FROM THE RACKS AND STACKS IT'S THE BEST ON WAX! Hey Stand By Me Fans! Thank you all so much for watching, I put my heart and soul into this and it was easily the most fun I've ever had making a video! I know some of the things are a little off, but sometimes finding the exact filming locations can be a challenge! I hope you enjoy, and appreciate this tribute to one of the all time greatest films ever made, and make sure you go the the Stand By Me Day facebook page for everything you ever wanted to know about Gordy, Chris, Teddy, and Vern! IT'S BOSS!
Awesome work! Would love to chat with you on my Podcast about your RUclips channel and all the success. Especially your spirit Halloween shows. Very cool stuff.
I love this movie almost as much as the Goonies lol ☠️ That train bridge is super neat looking! You did a great job finding all of the locations and describing the scenes in the movie. Thank you Nate and Marion for showing us behind the scenes glimpses of STAND BY ME!!!! 🍿😃
Absolutely love this man, my all time favourite movie - I think I'm as obsessed as you LOL! love your sense of humour too, great video thanks for sharing.
I´ve got the german version on DVD. I´m 57 now and always when I watch this video, I remember my childhood when I was also a young boy in the same age of those boys in the film. It makes me sentimental, and my spirit says to me: "You ´ve been also such a cheeky monkey or little rascal with your friends as theser boys were in the film !" I sometimes can not stop some tears... And as the author says in the film "I never met friends like each he had in the age of twelve in his live" I share his fate. Fortunatly I ´ve contact with them until now. I thank god therefore to let me meet friennds like them ! I never met equal or comparable friends like them in my later live !!!!! God bles them !!
Stand by me is one of my favourite movies I really enjoyed that move it was so cool and I loved that Chris and Gordie was walking in the 25:10 And I can not believe it I am surprised.
This is my favorite movie of all time! I love seeing these film locations and look forward to seeing them myself one day. Have you thought of going up to Bangor, Maine for the Stephen King tour?
This is awesome Nate! As a native Oregonian I feel ashamed I haven't visited any of these places yet. Though now I'll have a great resource to locate these cool spots! Hope you made it to the cool Goonies areas around beautiful Astoria; I actual made those visits as a kid years ago and it was epic! Keep up the awesome work and thanks for portraying Oregon positively.
Great filming locations video. One of the best I've watched on RUclips. Hope RUclips pays you for it. It's a big risk including all of those clips from the film.
Man Nate that was friggen awesome. As i commented on another channel. I believe GrimLife. You commented that you were in the process of this video. So i just checked it out cause i love this movie. Very much appreciated man. Very well done. Looken forward to more.
This is one of your best videos. Very entertaining! You did a great job making it. Never watched this movie but will have to watch it now, it's definitely my type of movie.
Loved this video! One of my favorites movies of all time! :) Side note; I spotted Halloween decorations being put out today, at Old Time Pottery! 🎃 :) It's getting that time!
Amazing !! In Argentina it's a movie which take us the people of my age to our Childhood so thanks for giving this video I hope someday to know that little Town in Oregon!
Loved this video! Amazing work Nate and I can’t wait too see more filming locations in the future. Even though I grew up in the 80s/90s “Stand By Me” reminds me of my childhood with my friends exploring the woods.
Traaaaaaaain!!!!. And so on. Oh no did you forget the pie eating contest? That was the grossest part of the movie. But that will help if you eat pie for your movie snack. Oh yes you got it. I mean the pie part.
Subscribed, I got the blu ray last night this is one of my top ten favorite 80s movies, I was sitting here thinking half of the stuff is probably not there anymore I was born in 1990 and after watching this movie I am sitting here thinking what the hell happened to stuff like this, a bunch of friends go on a long outdoor journey passing time with telling stories, goofing off and joking around now everyone just looks at a screen these days, God I miss my childhood because of this movie. This was a real treat thank you so much.
