out the bottom of the planter.
Great sense of humor---I had to watch it twice, because the first time I was just reading and ignoring the talking. Funny!
I absolutely loved your commentary!! I can’t stop laughing. Great sense of humor! I needed that laugh today :) thank you!!!
I LOVE the running commentary.. so much that I subscribed!

Not sure we get them flowers here down under in Aussie, but had to say this was most entertaining to watch - thanks for the giggles. Now going to google where to find them flowers here.
I personally loved the screen captions. So damn funny!😂
Funny i had to watch twice bcus it was distracting, so one to read the funny things and again to pay attention to what he was saying i love it
How many plants are in each basket????
Like this guy. The written "narration" is pretty good.
Beautiful. Will not know how to grow such gorgeous flowers

Had the whole family in fits, love it, best way to learn!
U funny!! Pls keep up the humor. Those of you that are distracted by the written words… ... ummm DON’T read them 😆

Absolutely hilarious. Yes I am also guilty of overwatering death. 😩
Oh my word. The nutritious hanging basket just make me spit out my coffee I laughed so hard. Why? Because that sounds like me on camera. The writing on the screen was unnecessary. It took away from what you were saying and what you were doing. Good looking baskets though!
I disagree. The problem is they do not have a proper microphone. Unprofessional for RUclips
Thanks for the info! I'm a huge fan of the supertunia vista. How many plants were in that basket?
How often should I fertilize my patunas with miracle grow
This is lovely.

I love Proven Winners!
How may plant in one pot???calibrachoia
Yup. But I can't do that. I live in 3rd floor condo(more like an apartment) with a wood deck balcony. The water will run down on the my neighbor below. You could get a plastic wash pan at the dollar store to catch the extra water and put it in your other plants and no dripping below to the neighbors.
Ok water them daily but with the plant food or plant food one a week?
Great job....... amazing.......
How can you overwater if you only water until the excess water comes out the bottom.
Annoying subtitles, but thank you for sharing your wisdom

Do we have to add the food plant everyday?
Stunning baskets!!!!!!!!!
You could probably do a great Kevin Kline impersonation if you wanted to
Do you add plant food every time you water them?

I died laughing!
makes a nice hair piece too.... if your a little flamboyant.... the nesting might present an issue.... just saying ...
A good video made terrible by annotations.
THE video before this said if the water runs through then the soil is to dry and is not absorbing the water???????
Wayne Walton if it comes out the bottom instantaneously the soil was too dry. There should be some delay between when you start watering and when water actually comes out the bottom of the planter.
Perfect!
Dialoge was super distracting!
Where do I find these baskets?
www.alsipnursery.com/
