Thank you for the kind words on these. A lot of heart and soul went into the design of these as products that would work on Shapeways and be good gaming minis. Glad you enjoyed them! I subscribed to your channel, so I can keep up with your well-done videos.
Will, Thanks for checking out my review and subbing. Holding these models and looking over the details one can tell a lot of love went into the process. I'm looking forward to seeing what goodies you bring in the future. I plan on adding more content in this area. I'd like to get more reviews, painting and maybe a batrep or two for "ACTA: Star Fleet"
I often wondered why folks paint the Federation ships white, when US Navy Ghost Gray, is the stated paint used on the TOS screen model. Humbrol paints 127 US Navy Ghost Gray is the correct colour, for those who want to paint their Federation ships authentically.
wow!!, can't belive there is this channel. remember the game quite fondly. I remember the comment from one of the better and more experienced players said,"I have no idea what the young commander is doing." Yeah that bad. But it was more about freinds.
The difference in texture on parts of the model is not from cleanup or lack thereof. The print process uses a wax substrate to support the model while it is being printed. Essentially the printer lays down a solid sheet microns thick with each pass, resin where it will be part of the figure and wax where it will not. The white not-perfectly-smooth areas are where the wax was melted off of the model.
Back in the day there was a large following of this game. Now there are about 1/2 a dozen. These models are beautiful. I will have to get some. thanks for show casing them.
The Andros might have a little to say about largest ship lol. I used to play this a lot back in Designers through Doomsday. I also played a lot of Starfire around that same time. Those look much better than I expected.
Thanks for reviewing these minis! I appreciate your thoughtful comments. By the way, ADB also has a long-standing contract with Paramount as well as with Franz Joseph Design. More ships get added to the store each month. I'm so glad that you liked the ones you got.
My pleasure. Good point on your Paramount contract. While there are many *Star Trek* inspired ships on Shapeways yours seems to be the only officially licensed ones I've seen so far. I'm looking forward to revisiting the range as more gets added. (Already ordered more fighters).
I really don't but I wish I did. I love painting Spaceships and Starfleet ships are always dear to me. A couple of things keep me from making gameplay videos. One, I don't have any SFB players local. Two I'm not sure a game of SFB would translate to my preferred way to make battle reports. three. SFB games take forever :). Might look at Call to Arms Star Fleet as a faster play but still need opponents
I haven't played a game of SFB for 20 years, but I have dabbled in other games set in the same universe. Federation Commander and A Call to Arms: Star Fleet (This one is the most promising for miniature gamers IMHO)
As noted by the video-owner's reply; FUD has a long history of being plenty good enough for the vast majority of detail-oriented gamers. FED is a bit crisper and smoother, but it's really like comparing 14K gold to 16K gold - both are pretty. FED has a limitation in size that FUD does not, so some models are not available in it.
I’ve seen the constitution class with decals. Really very nice

Had some of the glow in the dark models ... I almost want to play again.
SFB, oh the memories!

Thanks for the clarification, interesting stuff and definitely the wave of the future.

Hi! Did you know that the fan group on Facebook for Star Fleet Battles has over 2,000 members? facebook.com/groups/STARFLEETBATTLES/
Would be nice to see these painted

Do you have a follow-up video of your Fleet painted up or any gameplay videos?? Non-Human

Sweet! SFB brings back memories. Never got anyone locally to play the game, unfortunately.

All Miniatures Great and Small Yes, those look more playable. Iirc I played exaclty one (1) non-solo game, and nothing later than '89 or '90. :-)
I'd love to get a batrep our for All Call To Arms: Star Fleet, of all the games I think that one would translate best to our Batrep style.
All Miniatures Great and Small Make it, and we will watch :-)
Weighs in at 4 inches. LOL
What's the difference between frosted ultra and frosted extreme detail?
I'm not sure. I've never bit the bullet and gone with extreme for anything yet. FUD has been plenty good for my purposes.
