I LIVE IN AUSTIN and for over 20 years and right now I drive Lyft / Uber for 2/3rd of my income so when I tell you Bastrop is a hop / skip and a jump away from Austin, it REALLY is. A lot of Uber / Lyft rides between Bastrop / Austin especially to the airport. The Tesla Factory is down the street from the Airport even though it's technically located in Del Valle. EVERYTHING is still super close to Austin. Bastrop is another one of the cute, small towns to visit, great for a Day Trip so I know folks will be doing this more and more of this because there are a lot of really cute shops and eateries there.

Giga Factory is not in Austin TX, it is technically situated not far outside the city’s official borders. And while his initial intent was to have it in Austin at the last minute City council tried to pull a number of clauses that would of changed the original deals he had with the city, so at the last minute he decided to build Giga TX on the East Side of Highway 130, on unincorporated land.
This is not true. I live in Austin and the Gigfactory is in between downtown and the airport which is well inside of Austin's borders. The address of the gigafacroy is 1 Tesla Rd, Austin, TX 78725
@@DavidCarson2 Giga Factory is East of Highway 130, that's unincorporated land, Austin City Limits stops west of highway 130, It does have an Austin address however because its the largest municipality in the area, nevertheless that region is not governed by a local municipal corporation (Austin) since its sits outside its boundaries.
Some of it was in the city limits of Austin, but with state law changes, some of that is being de-annexed from Austin. Can't blame them from the wait and red tape friends went through just to open a bar in downtown Austin.

When you say taxes are lower in Texas, you obviously don't include property tax. Buy a $300k house, pay $1200 a month for the payment and $1000 a month for the privilege of living in it. There is, however, the thought going around of doing away with property taxes, so there is hope.
Texas property tax rate is at 1.6% per annum. Which means its monthly payment is no more than $400. Lol. Not only will you pay more income taxes in California. But since housing is so expensive in California, even with it's low property tax rate, which is at 0.071%. You still have to pay more property tax than Texas. You can hardly find any houses below $600,000 in big cities in anymore. If u want a decent house that's the price tag. And that is already $355 per month. In Texas there are too many decent houses below $300k. So your property taxes do end up being somewhat the same, but u r not taking into account the monthly instalments you have to pay the bank. A $600k loan is always far more difficult to pay every month vs a $300k loan. And then u add up the cost of income taxes, higher food prices, higher gas prices, higher childcare, etc. Living in Texas is far cheaper than living in California. Lol. It is just the truth.

It sounds lightweight but that also implies it isn't as strong for some purposes. Have you ever heard of the books of Christopher Alexander? The " Pattern Language" suggested a material like pumice or vermiculite as the aggregate. It was lightweight and could even be cut with a saw and nailed into. Lightweight also meant lighter formwork. I built my house almost 38 years ago and wish I could do it again. I'd also earth shelter it far more.

One of the WORST things that could happen to Central Texas, a deranged and demented billionaire obsessed with science fiction but with no real talent of smarts of his own. Musk is historically a bad neighbor wherever he goes. He contributes little to the local communities he sets up in behind his own enterprise and any DJ atuon he has comes with the expectation of more tax cuts rather than trying to buy community favor. For the Texans complaining about Californians moving to the state, it’s ironic that they somehow think Musk wouldn’t be bringing parts of his Californian workforce to the state. It was idiotic to locate a tunneling company so close to a major river. Now the Boring Company threatens to contaminate the river for every town downstream. Musk’s Space X essentially took a wildlife refuge and public park and made it his personal playground for his exploding rockets. Now locals can’t access the public beach and the area is littered with space junk. Not to mention that Mush threatened legal action to local residents who refused to sell to him. Rockets can also be tested in the middle of the desert out west, there was no need to lease a public park and force out local residents. Musk’s university is a partisan hack job because he thinks other universities are too liberal and his own school is a $hit show in terms of administration and curriculum already. Students won’t learn much there. We already know company towns don’t end well for those who live in them, but those who fail to study history are doomed to repeat it. His enterprises have raised the prices of houses in Bastrop County starting another wave of unaffordability for local residents. And now he wants to construct his weird sex compound for all his wife’s and children to live in. Musk is the poster child for all the wrong change happening to Austin. Signed: a born and raised Central Texas local.

Prioritize two goals: strategically sell stocks to limit losses and maximize gains, and be prepared to capitalize on market shifts. Consult a financial advisor or professional for personalized guidance.
Certainly, I've been consulting with a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) since the outbreak. Beginning with an initial fund of $80k, my advisor makes decisions on when to enter and exit positions in my portfolio, which has now expanded to around $350k.

