The revelation of the name of God (Jesus Christ) & that we must be baptized in His name, only comes from Him. When someone is hungering & thirsting for God's righteousness with all of their heart with an open mind & prayerfully, Jesus WILL reveal this to them. All we can do is live a life of servanthood, love and compassion in front of them & pray for revelation to be granted to them. If someone really believes in the Bible I would think they would consider it important to Baptize the way the Bible says to do it. And Acts 2:38 is one of the verses that tells us what name to use.

When a person is baptize according to Matthew 28:19 it's still valid, it's. still one baptism, because before water baptism, there is a grace baptism in the spirit by faith, we don't get baptize so we can believe no we believe, repent and this is where grace in injected into our soul. Grace is the license to get baptize without it the water baptism in any form is useless.

Absolutely! If they were baptized by John under repentance they were then re-baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and received the Holy Ghost. Those were the baptisms mentioned.

That's why the book of acts through teach and preach about salvation, but not just about salvation, how to stay saved also. the books after acts are mostly written to the churches or those already saved.
@newj34 every book after acts tells you how to stay saved. There is initial salvation, progressive salvation and ultimate salvation throughout scripture. Initial happens when you have an experience like the apostles had on the day of Pentecost and repent get baptized in Jesus name and receive the Holy Ghost. Progressive salvation deals with your walk with God and being Holy scripture says without holiness no man shall see the lord. And ultimate salvation is when we get to heaven.

Look who's preaching in Acts 2. It's Peter, obeying Jesus's direct command.

Do you know what baptism in Jesus name represents? Romans chapter 6 says it means death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, Christ was still under the law and not yet dead when he was hanging on that cross!...why would the man hanging next to him need baptism before Christ gave the great commission in Matthew 28:19? Which took place after his resurrection? when he got lifted up into heaven? Also do you not know when the new testament began? Baptising "in the name of the Father..." doesn't really have anything to do with what the name of the Father is. "In the name of..." is a position of authority. Rightly said, it means to "baptise in the authority of the Father..." As for which to use, well, you have two choices. Matthew 28:19, or Acts 2:38. The first one is from Jesus. The second one is from Peter. I don't think you can do wrong by going with Jesus.
If one is to believe the whole Bible is the infallible Word of God, then one must hold that what Peter said was just as inspired by God as if the Word of God Himself were speaking. We cannot undermine the words of Peter in the scripture at the expense of believing that it makes him supposedly disagree with Jesus. There is no disagreement between these scriptures, we are buried with Him (Jesus) not them in baptism. Jesus is the mighty God and the everlasting Father. He is the Spirit of truth. Basing a doctrine on how often someone mentions their own name is not going to cut it. And what, even, do you hope to accomplish by this reasoning? Speaking your own name is not any basis for anything. The point Jesus is making is that when you speak "in the name of Jesus", you are invoking his AUTHORITY. That is all that means.

"Jesus name" baptism, to the exclusion of Trinitarian baptism, is a tremendous error. It implies that almost none of the Christians from the Apostolic Age until the mid-1900's when this doctrine was invented were actually baptized into the Lord Jesus Christ. Baptism following the formula "I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit" IS baptism in the Lord Jesus Christ. Acts 2:38 doesn't say that the formula for baptism is in Jesus' name alone Acts 19: He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Spirit since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Spirit. And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? It is clear hear from Scripture then that Paul expects that anyone who has been properly baptized will have heard of the Holy Spirit. If the baptismal formula was simply "I baptize you in the name of the Lord Jesus", one could be baptized without having heard of the Holy Spirit. If the baptism is "In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit", one will necessarily have heard of the Holy Spirit. Acts 19 doesn't make any sense unless the formula for baptism includes "the Holy Spirit". See also what The Didache, a first century catechism, says about how to baptize: "And concerning baptism, baptize this way: Having first said all these things, baptize into the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, (Matthew 28:19) in living water. But if you have not living water, baptize into other water; and if you can not in cold, in warm. My friend, The main problem here is your listening to what man tells you and has came up with. If you were to go back and look at the Bible without ever listening to what anybody tells you, you would clearly see that it was done in Jesus name only. He said in the name, not repeat after me. When a person is baptize according to Matthew 28:19 it's still valid, it's. still one baptism, because before water baptism, there is a grace baptism in the spirit by faith, we don't get baptize so we can believe no we believe, repent and this is where grace in injected into our soul. Grace is the license to get baptize without it the water baptism in any form is useless.

That's why the book of acts through teach and preach about salvation, but not just about salvation, how to stay saved also. the books after acts are mostly written to the churches or those already saved.
@newj34 every book after acts tells you how to stay saved. There is initial salvation, progressive salvation and ultimate salvation throughout scripture. Initial happens when you have an experience like the apostles had on the day of Pentecost and repent get baptized in Jesus name and receive the Holy Ghost. Progressive salvation deals with your walk with God and being Holy scripture says without holiness no man shall see the lord. And ultimate salvation is when we get to heaven.

Do you know what baptism in Jesus name represents? Romans chapter 6 says it means death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, Christ was still under the law and not yet dead when he was hanging on that cross!...why would the man hanging next to him need baptism before Christ gave the great commission in Matthew 28:19? Which took place after his resurrection? when he got lifted up into heaven? Also do you not know when the new testament began? Baptising "in the name of the Father..." doesn't really have anything to do with what the name of the Father is.
"In the name of..." is a position of authority. Rightly said, it means to "baptise in the authority of the Father..."
As for which to use, well, you have two choices. Matthew 28:19, or Acts 2:38. The first one is from Jesus. The second one is from Peter. I don't think you can do wrong by going with Jesus.
If one is to believe the whole Bible is the infallible Word of God, then one must hold that what Peter said was just as inspired by God as if the Word of God Himself were speaking. We cannot undermine the words of Peter in the scripture at the expense of believing that it makes him supposedly disagree with Jesus. There is no disagreement between these scriptures, we are buried with Him (Jesus) not them in baptism. Jesus is the mighty God and the everlasting Father. He is the Spirit of truth. It implies that almost none of the Christians from the Apostolic Age until the mid-1900's when this doctrine was invented were actually baptized into the Lord Jesus Christ. Baptism following the formula "I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit" IS baptism in the Lord Jesus Christ. Acts 2:38 doesn't say that the formula for baptism is in Jesus' name alone
Acts 19: He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Spirit since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Spirit.
And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized?
It is clear hear from Scripture then that Paul expects that anyone who has been properly baptized will have heard of the Holy Spirit. If the baptismal formula was simply "I baptize you in the name of the Lord Jesus", one could be baptized without having heard of the Holy Spirit. If the baptism is "In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit", one will necessarily have heard of the Holy Spirit. Acts 19 doesn't make any sense unless the formula for baptism includes "the Holy Spirit".

Acts 2:28 is the fulfillment of Matt 28:19. Jesus is the name Peter and the apostles baptized in. Period
My friend, The main problem here is your listening to what man tells you and has came up with. If you were to go back and look at the Bible without ever listening to what anybody tells you, you would clearly see that it was done in Jesus name only.

This type of argument makes me so sad. God is too good for this. Why do we argue over things that do not matter? Lets get off of our pedestals and realize that we are not saved by works but by faith in the work that has been done on the cross. Thank you Jesus!!!
