original one's drumming is so simple which is disappointing don't get me wrong i love the song but it's drumming sounds like a 14yrs old beginner kid played it 1basskick and 3snare without fills like some kind of commercial pop song, nothing creative about the drumming of this song.

It's not really delayed I think your ears are tricking you, it's just not mixed very well and the drums are a lot louder causing it to seem off he generally keeps good time throughout
When it comes to drumming, there's no right or a wrong way to hold the sticks. It's all up to the drummer. I usually hold the real drum sticks just any other drummer, but with the iPad sticks I have to hold them like that so the touch sensor can work without missing taps.
