@@RunBikeMike that's allways a good ideal .I do that to all mine .how do you like that 10.00 grinder .is it holding up . I'm thinking about getting one .I have their 11 amp and the 5 amp one that are holding up good .the 11 amp one from harbor freight I have had it going on 4 years .I just got the 5 amp one the other day .i have a hyper tough. 6 amp that i use just a bout ever day .i have had it for 3 years and no proublems what so ever .it cost 18.00 s .
I've used mine alot. Works great with wire wheels and grinding disks. Another tip is to be careful and don't let it get to hot. It won't typically get hot unless you use a cutting wheel. It can definitely use one just make sure not bog it down. Let the angle grinder do the work. Mine has lasted all summer with pretty heavy use. I've left it out in hot trucks literly every day. Its sat outside in the sun, (never rained on though) dropped it ext. Still works. Good tool. Its cheap and its the reason I started my projects. Its worth the money.
Good tip, HF actually sells two different versions of the $9.99 angle grinder. The one you have is the slightly less robust version. If possible try to get the model 60625, biggest visual difference is the power switch is on top instead of the side. There are videos out there of side by side tear downs. Adding grease is probably a good idea regardless of which model you have, not a huge difference, they just upgraded to the second cheapest component available a couple of times in the 60625, lol.
Additional grease is good, I would guess most common reason for these cheap grinder failure is overheating the motor windings which short out. To make these cheap tools last long time, it helps not to overheat them. So I have three of these and use them in rotation so as to never overheat any of them.
On the over heating, my internal fan keeps sliding down the shaft to the point that it doesn't blow much air. I take it apart and slide the plastic fan up. I own two of these and that's only an issue on one of them. So, I try to ,whenever I can, use 4 inch disks, in an attempt to lessen the loads on the unit. I've had them almost 8 years. They see use a few times a year. Definitely, not a heavy user. Yes, I did and do add grease to many Harbour freight tools.
Similar to the ubiquitous 12v tire inflator. They are spec for five minutes of duty. It's constructed of plastic & pot metal with cheap or no lubricate . I got two units in my trunk so to allow time for cooling.
Used mine wearing gloves, didn't realize how hot it was getting. Also my hand was blocking some of the vents. If it had themo protection, a lot of them would not die so soon,
I had one of those and it was crap. First the trigger lock gets stuck making it super sketchy to use. Second that lock to remove the disc doesn't engage very well and the reason I had to throw it away was I could not get the disk off after the first use. The removal tool sucked and the shaft lock sucked. Damn thing would not come off. After busting my knuckles for a couple hour I tossed it in the trash.
@@deftlawson I bought it for some work on an old car. When I finally got around to using it, it was way beyond the warranty period. Besides, I don't think the replacement would yield any better results. It's just an awful design. My replacement from DeWalt uses a hex key to remove the disc, has a better shaft locking mechanism and the trigger lock actually disengages immediately and safely. A waaaay better design. Absolutely no regrets on the upgrade. I have lots of great harbor freight tools, unfortunately his wasn't one of them.
For 10 I'm going to run it until it stops spinning and I'll toss it and get another. That was a hypothetical, I only use DeWalt but if I had bought the buster special, straight to the trash Alice, straight to the trash. Bing pow zoom!!
Good tip. I like your little screw and bit tray. That’s a handy thing to have around.
Thanks Chad :)

Very nice indeed.
Can u use these to cut tile?
Yes
@@RunBikeMike Sold ..... Thank you
@@RunBikeMike Thank you
Hi. Can this 4.3 Amp definitely cut CEMENT, with a diamond wheel? How about the 5 Amp one as well? Also, can you use just basic grease? Thanks.
Not sure how long it would last cutting concrete. If it is one job and a small one maybe. And use high temp grease
Can I use hoppe's gun lube?
You could tap it on the side and put a grease zerk on it. Just a thought.
Excelent, u can add a gasket and get even better results, THANKS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ !

Makes sense...
Has it worked so far?
It is still running perfectly :)

Too much grease will make heat faster.
