  • I performed the FDC (Fuel Density Compensator) bypass on this truck, and had to take it for a spin afterwards to test it. This is only my second time driving the truck, and I had a blast. I drove over half an hour and only reason I stopped was my T-shirt was becoming drenched with sweat.

      Bypassing the FDC is rather easy. I understand that the FDC can fail and divert fuel into the crankcase. Oil level rising on the dipstick is a symptom.

    You should do more videos on the truck. Im really looking into getting one since insurance will be cheaper than my 02 Grand Cherokee, and I can drive it year around and actually be able to do to do shit with it.

      Actually, this is the correct way to drive the deuce. The governor will prevent over revving and they can be driven on the governor all day. Because they have such a wide gear range, you have to accelerate to at least 2500 rpm between gears or the RPMs will be too low at the next gear causing loading and high Exhaust Gas temps. This truck definitely has the fuel bumped up so the truck will thank you for the high RPM shifts. Also, if you haven't figured it out, the trans is truly a 4 speed with a granny gear for heavy loads. That's why 1st to 2nd is so hard and far away. It's perfectly acceptable to start right from 2nd and it's waaaaa easier. :) I drive a deuce as a daily driver and I LOVE it! You'll really learn to "feel" this truck and it'll feel so natural. Remember, keep those revs up 👍👍👍👍

      Clyne Griffon hahaha, I had mine tuned up. It would keep up with the M929s on the Autobahn. Their speedos went to 60 and kept going around. We figured 70.

      Was that a A2 like here with the multifuel engine or the A3 with the Cat and Allison auto? Ive heard the multifuel engines don't hesitate to throw rods if you overspeed them any significant amount. With the gearing in the A2 I drove after I did the FDC bypass, which turns the fueling up automatically, it wasnt a lack of power that kept the top speed down, it was that I was pushing into the danger zone on the rev gauge.

    • @jeffanderlik7695
      @jeffanderlik7695 6 лет назад +1

      Clyne Griffon it was an A2 with the White LDT465. Never heard of a thrown rod in that engine. You could lead the turbo a little and it was a pretty good performer.