Part of the reason he’s not in Austin proper is it’s just a couple steps behind the nonsensical politics he was escaping in California. By building adjacent to Austin, he gets access to all the positives of proximity without the headache.
am happy to see this video . putting in background work but i tend to see the finished part. Fear is a dangerous component, hindering us from taking bold steps we need in other to reach our goals. you have to contend with inflation, recession, decisions from the Feds and all. I was able to increase my portfolio by $289k in months. You have to seek for help in the right places.
I don't think the Fed actions will cause collapse, but I do know abrupt and irreversible climate change certainly can. And it's already begun. And not to add to your misery fear, but the impacts are accelerating and will get worse.
The best course of action if you lack market knowledge is to ask a consultant or investing coach for guidance or assistance. Speaking with a consultant helped me stay afloat in the market and grow my portfolio to about 65% since January, even though I know it sounds obvious or generic. I believe that is the most effective way to enter the business at the moment

Tesla is the most automated car factory in the world. Having the most automated car assembly line in the world would minimize the spread of COVID-19 compared to most other car factories.
@symbionese2348 here are some more detail. Austin sits on the recharge zone for the Edward's Aquifer. Austin sells the aquifer water to San Antonio. Because of the aquifer, Austin zoned east Austin for industrial development getting all the environmental and wildlife studies done in the 1970s. For the longest time east Austin was cement factories. The geology under East Austin is perfect for tunnels. This is why Austin is so perfect industrial high tech. Research university, water, power, airport. Very pro business, but still culturally progressive. It really is a chunk of the silicone valley in the middle of Texas.
Elon Musk’s vision for Austin and Texas at large isn’t just bold-it’s groundbreaking. What we’re witnessing is the blueprint for a new kind of future, one that shuns the overcrowded, overregulated, and stagnant atmosphere of Silicon Valley. Musk’s choice to build outside of Austin speaks volumes: he’s carving out a space that embraces innovation at scale. Whether it’s Neuralink, Tesla, or his reclusive "city" projects, the common thread here is room to grow-something California simply couldn’t offer anymore. Texas is a fertile ground for Musk’s larger-than-life ambitions, and I believe this is just the first glimpse of what’s to come.
He is NOT building in Austin as the city wouldn't allow the ways he intends to ruin Bastrop. Check back in 5 years 😢. I have a number of friends in Bastrop who are sick about what he is doing.
talking about cheaper living in Austin pre-covid was true. But, now it's starting to get expensive here too if anyone wasn't aware. Of course this is happening everywhere - but the average rent for a 1,800 sqft house with 4 bedrooms is formerly 1,625 a month.. and is now 2,400+. San Antonio is cheaper for rent, obviously dependent on the area... I know San Antonio is more ghetto, but I've been thinking of buying property there. You can find 5 bedrooms (even 6+ and 2k sqft) in San Antonio for 250k.. whereas this near Austin might be around 350-600k.
So LBJ was president and he let Nixon call Neal and Buzz when Apollo 11 landed? 😮 gee, i didn’t know that when I watched the event in the summer of 1969.
Many people have become millionaires in trading because with the leverage involved in trading, people can make a fortune or lose it all very quickly so you need care
Part of the reason he's avoiding Austin itself is likely because Austin has gone downhill dramatically in the last decade in every aspect. Traffic, crime, homelessness, housing and rent costs, etc and while it may not seem that bad to people who live in certain spots in Austin and don't commute and people who moved to Austin from somewhere like LA or Houston I can promise you its gotten very bad in comparison to what it used to be and also many of the issues Austin faces are going to be very difficult to fix seeing as its like the new LA politics wise and also the city isn't made in a way that allows for easy large scale construction especially road construction so with all of those factors and many I didn't even mention combined and the fact that those Austin issues are spreading out along i35 from Georgetown and Cedar Park (very top suburbs of north Austin) all the way to at least San Marcos which has man unique issues like how as a result of TXST collage the City's population literally doubles during the school season and thus most of the infrastructure is sort of weak/bad during the school season and over done outside of school season so anyway all of that considered I'd say he's just planning ahead and trying to hedge his bets and not make the same mistakes he did with California especially since that whole area from North Austin down to San Marcos, New Braunfels, all the way to South San Antonio which is probably a 2 hour drive without traffic is becoming a whole metropolis so again those problems for Austin and that whole area down to San Antonio are just going to get worse for at least the next 10 years or so and Austin will likely be the worst and hardest to fix even just because of the traffic situation and city design alone. Plus I have a relative that is/was very politically involved (both he and his wife were head of state agencies and held other high level local, state, and maybe some federal government positions and he broke the record for youngest ____ each time he moved up so yeah) and several others somewhat involved in that world and they're very no bs get it done type people and without doxing them or myself he is still somewhat involved in politics in Bastrop and was very involved until he finally decided to "retire' which considering he's retired from multiple high level positions just to get bored and get another I'd say he'll probably be involved somehow in this stuff but I haven't asked
