I get so upset with the food waste in my clinic, to the point where at the end of the week when we clean the refrigerator ,I’ll take the food home. My employees are always so confused by this.
School lunch isn't all that determines how much a country values its youth. If you're not aware, I suggest you look up the schooling system, cram schools and entrance exams in Korea, and what a typical day in the life looks like.

Lobster is so abundant in the US on the east coast that it used to be served in prisons. Artificial scarcity is the reason for their high price, as in most things.
Countries with that kind of care to their students ensuring that kids will perform well not just in their everyday lives but their performances in school.
If my mum found out that my school was serving lobsters she would definitely send me with containers to take as many lobster tails as possible and bring them home 😂

I'm so jealous about this lunch, quality aside, I'm even jealous more jealous that it's fresh. In my school, the lunches seem to come from a factory in who knows where, which get shipped here, and honestly look and taste like cold but heated microwave meals, and that is coming from the person who has eaten AMAZING microwave meals.
I'm more than sure that's a special lunch like once in a month or half year and obviously tails are limited, so you wouldn't be able to have a whole plate...

For context I live in Oregon and we eat seafood more in the west towards the pacific coast, but the more east you go the more cattle farms you run into, and the diet changes out from seafood to beef and other type of animals from a farm. The point in where this change happens is also roughly about on South Korea into the state (Oregon is about twice SK’s size), so maybe you guys just have the perfect ratio of distance between your shores and inner most lands.

I grew up in Germany, this is absolutely wild to me. The lunches I had in school were overpriced and I can’t even remember a single meal that I actually enjoyed. When we were served meat it was absolutely always dry, and they’re out here eating cheesy lobster tail?!
