      Big moves, more time clicking inferno less videos!
      I do think the main lessons here are:
      1: dont chase nibs, barrage once then solve
      2: DPS DPS DPS, melee on ur ass? click it
      3: DPS DPS DPS, blob wrecking you? click it
      4: 95% of waves are fully solved by being able to 1t alternate (ranger + blob)/(mager + blob) especially.
      and some small things like, dont worry about supplies etc, but end of the day if things like melees are messing u up slap on rigour/potion/douple pipe spec and just ruin its day is ultimately a 100% viable and reliable thing to do : )

    Aaty my boy! 8 days into my inferno grind, and tonight I finally was able to reach Zuk! Only went into it with 1 brew and 1 1/4 restore, so I was able to get to healers, but I knew it wasn’t going to be the run as I didn’t have enough supplies. First attempt with triple Jads as well and they are a BREEZE. The 60’s waves are still pretty difficult for me, but I’m sure with more practice I won’t be touching my brews as much, and the run will come where I finally get my cape! Hoping this weekend I’ll be able to do it! I’ve only been running 1-2 attempts daily since starting, so tonight was my 9th total attempt, (not counting the two first days I spent just learning 1t alternating and how the monsters all work within the inferno), and we were finally able to make it to Zuk! Will be changing my setup to match yours for the prayer boost, as I’ve been using Justiciar Faceguard and Lightbearer, but all the same everywhere else. Thanks soooooo much for these walkthroughs Aaty brother, they are HUGE in my learning and understanding of the inferno! Cape coming soon! Will update once it is obtained!

    2:36:15 / 2:37:49 curious about how you can intuitively know a melee is off-tickable. I'm sure it's second nature from all the speeds/no pillars, and obviously isn't make or break for getting a first cape, but was interested in what you look for

    • @aatykon
      @aatykon  Год назад +3

      this wasn't a case of intuition - i was watching the ranger and the melee simultaneously to visually affirm their cycles, i grant it's not really a first cape thing and some waves just happen too fast for me to make a "perfect" solution that works for all first capers. In general even in speeds I'll visually check blobs vs my prayers and any other npcs, once i know an npc is on cycle - assuming im continuing all i have to do is ontick/fix the bad npcs and i can ignore the ontick ones.
      if a melee is pathing towards me and an npc is attacking me that's definitly closer to intuition by experience but considering there's essentially a 1/4 chance its on the same tick the default is to assume its offtick (also almost all melees are offtickable purely by virtue of starting on the kelvino (50+ start tile) or north side eastern tile (corner trap tile). So purely by chance pretty much 100% of melees should be offtickable if using north pillar.

    • @aatykon
      @aatykon  Год назад +6

      fwiw to add to this, to not confuse anyone going for first cape - if in doubt rigour on double pipe spec and click it, try watch for flicks or brew -> click melee repeat until either you or it dies

    Thank you very much for these videos, I have recently started attempts myself and have gotten to late 40s in first few attempts because of these videos. I am struggeling to 1t alternate and its almost all of my deaths at the moment I can sometimes do it but its not very consistant. I am trying to watch the mage and ranger for their attack animation before switching with the ranger standing up straight and the mager flicker underneath, when you start alternating are you switching from range/mage on the tick they attack or is it 1 tick after?

    • @aatykon
      @aatykon  Год назад +3

      prayers activate 1 tick after you click them, so for alternating you can react based on the mager attack but it's less of a window than simply learning the timing - you can test stacks or alternation by moving out for 1 tick then back in, which allows you get a feel for the attack timing of the back npc - you might see me show this in some of the late waves, but that's the best way to get a distinct feel of attack timing

      thanks! i will say i dont think knowing the wave number is particularly useful - all the tricks and solves that make use of different npc positions and such apply universally so a trick on wave 15 may apply to wave 63. Taking each wave as it comes instead of trying to copy specific solves is much better overall since first capers will almost never see two identical waves.
      i can appreciate its not easy to figure out where you are just skipping through though

    i'm trying to get my timing correctly for 1 tick alternating can you correct me if i'm wrong:
    range/blob stack - pray range and start alternating when the ranger dips down
    mage/blob stack - pray mage and start alternating when the mage ball starts to fire
    mage/range stack - same as mage/blob stack
    also for blobs, if you're up close do you wait 1 tick then switch prayers? i keep getting this timing wrong. i know from afar you can change prayers straight away when you get hit

