Just a suggestion. My mom told me to do this and it has been great parenting advice. She told me to do a toy rotation. I have a 3 year old and a 19 month old. I bought some large storage tubs and I pack away 3/4 of the toys. About every 2-3 months I rotate about 1/4 or 1/3 of the toys. I bring I out toys I have stored away and pack away all the toys I currently had out. This would be difficult if you don’t have a place to store the tubs of toys. However if you can do this, try it. It has worked great for my kids. On toy rotation day they seriously act like it’s Christmas again. They have forgotten about the toys and they are all excited to play with them again. It cuts down on clutter, and when I’m doing a rotation I will sometimes choose to get rid of toys that have become too broken down or they have out grown or they just don’t seem to ever play with. I even drag their kitchen to the garage and store it away for a while.
lora Tommy Yes, I have done this & sort of do this with toys on the top shelves & some in her closet. She actually plays with every single toy which is insane haha But it’s overwhelming me so I need to get organized big time. ❤️
hi Hayley it looks like Sydney is now enjoying cleaning she can help more around the house give her somethings to do. It's a good thing. love the entry table. and white comforter.
What a wonderful mummy you are! Watching you and your lovely girl has given me so many good ideas, especially food ideas for my toddler...and got me through the night shift at work! Thank you and Happy New Year.
Just found your channel so I’ve been binging your videos. But oh my goodness I love Sydney’s little voice! Sweetest thing ever! My son is turning one on the 31st and I’m just so ready to hear his sweet voice saying full sentences! 😂
Omg you have a great mama and love her car looks better then my car lol and so manny toys makes me ahh but as long as she’s happy ❤️❤️❤️ Sydney looks so happy with her new toys ❤️
Merry Christmas! I hope yall had a great day! Madison and I were in NH for the week and she got to see snow for the first time!! I was shocked it actually wasn't all that cold!
I take my down after New Years and before my daughter goes back to school. I hate putting it away my house always looks so bare after. Also Target has storage bins on sale. I went the other day to redo my playroom. I’m sure other stores have it on sale too
Girl after my own heart! I LOVED to play with cash registers when I was little! My dad worked at a small grocery store when I was about Sydney’s age and they would always have me up at the register to “help” scan.
What an amazing Christmas u guys had😍😍 Sydney's face was so adorable when she unwrapped those presents!! That's definitely the best part for me... Seeing their faces light up🥰🥰🥰
We keep the tree and decorations until January 6th which is the day of the 3 wise men. Not sure if it’s just a Hispanic thing but it lets us keep Christmas alive a week into the new year 🥰
It looks like Sydney had a blast and got lots of fun things 🙂 & girl I am the same. We got home from my grandma's and mom's and I was unboxing and putting things away. The day after Christmas my son said let's put away our tree and decorations and he said he will help so we did that and he said now it can be Halloween 😂😂 He's so cute. Also, I got the same Tupperware
You could try that pretty bench by your staircase against the wall. That might make the living room look even more cozy and add extra seating! Merry Christmas to you and Sydney
I will probably wait until New Years when we move into our bigger house. But my daughter got so much stuff, I needed the space, so I took the tree down today. Helped a little bit, but we’ve definitely outgrown this tiny home.
Hi! I have seen your videos since the beginning of your channel but this is my first comment. I have a baby girl of 2 months now. And I am alone with her pretty much all day. Thank you so much for your positivism and please, keep on going! You are really inspiring!
I was hoping you would show us some footage from Christmas! I loved when Sydney was explaining about sleeping on the blow up mattress! Too cute.. she’s such a sweet, smart girl. Thank you for sharing & as always putting a smile on my face. You & Sydney are my absolute favorite Chanel 🤗 A belated Merry Christmas to you both 💕
I usually take my tree down sometime before the 10th of January I feel like this year my tree was up such a short time. I am glad you and Sydney had a good Christmas!!!
We got my daughter a big girl bed when she turned 13 months. It went amazing. We did the same thing with my son at 11 months and with him too it went very well. The only thing is when they started to open there doors by themselves 🙈 They escaped all the time 😂 So be sure to have a upstairs gate closed at all times! 😂
I took my tree and all my decorations on December 27 and I organized all the toys. My home is so clean which is usually not the case but with a toddler I need to stay on top of everything. I got my son disney plus and tackle everything while he watched monsters Inc.
I put my stuff "away" or where they need to go right away, but I also took down my Christmas stuff the night after Christmas.. LOL I was dreading it too.. I also was sick of looking at mine though. hahaha... Anyways Her gifts look so cute and fun!
Tres Chic Mama I was too but I was so motivated to get it done 🤣😫 but what I’ve been dreading is editing vlogs rn hahaha isn’t that sad? I was so lazy with family I didn’t vlog or edit anything and now it’s like starting over 😂😂😂
I’ll be interested to see what you find for toy storage. Between my daughter having a December birthday and Christmas, we are drowning in toys over here 😵 Are you going to try an Ok to wake clock for Sydney? We aren’t ready to switch to a toddler bed yet, but when we do I’m going to start teaching her about the ok to wake clock.
I love getting rid of toys its so satisfying to declutter! Half of the toys my son got for Xmas are still inntheir boxes in a cupboard. I feel like I'm going to save some for his birthday or bring them out throughout the next year lol
Budgeting hack for dress up clothes for Christmas: Buy Halloween costumes on sale the day after Halloween and give as Christmas gifts! We got a Snow White and a Minnie Mouse dress for $5 each!
Happy Holidays. We leave the tree up until January 6th. That is Three Kings Day. The day the 3 wisemen visited baby Jesus. 12 days of Christmas December 25th to January 6th.
And if your mom doesn't have a little table for Sydney to eat at when shes there you could bring the little table she eats at now to your mom's place for her to use when you 2 are visiting there.
Have you thought of buying Sydney a booster seat for a dining room table chair instead of her using the little table to eat at by herself? Then you could maybe put the bench in front of the window where your Christmas tree is now.
