This woman has the most incredible voice I've ever heard. I first heard her sing during the movie rent .I could not believe the power in this womans voice she gave me goose bumps,now after seeing her perform Let itgo, from the movie Frozen I am a huge fan I would buy anything she sings her talent is amazing.

Well Shoshana Bean (replacement and standby for Idina) took over the role of Elphaba the day of her last show. She played the part mostly and her last scene she was onstage was when she melted. When Fiyero opened the trap, Shoshana didn't come out. Idina came out in a Red Track Suit. At Curtain Call, Joe Mantello made a very special speech for her and went out the Stage DOor for the last time.
She makes me laugh! I was sooo gutted, me and my friends missed her by two weeks in Wicked at the Apollo Vic in London, we could not get tickets to see it before she left for love nor money! I hope she comes back to the UK for some concerts or something.

@btoolie Actually that's incorrect, they have to be at the theatre or in a certain distance and in constant contact but they don't get dressed and do the green makeup on the standby every night. They are just always available to go on and that way they don't have to take off ensemble stuff they can go ahead and put the green makeup on her.

What does she say around 1.20, somthing about the woman being a substitute, doing the best she can...then in a small voice, it sounds like "i know her", but i cant figure it... anyone know??

That's Right. Standby's stay in the Theatre and watch the show backstage evrey night and if there is an injury or someone is out, the Standby goes on.
