Gotta admit it's great being able to do things I'll forget to prep for within an hour. Especially the customer assistance. Show them respect and they'll help in every way they can. Even at most businesses all employees are required to focus on keeping customers happy so they don't try using another franchise.

A lot of euros say american kindness is "fake" because they cant comprehend people being nice because they actually are nice lol. They get so offended at the idea of making friends. Most people actually like having pleasant interactions. Its so crazy to me someone would get mad that other people are happy lol. Smiles may be contagious but its not the disease europeans make them out to be. Also most euros dont really understand tipping. They think employees make less than minimum wage but ive known 19 year old hostess's who make more than doctors in the UK because they get tips. And even if for some reason they get 0 tips, they are legally obligated to pay AT least minimum wage. Of course that would never happen because servers make far more than you expect. Even the worst servers will make 100+ in tips a day. Ive seen people make that much off a single table if its a large party.

I was born in America and lived here my whole life. I never COULD stand the feeling of working in a walk-in freezer when the menopausal co-workers wanted relief against their hot flashes. I looked forward to autumn, when the heat would come on and burn off the dust on the radiators!

The kind you have is not as popular unless you have rooms where you can’t have duct work. We call the ones you have “splitters”. I have one in my garage and one in the apartment above it. They work great! But my house has central heat and AC. I wouldn’t want to live without AC 😊

In New York we need AC and heating we get both end's of the spectrum in terms of weather. Snow, 90F/32C + temps etc..........

So I work part time as a server bc I'm trying to buy a house. I perfer tips rather than a standard wage. Most of the time, I am in charge of my own destiny. You get better customer service. If I was on a salary, I'd probably wouldn't cae as much. Seattle implmented a flat $20 an hour with no tipping, restaurants went out of buisness or had to charge way higher prices. Today is veterns day, I world from 6:30 to 12:30, yes, I BUSTED my butt off, but made $436 in 6 hours. That's alot mr then $20 an hour.

The thing about food in America, cultures from around the world bring their cuisine here. You will always find authentic food from around the world in every town almost. You will also find Americanized food in every town too like Taco Bell.

Coastal cities, big cities do cost more.
I'm from Ohio and you can get very large homes for very reasonable cost. In good areas as well.

Come on, Mert. I never heard anybody complain about having to drive here. The other way would be miserable. Waiting for public transportation and being crowded sitting wiith other people. Now that would be a nightmare. Driving yourself is instant gratification. In your own space listening to your music, with the a/c or the heater on, inside your clean private place and when you get where your are going you park right by the entrance. I have not riden a bus since I was a teenager or maybe the school bus in elementary school.

With the exception of the Pacific Northwest, most Americans are generally nice people. Because we are such a multi-cultural country, we like learning about others and sharing.

It's always interesting getting a different perspective from someone from a different country. As someone who has lived in the USA my entire life, but is always online, i would argue that 70% of the time needs overcomes wants, but that USA prioritizes wants over needs. This means that a fair amount of people have things here that other countries would view as extravagant, but the flip side of that is a lot more struggle with the basic necessities. I would actually prefer having those flipped, but... I don't speak for a nation.

I'm from Ohio, right along Lake Erie. It's a beautiful state, but most of the US is. No dangerous animals or insects. A lot of forests and parks. A few decent sized cities and a lot of country. Plus the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the NFL Hall of Fame. The best amusement park in the world, Cedar Point.

I have never ever set my home A/C to 60-65 degrees in the summer. Number 1: I couldn’t afford the electric bill, Number 2: it would be too cold. I don’t think anyone sets it that low. But yes, sometimes the stores are freezing cold. Reliable Public transportation in the states is basically non existent unless you’re in a major city. Sure we have buses and limited train service but nothing like Europe. You absolutely need a car. Neighborhood pools are not common. Sometimes there’s a community pool operated by the municipal park district. Lots of apartment buildings used to have pools but many of them have been removed due to liability. But yes, in more affluent areas people have their own personal pools. I’m not one of them! Where I live I can get authentic Mexican food. Lots of Mexican immigrants here. Yep, drive through everything.

Also need to remember, 330 million people!!!!!! Need more additives, more cars, more food, bigger families, bigger cars. We are looked down on because of our size, not our fault other countries aren’t our size.

My parents owned a restaurant and I was a server through out college and I promise you every server would rather rely on tips than 15-20/hr. We just make more with tips than an hourly wage, especially since Americans are pretty good about tipping. I could make 300$ a night just in tips

The latitude of countries don't matter. States like New York still get 3 more feet of snow every year than the UK. Even Minnesota gets colder than coastal parts of Alaska. It's all about the geography makeup of the places.

As a rule I like good customer service but sometimes people go too far.. For example, once I went out with my family for my birthday to a restaurant and the host took it upon himself to sit down at our table to talk and we couldn't get him to leave without being rude.. (It wasn't busy at the time).. I feel very uncomfortable eating in front of strangers, especially if they aren't eating and it kinda ruined the experience..

Homes generally have central AC but it honestly depends. Its different for everyone based on personal tastes, their state, etc.
For example my apartments in california all were required to have AC already installed but in Oregon you have to buy your own cause its always rainy here. Been hotter lately though cause climate change

Unfortunately, if the USA passed a law to pay servers minimum wage, the cost of dining out would at least double. Thats one thing most people dont realize. We are used to the prices so we dont realize that its actually very cheap in comparison.

I have central a/c and heat. I can deal with being cold in the winter but I hate being hot in the summer. High temps last year hit 102 Celsius and -10 Celsius for the low. I get both extremes.

Yes I wouldn't live in a place of rudeness. I think it's special and there really could be no wrong in kindness.
Tipping. My friend made $ 300 in just one night in tips.
And the good customer service goes beyond tipping/food. It's everywhere. It's who we are. Just be kind.

Don’t ever forget, move to America and anything you can imagine is possible. You can be super successful if you work hard. You can be average if you want. You can be migrant. You can live in a van and travel the country. The true land of opportunity. Are there huge negatives here? Yes. You can’t dwell on negativity. There are negatives in every country. But the positives here are unmatched across the globe.

As someone who lives in Utah, I know for a fact that if I lived in the Netherlands, I would be happier and more fulfilled on average. We really need to stop speaking as if the median person isn't the median person. A single billionaire does not make up for a million homeless. Frankly, it makes it worse in my opinion.

Our hard work in ww2 to save the world from Germany made us a country of convenience and hard work. I don’t know why tipping is so bad. It makes the dining experience. Bad service bad tip, great service great tip. She just said customer service is bad in Europe. Maybe working for your money would make you appreciate the customer and not be relying on hourly wage that makes you lazy and uncaring.

I live in Utah which is a mix of mountains and desert. A/C and heating units are a must. Especially when it can get over boiling point on some days in the summer or well below freezing point. But there were times as a university student where I had sneezed a bit due to how cold they set the A/C to. As for customer service, that'll depend on what you're dealing with. Because just like anywhere else, there's gonna be someone who's gonna give ya a hard time. I actually ran into a sexist pharmacist once. Not pleasant. And compared to other Asian cultures (I am of Chinese descent myself), the positive mindset and spontaneousness is night and day. Most Asians are reserved, super polite and well-mannered. Most every other American I ran into is the exact opposite. Quite unsettling at times when you want to mind your P's and Q's without anyone getting too nosy.