I think it can be taken as a good sign that you were enjoying your family time so much that you did not feel the need to escape behind the camera. That's a good thing. If you are not soundly grounded and content then Sydney does not have a centered mother. She will need that because she has a forceful personality, which can serve her well or land her in consequences. She seemed to genuinely love everything. Allow me to share that my family did less at XMas and more at birthdays because at Christmas they were getting for so many. We did not overdo anyway because it is a religious holiday and is best not made into a worship of consumerism. Our parents also let other relatives and friends get things and then filled in the gaps, like if we needed new longjohns or were ready for a bicycle and they wanted to choose the one for safety features, even if they labelled it as from Santa. But you may have to cut down on the amount, which sets up unrealistic expectations for later life or even leaner years. When the things have overwhelmed the playroom are often encroaching upon the living room and are now going to get shared with her bedroom, that's a lot of house taken over by things that she will outgrow. It is good that you are planning to cull the things that are broken or she's outgrown. Almost everything in this country gets turned by commerce into an orgy of gift-giving, so it's pertinent to keep tight reins on what's always pulling at them to overwhelm you. The great thing about Sydney is that she seems to actually play with most of her toys. I hope she gets back to playing with them well on her own sometimes so that you can get some work done. She is so bright that she appears to act out her own little scenario in her head as she is playing with so many of the things she has. That is great that she has things that invite her to use her imagination and even get into storytelling because she is bringing you into the world she has just created. We get the fun of watching that. I am beginning to wonder if she will be one of those children who around the age of 4 often create an imaginary friend, with a name and everything, that they play with and talk to and tell stories about. Did you ever see the movie "Chocolat" with Juliette Binoche, Judi Dench, Johnny Depp and Alfred Molina? It was done around 2000 and is a love story about a witch and a gypsy and the little girl in it has an imaginary kangaroo friend. Or maybe it's just a pookah, like Harvey the rabbit, and is not at all imaginary. Who's to say? But, it is a wonderful, quirky, beautiful love story. I commend it to you. No joke. If you want to experience beauty and have enough tissues some night, give it a view. I adore the blouse with the leaves on it she is wearing in this. I love the rug in her playroom. Isn't it the best to have a female friend or relative, like your mother, who can buy you things you have not gotten for yourself that you need and manages to get something that is your taste?! Most people I know who are not really Christian keep it up through New Year's and then take it down. Most of the people I know who are practicing Christians keep it up through Twelfth Night 1/5 and take it down after Epiphany 1/6. Orthodox Christmas is 1/7, so they put theirs up later and take it down after their 12 day festival is complete. In the olden days many kept things up until a family birthday in January or liturgically until 2/2, which in Christianity was when Mary and Jesus went to the Temple. For her it was called the Feast of the Purification, which meant her husband could "know" her again after the birth. For him it was the Feast of the Circumcision, identifying him through the bris as a Jewish man, an Abramic descendant. For those who are not religious and it is purely a secular gift fest, I still cannot imagine why one would not want it up through New Year's with the happy lights and decor for that eve and day and the festivities involved with them. But, in Philly we have a unique New Year's Day, so... The holidays of the midwinter solstice are not over for you until after New Year's, so keep it up. Even if you live a secular life and are not churched, when Sydney goes to school, she will not return until say 1/2 or even 1/6 in the coming year. You may from time to time have guests for New Year's or she may and the decorations are perfect for the warmth of winter hospitality and sharing. I often sit in the dark with the tree lights on and listen to music with a hot mulled wine or coffee or hot chocolate and there are no other lights on because I so love the romance of the Christmas tree and its tradition of greening the house in the dark and cold of winter. And, if you meet someone, you may have family over for New Year's Eve and/or Day and you already have your theme and don't have to decorate. I always thought the perfect wedding date would be New Year's Eve. No one I know is the last of the big time boozers, so would not have to be at a bar. The decorations that are the happiest of all are there for you already. And if you marry within the calendar year, the IRS allows you to file a joint tax return for that year, just ending. Among those I know, people would be ecstatic to have something civilized to do New Year's Eve and enjoy good food and booze and be near home, so safer one can hope when driving. What could be better? It didn't work out that way for me due to legal necessities of my great love's nationality, so we had requirements to deal with, but I'd've picked 12/31 for a wedding with all the red and white and green and silver and gold all around still to celebrate. If anyone asks, Christmas has throughout history always been a 12-day festival beginning at sundown on 12/24 and ending at sundown on 1/5. So you are just celebrating all of XMas from the night the babe was born until the Three Kings/Wise Men arrive bearing gifts for him. Your family won't be shocked. Most toddlers go through this phase. However, Sydney has to learn something from it and apologize to others for behaving so poorly in their home on their holiday. Someone invited her and prepared for her and she misbehaved. She can understand that in simple terms. She should never pull your hair. You are not one of her things to do with as she pleases. It would not be fair to her to vlog it, even though most kids do this during this phase. She just has to be taught throughout the phase that other people are not her emotional toilets to dump in. She will eventually learn and be past this stage. It's tough being a baby, toddler, kid. The absolute worst has to be dealing with these meltdowns in a confined public space, like an airplane. Hell on earth. But temporary. You can tell who reared children or not. Not whether they reproduced, which the beasts of the field and mosquitoes can do. But whether they loved and provided for and dealt with a child who was their responsibility to rear. There are alarm clocks with different colored lights for the time display that tell a child if it is still nighttime or time to get up and leave their room because the sun is up for it's school time and when it is still perhaps quiet time in the afternoon for them to nap or remain quietly alone in their room with toys for a time. You can introduce the bed for her birthday as a rite of passage of sorts. It depends how strong-willed she is. Most children I know stay in their rooms and read or play until a certain time, if they awaken early, unless there's something wrong. The problem comes in if she decides she can do as she pleases and has free range over the household in the middle of the night, should she awaken. It's a good reason to have some toys in her room and books. You would not want her to have her ego get the better of her and go downstairs and decide to see what she could cook alone at the real stove or oven.
Philippa Pay She certainly does have a beautiful imagination ❤️ I’m so curious to know how her personality will be when she’s older ☺️ I’m most definitely going to leave the tree up a bit longer 🎄

