Thank you for this video, kind sir. It's very focused and with lots of tips. You've saved me a lot of pain in my 75-year old joints! My stove is a Pleasant Hearth PH50, but has a firebox construction that's identical to yours. Probably built on the same assembly line. Also, I find that 100% hardwood pellets burn with much less soot and ash in my stove than softwood pellets.
I have a 6 year old PP130. Some tips: I wash the 3 baffles in my slop sink with hot water using a 6" paint brush. Then let them dry and re-install. Way less dust and mess. The fire pot can also be washed under hot water and the caked on slag will come off easy. Get a round brush for the ash vac, it works better and quicker compared to that little stock brush. I use a radiator brush in the exhaust channel to clean out the ash. It works well. Best thing I have done is buy a second firepot. Then you can have a clean one ready to install when you clean the stove. This is helpful in cold weather, as you not need to put the appliance out of service for so long during cleaning.
Round brush is great! My brother uses it. I got a different vacuum not as good as the one I had, not sure the brush would fit. A second firepot is a great idea. Especially when I don’t vacuum all the parts on the inside. Hard time finding good pellets this year!
tyvm im a lady who lives alone. i saw that the side plates in back come off. wow i had this for three years and only took the middle one off. ty so much for this video now tomorrow i will wake up and clean the other two on the sides. wow dont know what i will find hahaha

This is a great video and I have a Grand Teton Collection which seems to be very similar to this stove AND if it wasn't for this video, I would have never known how to take out and clean the 3 baffles. The manual that came with the Grand Teton Collection stove is close to useless when it comes to maintenance. There are also NO videos about this stove on RUclips as per date.

@@DIY_Garden I opened the side of mine under the thermostat knob and looked on the bottom of unit inside however and did not find a thermostat that you have on your unit however. I just purchased my Pelpro 130
What pellets has everyone found to be the best? The kind available from our local tsc where we purchased the pp130 definitely leave some room for improvement! Thanks
I also found that 100% Douglas fir (from the Pacific coast) burn as clean as 100% hardwood pellets (nice!). Hardwood/softwood "blends" burned dirty in my stove too. I found out that the word "Premium" alone on a bag of pellets doesn't mean clean burning for these stoves. Also, I had to adjust the air trim control to get the best flame from each type of pellet.
Frustrating right! Maybe I will but here’s what I do (Happens when I forget to put pellets in it). -Clean well. Especially the air intake/ vent. -Put some pellets in the hopper but not much and move them with the metal cleaning tool. (Vaccum the dust before you put the pellets in case you think the dust in not letting the pellets get to the firepot). - TURN ON TO THE MAX, OFF and then MIDDLE or so (5 in my case). It should turn on. When it does not work, I unplug and leave it for few minutes, then plug it and do the “max-off-middle”. Make sure not to unplug it when it’s on. It should be off for sometime and no noise or fan on. (Also sometimes the pipe on the outside might need cleaning).
I just use welding gloves. Take the hot pot in the woods.... use an old vacuum. Suck up all the ash. Immediately dump into woods. Clean glass and move on
I use a paint brush bout 3 inches wide to clean inside letting ash fall to bottom.then vacume up.dont use a regular vacume ash is so small it will mess up your vacume.
Exactly that’s what I do sometimes. Some brushes fit into the power smith vacuum and are great. Unfortunately i have the snowjoe, can’t find a brush that fits in.
True, still cheaper than other sources of heating and better for the environment. You should consider Storing pellets & maintenance if you want to switch to a pellet stove.
I had a corn stove. I would not recommend. It makes a huge mess. Because of the sugar and slight moisture content even of feed corn your burn pot will be like glue. Corn burns a lot slower and I don't think the pelpro has a setting that slow to feed it.

Thanks for watching. I did get an outside air kit to install with it, but I did not install it. It’s recommended for RV or so.

I clean mine daily. Clean pellet stove is a happy stove. Takes only 15 minutes.
Maybe a video on restarting the fool thing after cleaning. Just saying.

Comes with the powersmith vacuum. Great vacuum by the way and you can purchase a separate brush set for it that I highly recommend.
