I think I like the frilly one best. Heavy rain doesn’t seem to mangle it.

As kid I would remove the cap of each and every poppy to reveal them, I love poppies so much and your garden looks so great

Your yard is exploding with growth as is mine. We have had a ton of rain but it will give us a great head start for the Summer. Pretty yard Brie

The only thing about direct seeding is that the conditions have to be just perfect. I’ve had success with poppies in the past, but the ones I sowed last fall ended up succumbing to a weird stretch of warm, dry, windy weather. I put down more seeds and those are coming along, but I also sowed some in pots, inspired by Matt Mattus. I planted them out last week, and we’ve had cool, rainy weather since then. They seem to be adjusting just fine.

You can direct seed in pots outside no transplanting needed. I’ve demonstrated that this year quite successfully.

@@BrieThePlantLady sure, I get that. I want them in the ground though in some spots. I have to run out and water I guess if it gets dry. But I’d have to do that with pots as well. Like I said, the little transplants are adjusting well, thanks to the ideal weather ATM. I think, like with all gardening, site and weather are king.

I don’t know how you do it all! It’s looking great! I’m excited to see the native plants as well.

    Brie,
Are the oats Sea Oats? Do all varieties of oats have a nodding habit or just Sea Oats?
    Thank you. 😊
