Peak of 1970s string machines, that combination of the soft strings with the flute mono lead at 3:00 induces emotions I haven't felt with any other stringer
yeah, anything would sound good if you are plastered!!! I get far better sounds from my Korg Krome ,& roland & Yamaha MODX7 ( 7 I CAN PLAY A LOT BETTER THAN THIS CRAP)
I'm so digging this synth. That whole creepy mid-70's horror movie demonic funeral haunted mansion/factory/asylum feel from the Sawtooth with the ethereal other sounds over the top of it.
I'm building myself one of these. I'm totally digging the Klaus Schulze sound. I've just converted all the Original schematics in Eagle and have almost all of the Original NOS components lying around. It won't be an exact copy because I'll add some other stuff to it, like the voice section of the VP330 and a vocoder and probably add another octave.
***** It is planned as a winter project, so I haven't made the PCB's yet. The work in Eagle is ready for some time, but not checked for errors which I have to do before I start making the PCB's. I won't use the the top octave generator chips but an alternative circuit from some german guy. Did you have the service manual yet?
The piece you are reffering to is heavily inspired by an iconic album from the seventies. Listen to the album MOONDAWN from KLAUS SCHULZE (1976). You will recognize this haunting piece among others. K.S. used the Farfisa Syntorchestra through the whole album together with ARP 2600, VCS3 and other synths. One of my favorite electronic music albums.
@@AnalogAudio1 Yes,I thought there was some Klaus Schulze influence there.I'm quite familiar with Moondawn,(and Klause Sculze), and your piece reminds me of Mindphaser from that album. One of my favorite electronic music albums also, along with Mirage.Your piece is still very beautiful and haunting though in it's own way. It's a dream of mine to own a Farfisa Syntorchestra one day. There's nothing quite like it and can produce sounds (as you say) that you can't get from any other synth.Anyway, thanks for sharing your demos. They are most enjoyable and this is my favorite of yours.
I am pretty sure this was heavily used in one of the strangest soundtrack works out there, Burial Ground or Le notti del terrore. One of my favorite machines for that era.
Just a quick question: Does the mono section always create a faint background sound (the last played key) when no keys are pressed on your Syntorchestra? I have been working on one lately and that's a problem I haven't been able to fix, and have started to wonder whether it is a "feature" of this synth (which doesn't have VCA at all but relies on closing the filter on output). Thanks for a great demo!
@@AnalogAudio1 what type farfisa is used on oxygene? on the instrument list just 'FARFISA' is indicated but no type.... Vangelis is very well recognisable! specially the Cosmos-tracks

Hey AA1, what are the differences between the Farfisa Syntorchestra 4 and the one you are playing ? Have you ever played the former ? What do you think of it ? Thanks for your help !
well, my Farfisa Soundmaker was partly defective (you can't notice this in the video), and I sold it. It was quite heavy and bulky (27 kg). The Syntorchestra 4 does almost the same in a smaller package. I regret selling the Syntorchestra 4, it was like new. I hope to see one again, but it's very rare. Yes, I had also the wooden version of this. But I prefer the metal version.
I met someone in Italy that sells his Syntorchestra 4. I can ask for the price if you want. Also, why did you prefer the metal over the wood one for the original Syntorchestra ? Any sonic difference ?

Exactly that is the magic here... very simple but unbelievable deep. But also important is the right musician and good effects ;-)
That magical sound heard on Ashra - New Age of Earth (1976). One of the best.
man ... i Just came home a little drunk and these are some of the most wonderful sounds i ever heard
me too

Porco dio ragazzi ne ho una di queste, mi era stata regalata, per un favore che aveva fatto mio padre 35 anni fA
@@seanogrady2870 You did just make yourself come across as a bit of a douche though ... Another point for AnalogAudio1!
the buzz of the poly section is such a great background for the high sweep of the mono synth. yum
+tngregory yes! :-)
This synth was used a lot by Vangelis in his "Albedo 0.39" album.

Dude please share your work on like muffwigglers or something, I would love to do this too! The sound is incredible!
+1!!!
ive been after one of these for so long , seems so out of reach in 2023 , just love the otherwordly sound to this , no other synth compares
Exactly, it's simply magic - so simple and a so unique at the same time.
Boundless beauty......
Oh wow, I love those sounds! Not something you hear too often demoed. thanks
Quando este sonho voltará a ser fabricado novamente? Vox humana .
Absolutely beautiful.
This is my "CS-80". The synth I dream to own.
Wonderful, a rare gem.
One of my favourites synths!
Simply beautiful
Beautiful
soo beautyfull! soo emotional!!!! ♥
From about the 3:30 mark on is some of the most haunting and beautiful music I've ever heard.Analog Audio 1 has some serious talent.

Man I really wish I had this! Such a beautiful sounding synth. Wonderful playing as well!
+MrFricoco thanks! The Syntorchestra makes it easy to play well... you don't have to do much
Melodywise it's your best synth demo. thanks
+toitoitoy thanks!
Amazing!
i knew this would sound amazing just by looking at the thumbnail.
we want some more Jean Michel Jarre string sounds again! loving the vids ☺
I’m trying to program this sound on the Minilogue XD with a couple of saws and a sine. I think I’m getting close.
Uli Behringer should consider a clone of this magic synth.
I don't think he will.
I love it
sound pretty nice
I’m thinking a similar sound could be possible using my deepmind12 controller in tandem with a model D, I’m so in love with the Klaus schulze sound.
Model d is monophonic so probably not
thank you
Der Part ab 3:40 könnte so auf Moondawn sein ;D
...And I was just thinking about this one. Did you read my mind?
+Josue143803 no, you did mine :-D
And this came out in the 70's!?!?
+M1ghty0m3ga Yup, 1975
demo of the sequential circuits multitrak? ive always thought its a very underated powerhouse

It should be no faint background tone. Otherwise something is wrong with the VCA.
Jean-Michel Jarre used the farfisa Synthorchestra on Oxygene, but for witch sounds?
No, he never used it. Vangelis and Klaus Schulze did.

Farfisa Professional
Hey AA1, what are the differences between the Farfisa Syntorchestra 4 and the one you are playing ? Have you ever played the former ? What do you think of it ? Thanks for your help !
It's a completely different instrument, it's a kind of scaled down Farfisa Soundmaker. I had it once, but I was an idiot and sold it some years ago...
Thanks for responding.
You are not an idiot. And you do seem to have the Farsifa Soundmaker as well so it might have been redudant in your setup.
also... have you ever seen a Syntorchestra with wooden top (instead of the grey one that is usually has) ?

Hi, again! How will you compare this with Farfisa String-Orchestra? They came out same year it think, 1975.
no, completely different sound and features
1975 it seems 2030
