This song hits twice as hard for me. I joined back in 12-13, right at the cusp of the golden years, when the fandom was in full swing, remixes, artwork, fanfics, original songs, anything and everything was being made at such a pace that I would peruse my usual subscribed channels, and there would be a deluge of things to go through from the last 24 hours. But the other reason this song hits twice as hard for me is the fact that the person who got me into MLP, ended up passing a few years back. I wish i could go back to 2013, and just hang out with him for a day, duetting 'this day aria,' talking about the latest fanfic we read, talk about the newest episode, or just hop onto black ops 2 zombies to play Mob while listening to Brony music until we had to get off to sleep for school in the morning.
I went on a bit of a ramble, but a brohoof to anyone who took the time to read an idiot missing the old days. /)
I dont care who you are, I dont care what you belive in currently and even if youre still into ponies, I still am here and have lost many along the way, I hope you are still doing or attempting to do well by yourself and live the life the two of you woulda wanted, no matter what hardships came after losing them you and I know that we just have to enjoy what little time we have while we have it in our grasp. Indeed those were simpler and admittedly funner times, at cons, at meetups, in everyday media, ponies were everywhere, and we were friggin there to see it all!!!

Fast forward to 2022, I’m a pony vtuber Twitch streamer who’s celebrating my 21st at Galacon in 3 months. Welp, that didn’t happen!

I joined the fandom in 2013 when I was 12. It’s amazing to see how far the show has gone, but 2013 will always be my personal peak of the fandom 💕

I also entered the fandom in 2020, unfortunately I arrived late to the party and I feel a void in my soul for not having been present during the best times of the fandom, not because I would not have been able to since at that time (2011) I had seen some few chapters of the series but because they were only filler caps, I thought that the series had no history and that they were just everyday stories of colored ponies, but when I saw the development, the great story and the diverse universe of this series I realized what I had missed, if only I had seen more than just 2 or 3 episodes at that time, my story would be different :(

As someone who joined the fandom in late 2011 I fell in love with this parody... Oh the memories... Thank you for bringing us back in time with this song. It's still quite a long ride and it seems to never ends, I hope never ends cuz this is a ride I love to be in.

2010 fan here and same, I bawled on first listen. I grew up with the scene and culture and now I look back I smile wondering where the time has gone. One of those kids who transitioned into g4 from g3 with ease and never looked back.

@DemocraticRepublicOurLandPonykind tell me about it. I had dreams of contributing to the fandom; to be like the great animators and content creators, but my own lack of focus/vision and envy prevent me from doing so. I felt like nothing I could create, was worthy of being up there with the great.
@DemocraticRepublicOurLandPonykind it is never too late to contribute; that is what been keeping the fan base alive, especially in the silent period between the end of G4 and the beginning of G5. On top of that, many of the top creators who been around for a while, have moved on or left, creating opportunities for potential fans to step up and fill the void. That is where you or me or anyone with the passion and motivation, to keep the flame of the fandom going; we can not let it go out.
I was a kid when MLP came out. Raised me, as I’ve commented on other vids. This is my safe space. I wasn’t there for all this. Wasn’t old enough for cons, didn’t know there was such a large fan base. But now, if I can find anyone online that lives it, I am talking to y’all lmao, none of my irl friends are like me in that sense. Despite that, I feel that nostalgia sooo hard. Want to go back, use a Time Machine, get away from the difficulty of life, just enjoy Pone as if I was a teen, appreciate it then the way I do now that I’m older
I may not have been there in 2013. But man, I remember back in 2014, I was still in middle school and that's the first time I ever watched the show. It was also the year when I found your channel, listening to Frailty all day! :D Great times.

Recently discovered all this music after finally giving the show a try a year ago(arguably the best cartoon I've ever seen), and I gotta say I'm really enjoying it and see this artist often referenced as a main source. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm diving into fan made stories of late and have been crying my eyes out at some of them(Snow Drop was a real icicle to the heart).