ALL I GOT TO SAY IS OMG 😲. this is cool thank you so much for showing us around and so glad they preserved most of this for us to experience. This was awesome
I’ve gotta be honest I never got into this movie but this video is THE best. You’re enthusiasm makes me want to watch it! I really appreciate all the hard work and effort this took: the detailed movie locations, the history behind it. This is truly one of my faves so far. Great, great job, Nate!
The junk yard scene was done on Tidball Lane off of Huston (hews-ton) Rd. The four properties at the end of the road next to junk yard are still owned by the same people who lived there when the movie was made. It is funny to watch after all these years people showing up and parking on our dead end road to take videos. The gate the boys climbed to the junk yard was the fence in line with the gravel road to the left of where you were looking, it is now a wood fence.
18:25 the bridge is located on Lake Britton north of Burney, CA. The McCloud Railway operated between Mt Shasta City, McCloud and Burney, with a branch to Hambone, primarily as a logging railroad. It shut down in 2010, and most of its rolling stock was sold to other railroads. The locomotive in the bridge scene, Number 25, currently operates on the Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad in Garibaldi, Oregon. The portion between McCloud and Burney was removed and has been gradually converted into a hiking trail, the Great Shasta Rail Trail, which will eventually extend from McCloud to Burney including crossing this bridge.
The train bridge is closed because it was a portion of Yreka Western Railroad which went out of service around 2009. The train from the film was the Blue Goose Thompson 19 Steam Engine that was in Yreka CA for my entire childhood. It's now in a Railroad museum in Akron Ohio.
the train bridge is actually on the McCloud Railway, on the southeast side of Mt Shasta. It's located on Lake Britton, right off of Highway 89 north of Burney. Number 19 was used in the film, but in another train scene. The locomotive in the bridge scene is McCloud 25, which currently operates on the Oregon Coast Scenic in Garibaldi, Oregon.
I live in Eugene Oregon, my ex used to work in Brownsville. I haven't even went to see these places and im only a half hour at most from Brownsville. I grew up in Eugene, my grandma lives in Cottage Grove. I really enjoyed the video.
I would love nate if you do the 'The Exorcist' Location Too. It's too awesome if you do that❤️ btw I really love this movie as a millennial and really cool like the 80s kids would be great back in a day!
Nate, great job! Do you have an idea where the opening scene was filmed (Where Richard Dryfus is stiing in his 4x4)? It looks as though it may be in Cottage Grove as well? What is you hunch? I look forward to hearing back! Thanks, Nate!
I maybe wrong but I think the reason why they made the coca-cola mural was because Columbia pictures was owned by the coca-cola company at the time. Great video you did.
There was a prop tree house that was next to the one in the tree..It had removable walls, and was on scaffolding which allowed the lighting, and grip guys to move around and get the up close facial footage during the card game..Too bad it was dismantle after filming because it was the exact size as the one in the tree .
Loved the locations you showed and the painstaking detail you went to. However, I gotta be honest, I feel like you neglected the most pivotal scene of the movie... when they found Ray's body. Would have loved for you to include that. That's my only criticism.
I don’t know if you have plans on showing this, but because you do such an awesome job at showing these locations where movies I watched when I was younger, I was wondering, if you will be visiting the movie locations of Zombieland?
I also wonder where the part was where they get leaches on them because after the failed train dodge they ran across the field and the spot where they found the dead kid
Hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha corey river Jerry will hear that corey want i said about i said about you funny moments i said you got eyes like English massif cute puppy 🐶
Hey Nate will you go to Reno Nevada during the spirit time because it’s dope all the props are always working and they have everything they had Penney wise and krampus
Stayed at the same Air B and B when my family came here. Also made a Stand By Me filming locations video, check it out. Yours is nice as well! Such a cool place!

My friend lives in the main characters house. It’s goofy seeing his car and watching you just chilling in his driveway lol
LOL! He was such a nice guy too! (providing that's who I spoke to when I knocked lol).
Loved the locations you showed and the painstaking detail you went to. However, I gotta be honest, I feel like you neglected the most pivotal scene of the movie... when they found Ray's body. Would have loved for you to include that. That's my only criticism.