I actually do this and it helps with clutter & keeps them playing with toys vs. getting bored with the same stuff
Plus 1 for this👍
lora Tommy Yes, I have done this & sort of do this with toys on the top shelves & some in her closet. She actually plays with every single toy which is insane haha But it’s overwhelming me so I need to get organized big time. ❤️
Her excitement at every gift is adorable. My son was 17 months at Christmas and still didn’t fully grasp gifts. I can’t wait till next year

how do you do your intos for your videos?!?!
Hi! I have seen your videos since the beginning of your channel but this is my first comment. I have a baby girl of 2 months now. And I am alone with her pretty much all day. Family also super far, so I can relate a lot with you. I loved to see your baby grow up since the first videos so far. I know it wasnt easy for you at the first couple months with Sydney for many reasons, now that she is almost 3years old and I am struggle a lot with mine, I would love you to make a video talking about how were the first months for you and how you survived it. I am really struggling, and seeing you so happy with your baby and saying everything gets better really sets a light at the end of the tunnel for me. However, would love you to make a video talking about this first half year of a life of a child or first year review for first time moms struggling as single moms or not. Thank you so much for your positivism and please, keep on going! You are really inspiring!
Erica Tavares Oh mama sending you hugs!!! I remember this all too well & it’s exhausting. One moment at a time ❤️🤗🤗🤗

Tres Chic Mama I was too but I was so motivated to get it done 🤣😫 but what I’ve been dreading is editing vlogs rn hahaha isn’t that sad? I was so lazy with family I didn’t vlog or edit anything and now it’s like starting over 😂😂😂

Toxic Fifi I don’t think I will unless it comes to needing it haha I think she will do just fine though as she LOVES sleep 😆😬🙏

Happy Holidays. We leave the tree up until January 6th. That is Three Kings Day. The day the 3 wisemen visited baby Jesus. 12 days of Christmas December 25th to January 6th.
13:45 great moment in the video
Can I ask what noise machine you have for her?! 😄
She looks so grown up in the dress. 😍
MsMegs1988 It’s called my baby noise machine ☺️
And if your mom doesn't have a little table for Sydney to eat at when shes there you could bring the little table she eats at now to your mom's place for her to use when you 2 are visiting there.
We take it down in January
Have you thought of buying Sydney a booster seat for a dining room table chair instead of her using the little table to eat at by herself? Then you could maybe put the bench in front of the window where your Christmas tree is now.
Lynn Lewis This won’t be possible until I get a laptop! 2020 goals is to get our table back haha
Your intro just reminded me to make me some coffee
mixedchick105 Yassss get that coffee girl 💁♀️
My tree is still up until NY day
1:26 can we just play with it now mommy? Sooo cute Sydney 😄😍

Sydney is the cutest! That power wheel is a little too expensive, I love my kid but would not pay that much for a toy lol!

I laugh at my son when he's throwing a "a tantrum" because he does it thinking that if he shows his butt I'll change my mind. Boy please!
Elizabeth Church Hahahaha sometimes it’s uncontrollable