    • @aatykon
      @aatykon  Год назад +2

      for blobs yes wait 1-2 ticks then switch
      for the stacks, i dont know of any clear indicators to go by, the best way is to test a stack by moving out on the correct tile and seeing which one attacks you, then you can get used to that timing before moving out to continue the flick
      if you're waiting to see animations you're likely always going to be behind, so just try get a feeling instead of a specific action, if in doubt camp mage/range until the second cycle of the npc, and count 4 ticks so you know when its about to fire

    • @aatykon
      @aatykon  Год назад +3

      Torva plate/bcp both work exceptionally well as a supplemental switch for 50+ and/or tanking ranger at zuk. In tight spots you can fully camp it and it's got a good chance to save you - especially vs rangers and melee. It will however make you a bit more susceptible to blob mage hits so purely camp mage pray if you're in a nightmare scenario.
      Al that said and done I wouldn't consider it to ever be a necessary item, and only a useful one if you've been to jads/zuk at least once and have a feel for solving late waves.

      Quite unnecessary if you're only just going for gm speed - it's likely you take damage and brew the benefit away at some point, taking 1 divine bast for 66+ and 1/2 regular bastion is considered better, and repot around 105/6 to get a decent boost. • @aatykon
      @aatykon  Год назад +1

      the waves are easily solved with minimal damage provided a player takes a few minutes to learn a few simple solves and tricks. Justi takes up inventory slots, reduces dps greatly, encourages a reliance on tanking instead of solving waves, and couples with other bad habits like using sgs/eldritch/lightbearer/running to south pillar/nibbler chasing etc.
      it's essentially a giant noob trap that ends up having players spend much greater amounts of time getting their cape, rather than the ~10-15 attempts across ~7 days that it should take on average.
      Ask the avg justi caper how long it took and the answer will be several weeks, with anywhere from 2-4 hours per attempt milking/tanking etc. Encouraging good habits, solves, and a learning attitude with regards to content that is much easier than people really think it is is a vastly better way to go about things.

      Can you show me a timestamp where I do that? A lot of the time certain actions like moving to a specific safespot isn't something I can dumb down - rather you'd need to sit and practice with a single melee for a bit to get used to it.
      In general the bottom line is "1 barrage, isolate biggest npc, dps the remaining problem".

    Hello, I was wondering if someone with very little pvm skills is capable of following your guides and achieving the cape? I have had max cape since 2017 and have yet to even try inferno but it is something I would really like to get but I feel my pvm skills lack a lot, the hardest thing I have done is Phosani's Nightmare at 13 kc but took me almost 35 deaths to get first kc. I worry I may lack the pvm knowledge to achieve the cape but I want to follow your gear setup and study your guide and try it myself since the way you do it seems very simplified compared to other guides. I know it is going to be a huge pain to learn but I want to at least give it a few attempts throughout the week. Also, should I be using fullscreen or windowed? I always play fullscreen but a lot of people tell me it is a lot better if I play in a smaller window for pvm. I always found it hard to do things like Sara or Muspah in a tiny window since it involves a lot of running around. Thank you in advance for you reply and I hope to be able to get the cape following your runs and gear.

