Love how you encapsulated the solemn and melancholic element of Prime just accepting that is ok to for once, be free of the burden of leadership at the end, amazing breakdown. If you are inclined, I would love to hear you speak about the tail end of the Unicron series that marks the end of the og IDW universe
I'm sooo happy that you're doing these again I've been a fan of the IDW Transformers cause of how well this series is handled and I'm also reading them to on my channel and I just finished phase 1 and moving into phase 2 which I really wanted to get back to cause I've only read the first volume of phase 2 which this comic you've reviewed here is in but thank you for bringing these back and I've been getting into the IDW Transformers comics since 2017.
Hey Bobby! Man you nail these videos, hope you can do more. The IDW comics not that popular in Central America, I read them because of on your old videos. Thank you for your work and entusiams!
Loved this insight and explanation of this book. Ive started phase 1 but struggled to get through just cuz its hard to find hard copies of the orginal books.
Great breakdown! One of my favorite eras of Transformers comics and this issue in particular holds a special place in my heart. It was a bold move to end the war, but it allowed for lots of interesting stuff, like this moment with Prime, which is - as you point out - quite beautiful, satisfying and fitting for the legacy of the character. Some primo artwork by Nick Roche, too.
I would absolutely love to see you cover more comics (tf or otherwise) on this channel/patreon as 3p releases have continuously gotten slower and slower. Really reminds me of the old days of bsf when we saw a lot more comic breakdowns. This video really shows how far you've come along with audio and editing. Keep up the good work 🤟
Wow, I love this! I can't wait for more. I never got to read the IDW comics except for Last Stand of the Wreckers. I really enjoyed this and want to see more!
This was the moment (issue) that the IDW Transformers series went beyond anything that had been previously done in the Transformers franchise. The Autobot/Decepticon war end and a third party of cybertronians, whom ran from the war, had returned. Leading to the important question. Now what? (Which was handled fairly well.) For context. The Transformers IDW series can be broken up in thirds. The first third was the Autobot/Decepticon war. This issue begins the second third of the post-war era of Cybertron, and the two Transformers series that ran during this time had some of the best sci-fi plot lines written in the last decade and a half. Especially the Lost Light (exploration) series. The last third starts with the GI Joe and other crossovers, which was not well handled.
I’ve never been a comic fan. Of any comics. And never cared for the TF comics universe… but your video describing that comic makes me want to look into it. That was an interesting and lovely take on his return and the aftermath. It invoked an emotion I assumed comics couldn’t so. So thank you.
I understand what you mean but this is the 1st transformers comic that made me upset. I have no sympathy for the ones blaming the autobots especially when THEY chose to do nothing but leave. I am fine with them leaving but don't antagonize the ones who stayed and sacrificed their lives to stop a greater threat.
I loved this, Bobby. Brilliantly done. I've only dipped in and out of the comics so for me it's really eye opening to see that there actually are some proper deep narrative TF experiences. Would love a full IDW run roundup and review from you, although realise that's a huge undertaking ofc.
This was beaut! Either here or patreon, more of this please! Not to add to your already overwhelming work load but have you thought about doing something like this with the Star Wars legends stories you’re the most fond of?
Awesome. Thanks for sharing! 🤗👍🏾 Also, i m glad for anything non-collectioncritique, I skip those. I can imagine it's harder and harder to come up with topics/material so I do really appreciate it 😊🙏🏾
Love that you covering comics man. To me a lot of the best storytelling for the lore is in the comics. It baffles me that Hasbro do not use comics as a medium to run a current line off the back of. I find the lack of any storytelling to the current generations line a real miss. I remember reading this and coming up with a story off the back of it. Is there much interest in bootleg Transformers comics out there?
Not trying to be that guy, but the previous events and use of the Matrix had nothing to do with Unicron. Prime used the Matrix on the D-Void in Chaos. Unicron doesn't appear until the very end of Phase 2. Fun stuff to tackle and I look forward to your take on things.
Interesting Bobby, although, I never have been into the comics, I always remember Prime's death from the G1 animated series, mind you. Lol While I do get it, never could really get into the IDW comics, though I have collected a few from some figures during the Thrilling 30s era, from Hasbro, back then. Lol
Please do this more often, although I read the comic this video made appreciate it way more
I've been waiting for years for more IDW breakdowns.

Oh and I almost forgot your also still my favorite RUclipsr cause you've made me got into the IDW Transformers comics.
Id forgotten this was on your plan, a really nice start to the year.
Its also reminded me that i need to re-read these asap.

These types of vids are great. Would love to see this as an ongoing project from you
That’s the tentative plan :)
no way bobby is covering comics how awesome

This is going to be a very fun series of videos, thank you for this!

OMG, is this the start of Bobby’s Fireside IDW Story time?? 🥰. Be still, my Spark 💥

Bobby definitely has the cadence and voice to do some audio books! Great summary/commentary on this very cool comic issue.

And that how you can tell it’s great writing. That you feel passionately about it while understanding the other side
I love you going over some of your favorite media.
Keep it up for whatever you are passionate about 👍

Super cool. I missed out on all of this stuff, so this is excellent! Happy to hear more.
Awesome! I do love me some new Bobbycontent.
This was beaut! Either here or patreon, more of this please!
Not to add to your already overwhelming work load but have you thought about doing something like this with the Star Wars legends stories you’re the most fond of?
Not yet! But who knows
These kinds of videos take me back!
Would love to see some MTMTE storylines, especially ones with Autobot Megatron
I haven't read this yet, so I'm not going to watch this, but I really appreciate you doing this, and I plan to watch this once I do.
As anticipated, from the comments this seems to have been well received. Nice one bobby. 👍
What?!? Why has this not been a thing you do all the time? IDW is hard AF.
Awesome. Thanks for sharing! 🤗👍🏾 Also, i m glad for anything non-collectioncritique, I skip those. I can imagine it's harder and harder to come up with topics/material so I do really appreciate it 😊🙏🏾
You can skip telling me what you skip
Nice! Thanks Bobby ❤️
Awesome Monday surprise.
Love the return to the comics rundown.

This was cool. In fact I refreshed Patreon to see if I missed anything leading up to this.
Never even heard of this! AWESOME! Is this where the IDW line ends? I'm definitely interested in reading it
It’s kinda the halfway point
What an awesome surprise! Love these IDW comic breakdowns
Transformers ASMR. Excellent fellow collector 🔥

cool vid but you confuse D-void with unicron
You’re right I haven’t looked at phase 1 in a while. I remember a lot of that toward the end of it
Yea was confused at this , thought I was going senile lol

I plan on completely going through phase 2 of idw. In my opinion the greatest transformers story ever told. 😊
@MythsAndHeroes no doubt! Lol
Exceptional
Alright 👍🏿 about time lol
i like that but is there more to the story before this one
Yes. This begins phase 2. Which we’ll be going through book by book
Moar
The movie I’ve always wanted! I loved this episode when it came out. Great summary video! I loved it! 🫡
