We have an alter like that. His name is Brett, he's nine and holds five years worth of trust issues, broken promises, ...18+ material and a ton of other things. He's honestly an adorable kid, everyone feels really bad and tries to go out of our way to b buy stuff we know he likes when we front.
And our gatekeeper has to put up with ten years of memories. She's pretty bright for it, but our two littles are always really concerned for her

If someone has this disorder it is amazing that their brain was able to develop this survival mechanism, but on the other hand it also means that people have been through so much trauma, pain & fear - Isa

@MapBot I don’t think I was trying to glamorize it…more in awe of how the brain copes and functions to certain events in life is just fascinating. Honestly I faintly remember writing this comment and I think I worded it the wrong way..I meant how the brain finds such interesting ways to cope and develop differently and how it works is a super power, not the actual disorder itself and the causes of it.

@@thepizzasystem I'm very curious, as I'm new to DID as of today and really want to learn more about it, possibly even become a therapist in the subject. Is there a particular reason that you don't know Flip? Like I know that some alters can communicate with others, but what's the reason some can't?
Also if you do actually read this, thank you for putting these videos out, you're making the world a better place and you surely have to be an immensely strong person(s) to be willing to put yourself at vulnerable moments for others to see, so that they know it's natural to have fears when they have DID

It's like a physical representation of all the sides of a your personality, the inner child, the angry side, the fun side, the scared side, protective side , anxious side ... and each hold a piece of a memory that was too traumatic to process as one memory so was broken down into pieces, i am sending you huge love , you must be exhausted !!! ❤
Thank you for sharing this with all of us. I don't have DID but I do have severe PTSD ,depression and anxiety. It is amazing how human minds/bodies are able to automatically try to protect us. I wish you and all of your Alters health, love and happiness

Same here. I also have PTSD, depression, and anxiety, (like to the point that one time at work my manager called the ambulance for me because it wouldn't stop.) Then when I had my son Dr. diagnosed me with POST PARTUM depression. It's mind boggling. And I just wanted to say you are soooooo correct about the human minds. And how it handles certain things. It's made me do maaaaaaajor research and study on psychology just to get a better understanding.
Why not? Half the people in here decided to have it. You could say that you have it too! Then when everyone switches to non-binary you can always follow them there as well!

ive confused bfs/gfs and friends, and some of my thoughts arent private and if one gets hurt we all get hurt but its relatively easy for us
Our system's primary protector, Edge, identified a lot with Skye. She actually got triggered out by seeing someone so much like herself. She wants to tell him to keep going and to keep being himself, even if others don't always understand. She also says his hat is cool :0

i commonly hear people with DID referring to 'the system'. i find this very interesting. it almost makes it sound like interfacing with an artificial intelligence or something. can you describe more about the system in general?

I really appreciate Skye trying his best to talk to us about himself a little bit. I think that labeling a certain alter as a persecutor or an 'evil alter' can be extremely damaging. Every single alter, and I mean every single one, has their own role in the system and they serve a major function that keeps the entire system safe. DID as a whole is the mind's coping mechanism to repeated trauma in early, developmental stages of life. Skye tried his best to keep himself composed to talk to us which I really appreciate, and I completely agree with the things he said. If he doesn't feel that he's ready to share his experiences, then he doesn't have to, and nobody should make him feel pressured to do so. Even if you might not agree, you need to be respectful of their privacy and wishes.
I also am curious if the alters were briefed beforehand that they would be filming a video, either in the innerworld or while co-con or something, just so they're prepared, because it can be hard to tell which alters willingly fronted and which oneswjust accidentally came to or were brought to the front. I just think that being made to front when you either don't want to or are not in the right mental/emotional state to can be traumatizing.
Also, I really wanted to give Joey a hug and maybe a juicebox.

When I was 13, I’ve read Sidney Sheldon’s “Tell Me Your Dreams” and it’s about MPD/DID. It was one of my favorite books. I’m glad I’m able to learn about it at an early age. Guess it helped me in a way because I’m a special ed teacher now. I’m sending love & support to you & your alters! Always be safe! 💖

It's interesting to see a system that isn't super protective of their littles. Obviously that's a respectable approach (I wouldn't put my kids on camera myself if they didn't want to be, especially if they have trauma), but it's also super super informative to see them.
This is the first of this systems videos I've seen but I see you and you're not alone. Thank you to the pizza system, every one of you, for everything you've done to keep the system safe. I hope there's no longer the immediate presence of danger and you are all starting to feel that.

Still hard understanding how people have this and can apparently switch whenever they want, not saying it's fake but I've always thought the whole part of these is there isn't much control and you usually aren't aware when your switching Def not able to just switch on demand like a alter ego online.
To clarify that, YES you are right, usually a system isn't in control of who switches or if you switch. We ourselves aren't in control of what's going on there, we just decide to share that these moments are part of our reality.
Also YES sometimes it is hard to be aware of a switch, but since starting this channel and getting to know ourselves a bit better, we learned to recognize feelings and bodily reactions that come with a switch, like in our case yawning. Switching can be a process that sometimes takes longer and sometimes is quite fast, but it's not always an instant change. To describe it a bit better it kinda feels like being pulled underwater without the ability to breathe, fight, etc until you vanish in darkness. If this process takes longer you might recognize these feelings and might be aware that a switch is happening, where as other times, when they happen fast, you're just suddenly out.
I hope that was a bit more clarifying, but if there's something else you'd like to know feel free to ask

I could be wrong but I think children that Suffer this extreme abuse usually end up in the foster care system because they were taken away from their parents and because of their disorder it is very hard for them to function especially when they hit their teens. I hope she's doing well today

At the moment I front a lot or at least I switch out a lot, mainly due to my triggers, traumaversary, that keeps me being near the front. I personally don't have communication with other alters, besides Vivi, as well as memory loss, if other alters are out, which is why I can't tell you who fronts most often or almost never. I would like to underline that even though we say my alters it's more like speaking as a collective, no alter owns other alters in a way that they get to choose their name, etc.

I'm not really sure about that. You are right that we usually yawn, but we stress out usually there are times we don't switch as "obviously" depending on the alter and the circumstances. Other than that, I don't know what the exact reason is why they don't do that. Love

Lately I became really interested in this disorder. Of course it’s not a nice thing and it seems really exhausting for all of you but at the same time I think it’s fascinating that the human body is capable of this. I just subscribed because I wanna learn more about it and I love all personality’s. Drew seams really cool and Isa like a really nice one. Flip is a little cutie and skye should stay the way he is. I love his personality. The gatekeeper seems really tired and I hope he feels better which is probably really hard but he does so much for you system.
