All sessions are like that. It's just part of playing with different folks who have different strokes..(and varying ideas about the importance of tuning..)
Go to the little wheel in the upper right corner and you can slow the tune down to whatever speed suits your need and play along with the Good Tune guys!
Fabulous performance. My impression is that the fiddle is mostly the sheet music, the black and white dots. The guitar adds a wonderful array of color that’s rarely heard in this genre.
The fiddler’s swing and drive and flow are beyond subtle and effective. He’s doing so much more than just playing the dots, and his bow technique is something that takes years of practice and careful attention to the tradition. The best players in this genre always incorporate a wonderful array of color. These guys are just great. Goals.
This is so wonderful! I’m glad to have discovered this tune’s name as I know it from Steeleye Span’s ‘Four Nights Drunk’ song, in which I think they repurposed this melody for the lyrics. Beautiful playing and recording! 😊🎶 (and.. subscribed! 😃)
Yes, the reel has many names:4 Nights Drunk 4 Drunken Nights, , Byrne’s, Primrose Lass,, The Primrose Lassies Highland Fling, The Primrose Lassies. This version is a joy - ‘stripped back to basics and a lovely gentle pace and rhythm
I've never heard this one before- superb! Would you ever consider the 'mystery inch' jig or the 'red haired lass' (slow reel) ?? In any case, many thumbs up 👍👍👍
Beautiful! But I know it as an Irish ditty titled "Seven Drunken Nights". The words are about the unlikely and scandalous things a man finds when he comes home drunk. 😊 I wonder which name and version came first?
I don't hear that at all. Well, certainly not The Dubliners ' version of that song. And I don't like the song one bit. You've just defiled this beautiful piece! 😢
You’re thinking of ‘Four Nights Drunk’ by Steeleye Span! Exactly what I was reminded of as well 😃I love that song and I believe they repurposed this melody for the lyrics. ☺️🎶
Lovely, its wonderful how it manages to sound joyful and a little sad at the same time
That sums up Irish music for me, well said.
I ran out of superlatives for you two a long time ago. That was a wonderful version of that tune!
This is how its done. Too bad the sessions i have gone to are a fast sloppy mess. I wish i could play with these guys !!!!!!!

Really beautiful. And nice to hear a reel played this smooth way. No rush, just beautiful harmonies and quiete guitar playing.
Wow so beautiful. And that guitar solo... so good!
Ohhh - that is just gorgeous!!! Thank you! 😁
Gorgeous as ever, chaps!
Lovely performance of one of my favourite tunes!
Lovely warmth in the sound. We know it's great playing but shout out to the mic work too, it's a lovely balance 😀

So beautiful. (one of my favourite tunes anyways, but this performance is amazing)
I'll try Sebastian's guitar part tonight!
It's terrific. Keen to know the guitar tuning
@@iainbremner8909Pretty sure it’s standard tuning with capo on 5th fret
Just beautiful. Thank you so much for the music.
Fantastic what a nice gentle relaxing sound.
