Great video and crossing! Love that absolutely classic install, glad to see it's managed to remain pretty much entirely original since it was installed! Admittedly, I've managed to snag a good few crossings over here in the US that are/were near-fully original installs like this from the 1970s as well, I think the oldest installs I've ever filmed that were still nearly original like this were a trio of ACL installs down in southeastern Alabama that I believe were from the 50s and/or 60s. Of course, I've also managed to film a good few signals over the years that are a fair bit older than that... The way the lights there operate when deactivating is also pretty much standard for a number of crossings here in the US, especially for more modern installs.
Thank you very much! Mk.1s and Field and Grant barriers (and maybe some bells) are the only things we have here that were installed anything close to the 50's and 60s!
You would probably find that they are more common up here in Scotland as we are usually last on the list for any upgrades etc. That being said this box and many others are on the list for closure over the next many years unfortunately. Hopefully the box with be held onto. Nice video!
I consider myself lucky to live within a 20 minutes drive from here as it’s a very rare-to-find crossing with the halogens.
Wow I have never seen this crossing remain like this for so long! It’s a good thing it’s still like this though! Excellent Videos! 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you very much! It's second only to Sherburn-in-Elmet, but this one's special as it's still a proper 'road' crossing
@@SouthEastLevelCrossings Yeah. 👍🏻
Excellent video and crossing 👍
Thanks!
Great video! Absolute gem.
Thanks very much! Absolutely
Amazing! This is easily one of my favourites in Aberdeenshire. If not, my number 1 favourite! And that odd little alarm malfunction in closure 2!
Thanks very much! It's a cracker.
Nice video 😊my friends fantatic fantatic 😮Greeting 👋🏻
Thank you!
Nice video, that alarm glitch was strange in Lowering 2!
Thanks! It was

great video. I like how they haven't changed the wig wags to LED's yet
Thank you! It is remarkable how long it has lasted with the halogens
Such a lovely crossing, would love to film this at some point!!
Scotland in general is a must-visit if you can get there, and this crossing is a definite highlight!
Wow what a unique crossing and what happened with the alarms on the second closure?
The power to that alarm appeared to have been cut briefly, though I could not say why.
Nice and lovely crossing! Seems that theres an issue with the alarm on the second closure.
Thanks! Both's supplies seem faulty, as I saw a video where the dead one started sounding randomly after the barriers were stopped.
Love this crossing, hope it stays original & kept just as it is, if it aint broke dont fix it! gorgeous signal box, Pretty village, fab catches.❤😊👍
Thank you very much! Apart from the alarm cutting out, everything seems in very good condition despite its age.
Looking at this crossing is like watching a video from 2009-2012
Indeed it is. A great era.
Nice 😎

Nice one, this crossing seems a bir faulty with the alarms turning off all the time
Thanks!
How this hasn't been upgraded yet, I don't know why.
It’s my area
Nice video! Also what happened at 3:30
@@SouthWestCrossingsUK Thank you! I have no idea what caused the feed of power to stop like that.
