  • This past spring The Museum of Modern Art brought together the exhibit 'Picasso: Guitars 1912-1914' with live concerts of musicians who were thought to be as innovative as Picasso's works of art.
Canape interviews Mamady Kouyaté, a prominent West African musician who came to New York in 2004 and brought along his unique way of reworking traditional African riffs and melodies onto the electric guitar. Curator Ann Umland offers content on Picasso's silent instruments accompanied by the great live solo performance of Mamady.
Produced and edited by: Mariève Amy
    Cinematography: Al Cacioppo, Darrell Brown
