    Great video. I've only done FOX in the past so I wanted to see the difference.

      Hi Bike Na Vida, thanks for your message and support of our channel. From your message it sounds like you have a non-metric 109 x 51 rear shock and would like to change the stroke to work with a newer metric frame (190 x 40) Firstly I recommend getting the correct shock for the frame as there are some differences other than just the stroke and the air can is different as well. However if you are not able to get a new metric shock then you can reduce the stroke in the shock but you will need to de-gas the shock, clamp the damper shaft in soft jaws, remove the shock head and add a 10mm spaced to reduce the stroke. This is a specific spacer that we machine up to fit correctly and work with the damper main head. If you do not have the nitrogen or tool requirements for this this I would not recommend attempting the work. Rather send it to a shock service Centre for the correct work or purchase the new shock.

    • @bikenavida6215
      @bikenavida6215 2 года назад

      Hello, thank you very much for your attention and guidance, the shock is new, its original dimensions are 190mm x 50mm, and I need to leave it with 190mm x 40mm, I think I will send it to a specialized service in my locality.

    Hi Rob, I have old Dt Swiss SSD 210. It looks like it losing pressure after a week. I can not find new one and used too :( Your service procedure should be similar for the SSD 210? One more challenge will be finding where i can buy a set of gaskets...
    By the way, do you know if I can find a replacement for SSD 210 which will fit to my bike?

    • @RBC_tech
      @RBC_tech  Год назад +1

      Hi Beniaminkubiak9815, thanks for your message and support of our channel. So the SSD210 is quite different to the M212 and has a different seal kit and we do stock these still and have some parts still available. My suggestion is to inflate the shock to 250PSI and put it in a water bath for some time to see where the air is coming out. if its a small leak like your message suggests its possible that the shock needs to stay overnight in the water. You should then look for small bubbles coming from the shock or adhering to the shock if the leak is really small. So once the leak is detected you can decide how to fix this. My recommendation is a full service including the damper, and this needs to be done by a technical service center that has the correct tools for the job. Keep in mind that this could become more costly than just replacing the shock with a new unit. Please feel free to email me on rbcbikes@gmail.com for more details.

    • @RBC_tech
      @RBC_tech  3 года назад +1

      Hi Gerasio, thanks for your email and support of the channel. For the shock service please check the serial/model number on the top of the shock near the lockout, this should say either M210 or M212. DT swiss did a running change for Scott on the M210 mid year so its always good to check for the correct model number number. For the air kit the service should be the same, the M210 kits are divided into air can and damper kits which are different to the M212 so make sure that you check and confirm the model number before you buy the seal kit.

    hello, how to calibrate the damper of the M3 dtswiss, as it has the valve but it has no connection to my emptied and now I can not regulate the indentation and is giving final course

    • @RBC_tech
      @RBC_tech  5 лет назад

      Morning, there is a valve in the lower damper unit which separates the nitrogen charge from the damper oil. Special tools and skills are required to open and service this part of the shock. The IFP is charged to 400 psi and this is a dangerous pressure if you don't work correctly and in the proper manner with the right tools. I recommend that you take the shock to your closest DT Swiss service center for assistance. Where are you located and I will advise the closest service center to you.

      @RBC_tech  4 года назад

      Hi Javilos999, thanks for your message, your bike was the first of the new Scott linkage design and has a 190 x 50 rear shock. the previous (2011) year had a 165/38 . If you cant fix your DT which is a 190 x 50 then a shock of the same length and stroke from RockShox or Fox will work. However the remote lever will not be compatible with either and there is a possibility that the shock tune is not correct for the Scott's leverage rate. My advise is to have the Nude2 repaired.