He moved the HQ's for the tax breaks. The buildings are only 19 miles from the airport in Austin so it's very convenient. Idk what Elon's plans are. I just hope he Makes Austin Texas Again!
Tesla design center is still in Hawthorne. Tesla software guys are still in Cali as well- Tesla leases the biggest office space in Palo Alto just a couple years ago. Megafactory is going strong and ramped up to full capacity last year in Lathrop. Fremont still makes model S, Model X’s, Model 3’s and Model Y’s. Giga Nevada is still going strong and getting larger.
But wont be long before a complete corporate move. The only reason to stay in California is for talent retention...however, Austin is now a super hub of tech talent so why stay in California to pay more taxes and deal with liberal politics?
Alot of Californians think the California economy is insolated and impervious to external threats. Be careful, its not the first time politicians have destroyed a country or state's economic viability.
I will never understand how people think Musk is intelligent. His engineers (that he seemingly fights with non-stop) are the intelligent ones and he personally holds them back entirely for his own glory. Then again, this is par for the course with autocrats and dictators, they truly see themselves as the main characters of life. Musk doesn't want to grow, he wants to exploit. He wants a world where only he and his insanely rich friends can do whatever they want with zero consequences. It's the classic supervillain story, "what's your goal?" --- "to take over the world!" At the end of the day, just an evil person who wants to subject his will over everyone else. Rinse and repeat. The problem is... people tend to believe that ONE person is always the source of all things. Like how people of a nation tend to blame the Prime Minster or President when times are bad for them, they think that the main figurehead is indeed personally responsible for their own follies, when in reality it is more like a group of really rich people decided that they want EVEN MORE money for themselves and will stop it nothing to attain it. Make no mistake, Musk only wants a better future for himself and a select few around him... People who have known him all his life have frequently said he's always been this way, but it hasn't been until about the last 10 years that the general public saw the real Musk as a psychotic, power obsessed control freak who has zero empathy for literally any other human except himself. Not to mention, he is at the end of the day, the world's richest keyboard warrior. His purchase of twitter and then reshaping it into a failure of right-wing propaganda along with his insanely childish behaviour about it is showing HOW something run entirely under Musk does... It fails, it fails so hard that no one is willing to come in and help it... But to him it's worth it because he has his own personal microblog and he's the admin. Again, obsession with power. Musk doesn't care about you, he doesn't even know you and prefers it that way. He wants you to have kids entirely so he can replenish his wage-slaves roughly every 16 years, he wants you to buy his products assuming they were perfectly engineered and when you foolishly believe "his" cars can drive themselves and you die in a horrific wreck, he will either never notice your death or in other cases, actually promote your death on Twitter laughing at the idea (he has done this in the past with Tesla's crashing, showing zero empathy for the person who died, or their family OR even a message that this is totally unacceptable and needs to be fixed). But no one listens, they don't care... The tech bros who love Musk are obsessed with him because it's their fetish too... The idea, the thought, of being so rich that you could just continue trolling the entire world all for your personal entertainment. You have to understand that the people who look up to Musk WANT this for themselves as well. They feel that by following the cult leader, they will be bestowed SOMETHING for all their loyalty, right? You won't , you were and are his wage-slave, and for the people who actually have to work at his companies, my god, he has zero qualms about openly firing the actual people he depends on. He doesn't know your struggles, doesn't understand living paycheque to paycheque, doesn't worry about basic living expenses, all those things are HILARIOUS to him, your life, your real real life, is an absolute joke to billionaires. You exist solely to be exploited by people like him.
I was born and raised Texan, and I’m glad Elon is here and doing great thing but I noticed that the more success we get the more trouble our cities become. We are humble folk down here so people outside of Texas can come in easily and take over which is not in the best interests of native born Texans. That’s all I’m worried about but I still wish Elon lots of success!
I feel ashamed that I didn't realize Enron Musk is a complete fraud until about 2016. That was 8 years ago. How do people still not know? He makes bold and exaggerated claims; he lies. He scams. He has lots of dumb stoners, old and young, seduced with his futuristic space talk. It's ridiculous. Silly. Depressing. He's milking the stock market and lots of people are just falling for it. Bamboozled. Fooled.
Isaacson didn't like working at CNN. He says he didn't fit the culture and couldn't function properly there. I've read several of his books. He's a great writer and is much more comfortable doing that.
Isaacson's book is useful BUT he focuses more on Musk's personal life and business ups and downs and does not give proper justice to Musk's technical achievements. Yes I would say it is more of a CNN or MSNBC read. Other biographies give Elon proper credit to the achievement side of his life. The book accurately reflects the political slant of Mr. Isaacson. (Hope the author is not offended by the misspelling of his name.)

