  • Steps to making your Camtasia videos as clear and crisp as possible.
    1. Set your screen resolution to the final resolution, typically 1920x1080 and record full screen.
    2. Set your canvas to the same dimensions.
    3. Set the scale of your screen recording to 100%
    4. Produce your video at the same dimensions.

    Thanks heaps!!! Your video saved my life!!! I’ve been struggling for a few days with my screen recordings always getting blurry on export. I initially thought it was a software/hardware issue or a keyframe issue. I watched tons of videos and got lost in OBS with all the different confusing configurations until I saw your video! I just tried it out, and finally, it’s not blurry!!!!!!! Thanks again!

    Camtasia decreases quality too once you put video on to the timeline...

    I record in obs studio the picture is so clear till I take it into camtasia. I’m recording and editing at 1920 by 1080, I’ve scaled correctly but it’s still blury then when I download to utube it’s even worse.. what am I doing wrong?

    I'm googling this question because I have an end result that isn't ideal. It would be helpful if the video covered different ways to help fix my current issue instead of just telling me to record properly up front. I can't change the video recording I've been given and I have a deadline tomorrow.

    This really didn't answer the implied question: How to fix blurry videos, after recording... 😉

    • @CamAnswers
      @CamAnswers  2 года назад

      That's fair. From that angle, this video helps 0%. The goal of this video is to help people produce clear, crisp videos. Not my intention to mislead potential viewers but to answer the question, "When I produce my video in Camtasia, why is my video blurry?" I didn't think that people would be trying to start with blurry video and make it clear. But now that you bring it to my attention, it's hard NOT to see it.

    How come sometimes videos start off blurry in the beginning but then go clear?

    • @CamAnswers
      @CamAnswers  3 года назад

      Good question! I assume you're talking about watching videos on RUclips. This is because of RUclips and bandwidth. When you first connect to RUclips or even Netflix, they do a test to see what your internet bandwidth is. They try to get you your video as soon as possible, so they provide a lower quality version to start. This gets you into your video. Then as you get more bandwidth available, they're able to send you a higher quality version of the video. It's all about getting your video to you quickly first, and then quality second.

      @@themensroom02 I put up acoustic foam panels in my room to help with the echo. Before I could afford those, I hung up blankets and comforters around the room. I even took a mattress and had it leaning up against a wall to help. Anything soft (clothes, pillows, etc.) will help.

    I dont believe camtasia is compatiable with Mac 16 inch. When I had a 12 inch, it worked perfectly. Now I will have to find another way to record my courses.

    • @CamAnswers
      @CamAnswers  2 года назад

      I don't think this is accurate. Camtasia is compatible with 16-inch Macs. There is a limit of 4096x4096 resolution. So if your screen exceeds either one of those dimensions, then you may be right. As an alternative, you could scale your screen or connect another monitor with a lower resolution.

    The title is confusing. You don´t show how to fix blurry videos in Camtasia, you show how to not record blurry videos in Camtasia...also, it´s a tutorial about fixing blurry videos but your video is blurry, that affects to the credibility of this specific video

    Of course, we record at the full resolution. Everybody having these massive problems with burry videos in Camtasia is doing exactly what you show in the video... that's not gonna fix anything.

    • @CamAnswers
      @CamAnswers  3 года назад +1

      That may be your experience, but it's not mine. After working with several students, most of them are new to Camtasia and ask the question about why videos look blurry. Many folks don't understand that zooming in will make things blurry. If you're already aware, then great! It sounds like you're doing everything you can to keep things looking crisp. Keep up the good work.
      Is there something different that you're experiencing? For example, some people aren't sure what export settings to use. Are you good there?

      @@CamAnswers Hmm... I guess if you consider this crisp and clear then I'll have to look for another software. I've tried every setting and I also get the same results. Your video just confirmed that you can't achieve the crisp and clear that we are expecting. It is still somewhat blurry. I've tried 4k as well and have had the same results. All my equipment is high-end so I know it isn't a hardware issue. Thanks for confirming.

    • @CamAnswers
      @CamAnswers  3 года назад +2

      @@jimnguyen3481 Are you using the default production settings? If so, then I recommend going Custom. I've found that the standard bitrate Camtasia uses is a good balance between quality and file size. But if quality is more important than file size, then make some changes. Specifically, try Export or Share menu > Local File > Custom production settings (from the dropdown) > MP4 > Video Settings tab. Here, you can change the Profile to High, the Level to 4.0 or better, the Mode to Bitrate, and the bitrate to 15000 (15Mbps) to start. You can always go up from there. Those are the settings that I use for this RUclips video. If you prefer something higher/better, then crank up the settings. By the way, you don't have to produce the entire video. You can make a selection of time (like 15 seconds) on the timeline, right click inside the selection, and choose Produce Timeline Selection As... That way, you can create several different options to review in a much shorter time. Hope that helps!
