This is a rare example of a singer not using any voice software, not even reverb, something which everyone uses nowadays.

Completely disagree. Most bands dont use enough autotune to make much of a difference. Most solo artists do. For some reason the bands tend to duck the autotune which is a good thing but. The only band I can even think of that uses even the slightest bit of autotune is The Amity Affliction. Even they dont use it all the time.

Just Waffles Bro most singers, including in metal, use reverb. All it does is echoes the voice slightly giving the effect that their voice is louder. Useful when you are trying to outsing instruments.

In this video his singing is poor.

top_acm might be towards the end of the show, and when you've been screaming for a couple of hours it's expected for the quality of his voice to be worse. I actually never stated his singing was good here, just that it's a rare example of someone not using any voice processing software.

@Joshua Higham if your screaming technique is fine you won't have problems with that.

"Sam needs to work on his live vocals" Bro, do you understand how DIFFICULT these words are to SPEAK much less try and SING? The fact that he can power through this and sound even remotely like he does on the album is an INCREDIBLE testament to how AMAZING of a person Sam Carter is..

lol, seriously his live singing is far from being good xD check bullet for my valentine for example. in their prime, they were SO GOOD in live compared to architects... even though i really prefer the style of architects... i admit their lives (the singing) isn't good

I guess he was a little bit drunk here.
This is one from his worst performances

@@csongorzsedely8655 No it was not. I would say the opposite. He wasn't drunk, this is just a hard ass song to sing.

"I gave everything for this phantom limb" refers to Dan losing the inseperable bond he had with his brother which he invested everything into, due to his death. They were twins and spent hardly any time apart throughout their lives so he felt like more than just a brother. "Now it's time to sink or swim" refers to being conflicted on how to deal with the grief, whether it's worth persevering in the face of a terrible situation or folding.
