Wow... when you were at the hot springs self reflecting on thoughts, that was really beautiful. I am not prone to crowded places as I am an introvert but the way you put it made me wanna go there, and to Dieng as whole. The peacefulness and having conversations (philosophical thoughts) in your head while at the same time being in a calm place sounds joyous to me. As an Indonesian, it is true, like your wife said, we sometimes don't really feel anything with our surroundings and nature because we're used to it. Gratefulness (rasa terima kasih kepada Tuhan, specifically) is something that is taught in different religions in Indonesia a lot, and even though sometimes we might forget, I think we should be even more aware of our nature and surroundings so we can continue preserving for future generations. Beautiful video and love your detailed descriptions and thoughts of what you experienced, thank you for this snapshot of your journey to Dieng!

I'm from Bandung and was visited Dieng, it's beautiful. But, actually the Swiss of Java is Garut, West Java. Garut as "Swiss Van Java" was popularized by a Dutch painter or photographer named Thilly Weissenborn who once lived in Garut in the 20th century. Thilly Weissenborn was known as a female photographer who had captured and taken many pictures of the beauty of nature, not only in Garut or Java but also outside Java. Even the famous Charlie Chaplin has visited Garut back in 1932.
Banyak kisah Mythology di Dieng. Banyak peninggalan berupa candi dan lainnya terkait itu. Kami senang pergi ke sana untuk menikmati suasana, pemandangan, dan candi-candi nya. 🎉🎉🎉❤
When I visited Dieng for the first time (in mid 2000s, more or less), our family stayed in a local's house (and yeah, we stayed together with the homeowner 😆), as recommended by our travel guide back then, so indeed...tourism infrastructure in Dieng proper (esp. related to accommodations like inns and hotels) have come quite a long way. Dunno about bigger hotels possibility in Dieng itself, but if one wants to stay at bigger hotels one can usually stay at Wonosobo. I forgot if I ever visited Tambi tea plantation (maybe I have, but again I forgot 😅😆), but I have been to most spots you visited here, except for the hot spring pool (that seems new to me) and the sunrise spot (we passed by when we first arrived at Dieng, but we ended up going to Sikunir for sunrise, and back then it was only visited by few people, so not crowded at all 😏). Back then there was no hot spring spots at all IIRC (except for the boiling hot water craters at Sikidang), which is a bit sad because I always enjoy a hot spring visit 😺 Other than caricas, mushroom chips and potatoes are typical Dieng souvenirs too! My mom bought lots of potatoes to bring home (Dieng is the center of potato cultivation in Java thanks to its elevation and climate). Mushroom was a popular agriculture commodity too, though now it isn't as widespread as potatoes somehow. This brings lots of my memories traveling to Dieng, thanks for the video Kamil!
