Great news!!! Boyd Packer made an offer to the Community of Christ to buy the Kirtland Temple, in 2000, they considered it, but rejected. Now, the CofC church is deeply in debt and near-bankrupt, so they sold the entire Book of Mormon translation manuscripts recently, and now these today. The Kirtland Temple is in very poor condition, needing repair and remodeling so happy the Church can do it justice.
I visited Nauvoo in 1981 with my wife and a pair of sisters. You could visit the Mansion and the Brigham Young Homes then. Also one member bought his ancestral home in 1966 and began restoring it to be comfortable for him and his family. It didn't take long for him and the crew to decide to make it like it was when it was built. A few years later with my in laws we visited Nauvoo and the cemeteries where one or two of her mother's ancestors or their children were buried.
Kirtland Temple mission was as a conduit *_from_* Heaven to receive keys. The Holy Temple's now are conduits *_to_* Heaven to bind Heavenly Father's Children to Him one by one each in at least seven different ways.
Yes, there is. It is so awesome! It is not so much a translation as it is a correction of the Bible. Joseph Smith was instructed by the Lord to correct some of the things that had been changed or left out of the Bible. The Community of Christ Church has had the book for sale for a long time. They call it the inspired version.
Leave it to the authorities they dont want us to gloat over it or cause contention it was prophesied that the lds would obtain it when we pay our thithing the lord said He will open the windows of heaven and poor us out a blessing
@@derrickcox7761 that may be true for the last few decades but I'm not sure that is true throughout the history of Mormonism. That seems a little superstitious why would a temple become undedicated simply by the passage of time?
That is very nice of the community of Christ to agree to these sales. I wish them well.
God bless the Community of Christ who for many, many years took good care of all those buildings, and documents.
I am grateful that the Community of Christ church was willing to entrust these things to the LDS church. I am sure that it was hard for them.

The reason it was the price sold is there were other competing bids for the property and artifacts
The only way that the Kirkland Temple could be used for Temple work is for it to be completely remodeled, it will stay a history sight
Kirtland

This is great
Marvelous news!
Any guesses on which GA's will give their conference talks from the sites?
Maybe Rusty?
They are building the Cleveland OH temple in independence Ohio temple which is 31 miles from Kirkland Ohio
Red Brick Store to some consider it the first temple kind of. It's where JS and others worked to develop the temple endowment ceremony.
Ether 3 has and had elements of The Endowment since 1828/1829.
@@rconger24 Good point. Also I should not that Washing and Anointing was practices in the Kirkland Temple.
Cleveland is only 30 mins from Kirkland

Yes, it contains a few additional paragraphs, but mostly, there are only slight changes based on Adam Clarke' s Bible commentary.

I don’t think it was theirs to sell.
It was. They have done an amazing job care taking of everything
Re-dedicated ??? WTH!
So being dedicated by JS is not good enough for you?
An odd comment. Several temples have been re dedicated by the current leadership.
All temples are re-dedicated every ten or twenty years or so.

@@TheCulturalHall well if the current leadership is doing it that's all we need to know right?

Hmmm. That’s some serious cash…
Lucifer--"You can buy anything for money."
Not really...... He would like to make everyone believe so........
@@carolyearsley "have you any money?" Why is that the part I remember?
@@dub61 An yes! Thanks for the reminder.
The church has approximately $200 billion in assets, which includes real estate and stocks. This was peanuts.