Ah, I remember the early days.
Never really got involved in the community or went to any cons - couldn't afford to - but this show is what got me through school.
When G4 ended, it really felt like the world ended for me. And then 2020 happened.
So here I am now, a 29 year old geezer, still stuck living with shitty family members, trying to find a way to make ends meet.
Here's hoping that, one day, we'll be able to get together at one of those conventions like back in the good ol' days. And maybe, just maybe, I'll be there too.
Ah yes, it feels like yesterday I was making MLP emblems on Black Ops 2 while listening to Flutterwonder. Good times.
God this made me so nostalgic man. I got in the community in 2011. The Skype line really hurt, I used to be in a private military brony group, those guys were the shit.
That still remains a personal favorite year. Joined up just a year before but that was for me the first Brony Meetup, first Brony Convention, made a ton of new friends, no worries and anxiety hadn't taken hold of me like it does now. I want to go back to when things seemed simpler. It felt like we were part of this new crazy thing unlike anything anyone had ever seen before. The music was incredible and there was tons of it constantly being put out. I had never seen quality on that level from a fandom up till that point. So many incredible fan projects. It was an incredible time.
Right as I'm on an MLP nostalgia kick, this song got suggested to me. Idk how I managed that, but excellent job as always!

Eh... 2013... it was a good time... I wasn't in the brony fandom then, but despite that, I remember those years very well with their events. Listening to this cover, I immerse myself in those times, and involuntarily a smile appears on my face from the memories. Thanks AJ! Great job!

I am currently watching the Series again and had the best Flashbacks to where i first discovered the Show. Happy Memories. Sadly, i wasnt on any GalaCon or BronyCon.
Man, the memories. I got into the show/fandom back in 2010. I was one of those "strange adult fans" FOX News warned people about, lol. I was in my late twenties when the show aired. 2011 was my "year" in the fandom. It exploded almost over night and it was amazing seeing it happen. To the local meetups, to pony cons, to making a ton of new friends over Skype... I really miss those days. I remember staying up till midnight just talking to these people in Skype, even though we were exhausted.
Hands down the best fandom I've ever been a part of. I'm proud to have been there for, literally, all of it. I'm still friends with a few of the bronies I met over 10 years ago. Time certainly flies. This fandom and the show will always be special to me. Friendship is magic, forever and always. /)
Side note, I still cry when Twi sings her last song in the epilogue. Kills me with the feels of being a fan for the entire decade of pony. 🥲

I joined the fandom in 2011, but 2013 was the first year I went to BronyCon so this hits home for me. Not only is this song full of nostalgia, but I love the more pop and rap style you did here. I gotta say we were soo desperate for pony content back on the day that even simple animations and songs were wildly popular. Now we are spoiled to top quality content that we ignore the more simple stuff.

I missed out on 2013 by a year (My first new episode release was Power Ponies) but I can always see the reason why people want to go back.
Ouch that TF2 line hits home, and I miss the days when being a Lightning Dust fan was easier. The Washouts really ruined the one thing i liked about her.
I'm no longer a brony (life got in the way and I'm 28 with a mortgage now) but every now and then I listen to the OG's like Toaster and Tombstone.
I always tear up thinking of better times and the amazing energy the fandom had.

Joined late 2012 when Too Many Pinky Pies came out. That was the first episode I watched and had no idea what was going on and didn't like it. But I gave it another try starting from first episode. Glad I did. The RUclips video 'Dont watch a cartoon called MLP' is what got me actually interested in watching it.

There rlly was a charm unlike anything else before season 4 of mlp came out. I rlly miss that era. No other fandom in history will ever top the 2011 - 2013 mlp fandom, you had to just have been there man. it's just one of those experiences, and im glad to say i was apart of it. even though I was between the ages of 9 - 11 back then Lmao. also, as always; incredible parody :D.

I didn't join the fandom till 2016 and what I've heard and seen from scrolling through history, I learnt and missed out on a lot of things. I'm not complaining for I was still able to enjoy the rest of the years throughout the fandom's lifetime. April 2013 was when I plunged headfirst into the herd, so needless to say, I'm feelin' these lyrics. Not to be a downer, but 2013 and 2014 were the last years I would have truly considered to be good ones. On a very primal level I can understand the desire to go back.

I know it's cliche, but we really do just have to be happy that it happened. The fandom's hayday (gettit) has sadly passed. It's a damn shame, and believe me when I say I wish I could go back a lot, but that's just not life. We just couldn't expect it to last forever. Just remember how goddamn fun it was while it lasted, enjoy the milder fandom that remains, and use it as a learning experience for the next big thing in your life; to take those moments to just breathe and appreciate thing in the way that we all wish we'd done more often back in 2013.
