I think the soap did it that way to prove that ridge and Brooke are so in love it doesnt matter if kids are between them or not; it basically shows how deep their love is for each other ; I was a Tridge fan but the soap makes it pretty obvious that Brooke is the one he truly loves and desires - IN love, not just love
