Don’t-understand the shitstorm here about Gabrielle’s hair. It is very 1980s. Loved the 80s ! Fun episode with brave humorous and diverse artists.
My question is how she can stand having all of that hair covering her eye...any hair blocking the full view of something would drive me crazy

What are you talking about? Absolutely NOT 80s.
She has the drooping of her right eye, called ptosis. She therefore likes to cover it up.

Whoever got Gabrielle as a sitter got very lucky, very hard to get her likeness wrong due to the hair lol
you come to have your portrait painted and more than half of your face is covered with hair…crazy!!
Covering or half covering her one eye seems to have been a visual trademark of Gabrielle's since way back when -- so I think it's necessary for any real portrait of her. And the artists did a lot with the half face they could see. A good challenge.

They’re tasked with creating a portrait of the chosen sitter. If the chosen sitter typically wears a hairstyle that covers part of their face then it would be contrived and dishonest to portray them otherwise.

@@shara-la8629I'm on the other end of the age spectrum and not a Brit so I've never heard of her. I thought the hair over the face was just a quirk from an artist's mind. But I did google her and read about her problems with her eye. As a 71 year old psychologist the way she copes with her eyelid problem could be handled in a less conspicuous manner. This hair over half her face only draws attention and speculation. But each of us is free to deal with our insecurities in whatever way we can.

@@shara-la8629 so, you knew about a celebrity that I didn't know about? 🤷🏽 so what? I've lived an off grid life for the last 30 years so there's lots of that kind of stuff that has no meaning to me. My idea of the hair over the face as an artistic quirk was intriguing to me the hiding of a lazy eye, less so.

He gave you two eyes so you can Google the women, and find out in second why.
Your title makes it sound like it's an American show. 'Battle' and "Clash' would not exactly be the words that work for this.
