THIS is what I love in a master craftsman. Quiet, unassuming, but obsessed with getting the details right by keeping the production scale small, with no fear of attempting new heights to boot.
It's just a shame I like my basses like I do my sports cars: sleek, shiny, and sharp.
After seeing this video, I'm tempted to spend a couple months salary on an Adamovic bass.
I am sold on this mans attention to detail. Great stuff!
It’s absolutely worth it. Love my Adamovic basses!!
Adamovic makes highend basses and delivers highend service.
I highly recommend him and his basses !!!!
I'm really really falling in love with this man's basses.
Great movie! Nikola builds outstanding basses.
degierguitarsbasses Thanks Sander :)
I want to try out one of Adamovic's basses for no other reason than I like how he comes across.
I think his approach is fantastic, and the quality obviously speaks for itself. One of my criticisms of most luthiers is that they drown customers in choice, and (for example) we're left to guess what the different electronics will sound like with their instruments. It's all well and good to give people a long list of electronic brands, but when we've only heard them in other instruments it's impossible for us to know which one works best. That's why it's better for the luthier to have fewer options and make the decision for us - they're going to know their designs better than anyone. It also helps keep costs down.
Great work Nicola! I'm afraid I love the instruments I have at the moment, but I'd love to own some of yours one day :)
I have a hollow 33 fretless 5 coming this week and another Adamovic 5 string on order coming early next year. This video makes me feel like a made a good choice going with his instruments.
lucky you!
Loved this video. The guy seems like a true artisan.
Man, those woods are sublime. Maybe I'm not too much into his designs, but that's some great craftsmanship.
Thanks so much for making this! Love Adamovics so much! And excited about the rest of the series!
This spectacular bass has been used by a young Japanese band called D.A.N. sound so amazing, completely different from Fender bass or Fodera bass but adamovic has got great tone. Thank you for making spectacular instruments.
literally sitting here drooling over his website. the most beautiful instruments i have ever seen. Im a hardcore warwick fan but my god how beautiful. not stupid expensive, although a three year wait time is a stretch
Thank you very much for sharing.
I dream of playing in a Halo bass someday.
Very informative. I hope that one day I can pick one up and play.
Excellent video, I'm looking to invest in a custom bass and this really helps out. Also, Eric Czar could demo any bass and make it sound fantastic but Adamovic just seem incredible.
Im not trying to prolong any ongoing debates about the mystical tone woods or the musical properties of certain woods, however i think its more scientific than that. I believe that the density of woods and their resonate properties can effect how an instrument can sound especially in bass guitars. Porous woods for example Mahogany might allow more resonance to pass through them allowing for more resonance from the strings and would allow the pick ups more ample opportunity to do what they are intended to do. Whereas, Dense woods for example Walnut, and ebony would act more as a barrier or a stop to the resonance. with this being said using these principles one should incorporate the shaping of the woods in such a way that resonance should pass through the softer woods and then be stopped or suppressed by the hard woods working to contain the sound throughout the softer wood. Sound is emitted from the strings it expands through the soft wood then the resonance/sound comes into contact with the hard wood and is then focused or bounced back to the strings and the magnetic field emitting from the pickup therefore containing the sound and holding onto the resonance and building the tone and sustain. I may be wrong there may just be some magical wood properties that simply harry potter the right tone who knows. I for one am keen on trying my theories by designing a shape and contour to put this into practice.
I'm learning the art myself to make it my lifetime job and this video was really interesting and full of useful information!
So amazing! I wish I could experience the sound of each one and I would buy each type if I could.
I see you're wearing a Mayones Guitar T-Shirt while promoting Adamovic. LOL!
the body design was pioneered by fodera nyc.
I'm from Haarlem :D! I hope you had a good time here, but as far as I know there isn't really much to see here except for the Saint Bavo church
Haarlem is a great town, I enjoyed every minute. Altough I spent most of the time in Nikolas shop.
These basses are bad ass. ...I'm green with envy I'm literally drooling. ,,,
Boss.
Thanks.
THREE YEARS! Wow, that's a long time to dry wood... but these basses must be worth the wait and every penny that you pay to get one
WOW
Omg this is ausome
Beautiful sounding and gorgeous looking basses.......Nikola has Tim Robbins looks (atleast for me :-D)
What are the differences between a single cut vs a double cut? Why would someone choose a single cut body??
Is he a Croatian?
is that a 12 string bass (cheap trick, rick nielson) behind you?
I love to watch these videos and then hate when I go to the websites and see the cost :/
Is there a video that talks about the 12 string behind you?
not yet.... but I'll do a full review for it in the next weeks. Expect it in round about 1 month.
Thank's!
Is that Purple Heart fretless custom made? I'd sure like one!
Yes
How do we get prices?
pistachio fretboard?
Great! Do they build lefties?
Of course
Hi Gregor, can you do another studio review? Thanks :)
do you mean a new "I show off my gear" video ;) or another product review? In case it's the reviews.... in 2 weeks I'll release a review about the Gallien Krueger MB800, that I'm working on right now.

Chek Dalibor Milos Vucic - Wood Guerilla
Funny, he is talking up Adomovic basses while wearing a Mayones t shirt.
This video.. Honestly, its the disrespecting of other brands why i can't watch to the end. The "unlike other brands" comments.
Well, that's not disrespecting when it's factual.