      In short: Yes!
      But considering what you've laid out I'd recommend trying some other content prior and attempting to up your skillset a little.
      Gauntlet/cgauntlet/demonics/zulrah/sepulchre/phosani/toa 200 raid lvl plus are all amazing training grounds to get good and improve, doing ~100 of each as a precursor to inferno would be my suggestion.
      In terms of improving apply this:
      1: good settings
      2: attempt to take yourself out of your comfort zone
      3: put in time
      Follow that and practice a bit and you'll improve dramatically. I know a few people who upped their raid level at toa over a few months and that in particular did wonders. Very accessible and easy to ramp up.
      Settings wise, fullscreen is mega bad. You don't need to play on fixed but about 1.5-2x fixed would be the largest size before it begins to cause major problems. Its a compounding effect of eye and mouse coordination across increasing vital points on your client window where the distance increases larger the window.
      I'd suggest something like: 1200x800 give or take as maximum.
      In addition mouse settings will impact you badly:
      Winsens should always be 6/11 no acceleration on. Dpi shouldn't really be more than 1600, but there is some wiggle room. For reference I play 400 and that's the low end.
      These changes if you want to try them will take ~3 days to get used to. If you're doing other content to improve skills you'll get used to it there.
      Final note - all this is cool n all but you 100% can simply jump into inferno as you are and get a cape
      I might take 2 or 3 months if you're working from scratch but you absolutely can do it.
      Whether you want to spend 3 days getting used to settings and another month practicing some useful pvm encounters or if you want to spend 2 to 3 on inferno alone is up to you.
      I know this all sound a bit much but just pick and choose your route, do the bosses you enjoy and dip your toes into inferno when you're ready, spend a day on it and see how it feels then maybe keep going if its not too bad or run it back with some of the earlier bosses if not.
      Essay over, gl!

      @@aatykon thank you for the in depth reply! I think maybe I will try some harder bosses and learn them. I haven't really done any grinds for bosses. I can do Zulrah easily as well as Muspah and I do demonics often but I have never done a raid before (rip achievement cape 2019) and most bosses I have done don't really require much brain cells to kill. Maybe I should look into more boss grinds, I never tried sepulcher as well. I want to get more into pvm but after maxing I decided to make alts and get 99's again while going for 200ms on the main and never really touched difficult content until I decided to learn Phosanis. Phosanis was a huge headache for me even with a scythe, I still get 13 minute kills with scythe and people don't understand how I get such long kills with a scythe. I might try and lean CG since it's technically free, I have like 4 normal gauntlet kc but haven't went back to it in a few months. I might dabble in the inferno just to see how much pain I'm dealing with, it looks easy when someone with 300 kc does it but it's a whole new game when I try it out. I will try to play on windowed as well, I normally play on windowed with half of my screen for my main and the other half for my alt and I play 800 dpi since I play on my alts it feels a little less forceful to move my mouse across the screen to do something on my alt while I feel I don't miss click from what I am doing pvm wise. Thank you for the advice and I will try and learn some new bosses, maybe try and learn toa as well.

      Hi, I have one more question, do you use stretched mode or ui scaling? When I use fullscreen I have always used resizeable with 50% ui scale, playing in windowed with the ui upscale makes everything really close together, your ui seems to be spaced a bit from each other while mine is like the inventory and bottom map orbs overlap together, I'm not sure if I should be using stretched mode scaling or not

    • @aatykon
      @aatykon  Год назад +1

      @@FuuwahVT i use neither, as you say the smaller they get the worse it is. getting used to the normal/small size inventory/everything will help over time as it's easier to get the clicks off in that smaller window.

    • @FuuwahVT
      @FuuwahVT Год назад

      @@aatykon okay thank you for replying, I don't want to ask too many questions but I was just curious because I was trying to play in windowed with the ui scaling turned up and it felt way too cluttered, I will turn off the ui scaling and try it, turning it off makes it look more like your setup and I was using 1200 x 800 window, I just wanted to make sure if you were using those or not so I don't get use to something that's making the screen worse when smaller

      @@aatykon I have never made it to jads, I have died on wave 63 quite a few times. I can’t seem to figure it out fast enough, and the 1 time I did “solve” it I lost my pillar and couldn’t flick out of it. I don’t have a nice computer so I can’t record unfortunately. I still get nerves too, seems to get worse the longer I keep failing… unfortunately I’ve gotten to the point where if I don’t have this cape I don’t want to continue playing the game

      the game is much more than the cape, you can go do 1000 raids then return down the road if you really wanted. One thing that might help is streaming runs to inferno discord at 360p/480p, as long as its enough to see outlines of npcs we can help with solves and ideas.@@TheSaturdayNights