Bastrop is not a “suburb” of Austin. Bastrop county has several towns and small towns in Texas have their own identity, history, cultures. The Californian and wannabe Californians, from wherever, Ohio, etc. would benefit from learning some things about Texas that make it great, and some Texas youngsters could learn that too. Example would be, though perhaps unarticulated likely because it’s just taken for granted, a kind of individualism, of the sort that generally transcends the groupism or collectivism that California seems prone to. Labels are not as important as the heart or soul you’re talking to. Thanks for the video, might be a little misleading, or perhaps a little clueless. Elon seems to be getting more Texan by the day, at least he is always open to learning.
Can part of that plan be getting Austin to build a better zoo and a real ethical aquarium? The Austin aquarium is a side show that should be closed down, and the zoo is only a low budget rehab zoo. If you wanna see good educational places like museums, zoo's, or aquarium's you need to travel 2+ hours from Austin.

When you say taxes are lower in Texas, you obviously don't include property tax. Buy a $300k house, pay $1200 a month for the payment and $1000 a month for the privilege of living in it. There is, however, the thought going around of doing away with property taxes, so there is hope.
Where are you paying $12,000 a year in taxes on a $300,000 home? I have 3 houses and do not pay anything close to that in North Texas.
@@sidvicious6505 His numbers might be off but Property taxes are theft in the end after enough time has passed.

This story started in the 1970s when Texas pre-zone east of Austin. West, north, south Austin are regulated for construction.
Do you know what you are talking about? I don't.

Texas is a fertile ground for Musk’s larger-than-life ambitions, and I believe this is just the first glimpse of what’s to come.

talking about cheaper living in Austin pre-covid was true.

We called these "Company Towns" back in the day.

I didn’t click for a recap of Elon’s childhood, I’m just interested in what’s going on in Austin.
Elon could build a city from Austin to the Louisiana boarder. It was all zoned in the 1970s.

@@danharold3087 Nixon is also better known for Watergate and resigning in disgrace. Nixon also ordered an airlift to resupply Israeli losses in the Yom Kippur War, a conflict which led to the oil crisis at home.
Lived in austin in the 80's my favorite town
Spent a couple months TDY in San Antonio/Lackland circa 1970 - Too Damn HOT! Then experienced a Norther, LOL.

Hey, does anyone know how to get in contact with Elon musk?
OMG! Seriously, we don't need Elon running that AI of his to find the answer to the great question of the universe, life, and everything. We already know the answer is 42.
Especially love the starship in downtown Austin pictured in the thumbnail 😂😂 Don't believe there will be any launches there 😂😂
Do you have any idea how much $69 trillion is?! Or it is your dream number?
It's a joke, my dude. Chill out
Bastrop is not a “suburb” of Austin.
Wasn't Johnson but Nixon, when we landed on the moon.

Exactly Elon musk is making a traditional city into a fucking cyberpunk town
Politics not land is why he moved.
3:29 SpaceX is mispelled as SapceX lol
Very interesting. I live in Austin and did not know a lot of this information.
+Илон - самый значимый человек нашего времени!!!!
May just turn out to be Trump.
He also stopped in BC to work at a logging camp i know this because i ended up working at the same one and saw pictures of him on the wall
bro is solidifying his cult with a compound 🤣
Yuppppppp

Imagine you and your family living in a house and town totally owned and controlled by the company you work for. A company controlled by Elon Musk.
Better behave yourself, not call out anything wrong, keep quiet about any illegal work practices, or try to protect workers rights, ask for better conditions or be any kind of whistle blower. And hope Musk doesn't decide one day that 80% of the town is not needed anymore because another State has better tax breaks for his company.
You don't seem to know Musk very well. He's not evil.
@@billweberx oh my God 😆😂🤣 You obviously don't like to read the news very much.

The time, changes every week . Austin is still a small city really, one big event like ACL or F1 and its crippled.
Amazing content! Thank you
