@@HOAHamRadio Hello, My name is Bob and I am an antenna addict. We could start our own support group. We will have to get creative with the name as AA is already taken.
This tripod is excellent! , I've used a cheap -o tripod for my old original Super Antenna system ( MP-1) for around 25 years or so, that tripod I have is so clunky and it's 6-8" longer than my MP-1 broken down which is 12" unassembled. BTW I've mounted banana jacks on the foot-plate , the MP-1 is a good antenna but ,I agree, it really needs those radials without them really cripples the antenna system. I really want to get one of these tripods! , Maybe even two of them , one used to hold the radio at a comfortable level.
Bob, I have 2 of these. Why 2? The first one came from Amazon in a crushed box and on reviewing the antenna "instructions" (in quotes because that is not even close to a good description of the single sheet in that package) I found I was missing a part. Amazon promptly sent me another one in a pristine box. And, apparently, the part I had identified as missing is not missing. It simply does not ship with it. The "bag" that is supposed to come in the box is not in either of the ones I received. Anyway, my 705 will also screw into that camera mount adapter. And yes, that is an extremely versatile antenna. I believe it is worth the price. Thanks for the review.
@@don_n5skt No bag for me Don. Having received this some time ago, the box and instructions are a blur in my memory and long gone. This tripod & antenna is now one of my favorite sets of gear; all about size and weight for me.
