Blood Feuds were a practice in several other parts of Southern Europe, most prominently in Sicily and Calabria. Some argue that it was carried out in those 2 particular places by Albanian communities of nobles and soldiers who emigrated there after the death of Skenderbeg to escape Ottoman retaliation 500+ years ago. These communities are called Arbereshe who still reside in those parts of Italy and still speak a variant of medieval Albanian language.
I'm glad you guys went to Theth. Very nice. The river in Theth, and the river from the blue eye merge and form the Shala river, which flows south to Komani lake.

What a place to wake up in the morning. Open your eyes and say it was a nice dream but no, it's natural beautiful Albanian nature. You 2 are incredibly people. My favourite trip video makers
It’s so great to see people really enjoying the beautiful nature my country has to offer. Thank you for visiting and shedding light on my country, I speak for Albanians when I say we appreciate it
How interesting the story about that cool tower!!! That was so funny how that hat suddenly landed on your head all of a sudden! And that music was interesting too!
I've not made a tune out of a leaf but a whistle, yes! I guess I need 5 years to master it 😜 Incredible Albania! Wanna dive in the blue eye too but maybe with a wet suit on so I won't be freezing like Steve!

• Amazing and stunning scenery! • Even under the blood feud law, people were still killing others… hmmmph 🙄 • As usual good story telling, Steve • Food makes me happy too, Ivana Thanks for such beautiful experience ❤️

Incredibly amazing place with it's beautiful nature pure water and the most important thing peace .I'm glance to you guys bcs of you ,I get a chance to see this amazing places having different culture or food 😍😍
Albanian blood feud is the same as the medieval german law called SIPPENHAFT. This law was a common legal among germanic peoples, including Anglo-Saxons and Scandinavians *Wikipedia
Yes and even sometimes people get paid with gold amount of weight or smth like that ! In albanian SIPPENHAFT is called KANUN Albanians say also Kërtolla (körtollö) that means kartofeln or patatoes ! Hugs Germany from Albania 👋🏻
yes Albanian has many words same like arabic, for example the brush in arabic is forshat, in albanian is furcha, the chestnut is kastana i arabic, in albanian is gashtanja, orphan is jetim in albanian also and so many other words.
Theth was so raw and primitive 20 years ago. All houses were made of stone( traditional Albanian style), but some European Organisation helped these villagers with grants to turn their houses in Guest houses as there were no accommodation in the village. It was really hard at the beginning. Highlanders were feeling ashamed to take money from travellers ( Albanian traditions tell you to invite every traveller or guests for free), but they were taught that this is a business and that's what they had to do. So, now all these modern buildings spruced up everywhere. Can't believe how much Theth has changed!
I don't know how long you want to stay in Albania but before you went dont forget to visit Pogradec and Korça. In Pogradec you can swim in Ohri lake and you can visit the Drilon park. In Korça you should visit the Pazar of Korça and Voskopoj and why not to test the traditional Bier with the same name (Korça)and traditional food from this place. ✌🏻
Hey, how's it going. I was in Albanian 2018. Beautiful country, people and weather. My girlfriend and I want to go back. Whats the current mood there now can you tell me please. What's the covid restrictions like?

This sounds a little like Islamic Law. You can either pay a sum of money to the deceased’s family or the deceased’s family could forgive you, which is a preferred action by God.
Well, it must have also been in the Christian Books of God. After all, we all just have one God, who sent all these prophets. We believe in all of them. It’s mankind that has chosen what suits them, and what to discard. What a shame! There’s a lot of beauty in this place you’re in, all round. Scenic natural beauty, spotlessly clean, the food scrumptious, the people straight from Heaven. What more can one want? I’d recommend this for honeymooners, or anyone who desires to be ‘away from the maddening crowd’. You made a good choice!
We miss Albania so much! So beautiful!!!
Spectacular!!!!! Keep safe, healthy and happy.

It took us about 3 hours in, and 2 hours to get out. Athough if we had a 4x4 vehicle, we could’ve driven more than half the way!

Yeah, pretty much. It’s seems fairly wild now but they had a similar thing in Germany we’ve learned through the comments here. Wow
🤣 no murderers there I think. Blood feud among families was sorted there 🤨

Nothing to do with islam. This law was written by a catholic called Lek(Alexander) Dukagjini. The germans had the same law called SIPPENHAFT.
