I see what you're saying but isn't that setting the bar kind of low? To be hated by this preacher, all one has to be is a rational thinker, or not a member of his church, or not white, or not a male, or not the same kind of Christian he is, or not straight, etc. Eventually he's going to be the only guy in Heaven.

I'm hugely old now (approaching 80!). Many, many years ago, long before youtube and long before the internet, a friend and I were discussing ideas about ways to make money, that could be fitted around our careers and other important committments.
We decided that starting up some sort of 'radio broadcast' salvation church would be a simply brilliant idea, but - although we did some serious research into commercial broadcasting licences etc - we could not bring ourselves to actually do anything about it, because it would've been nothing more or less than lies and deception; taking money under false pretences was not something either of us were interested in.
Not long after that, we started hearing about these weird 'pastors' in the US who had their own radio stations, mansions, jets etc and felt that although we'd missed out on a golden opportunity, we'd kept our integrity, which was far more important to us in the longer term.

I'm sure Shelley is aware that his role is to voice and justify the bigotry that pollutes his community. Everyday people don't usually voice opinions like, "I have a raging bias against certain people for sociopolitical reasons," so hate conductors like Shelley step in and vocalize those dark undercurrents in order to get clout they can't gain through pro-social means.
For hate preachers, the projection element likely becomes involved when they assume that atheist thought leaders mirror their own behavior on the other side of the ideological divide, when they demonstrably don't. Atheism isn't performance art-it's a mental state that arises from learning, growth, and introspection. Fundamentalism of any variety critically lacks those elements.

Yeah that was really dumb, and I actually look a little better now because I couldn't kick poor habits like drinking and eating cheeseburgers until after I became an atheist. Something about feeling "fated" to have substance abuse and self control issues turns out to be related to neurodivergent traits and there seem to be ways to get myself more productive and healthier although it's still a struggle. Though I did deconvert from being an evangelical around age 20, it took me a long time to get rid of the bad thinking I learned in church. Also, I love how these guys constantly claim anyone who supports trans people must be anti-science, when the science is what initially convinced me that my old, ignorant, bigoted Christian beliefs on the matter were wrong (as for being a Christian overall, the Bible is what convinced me that was also wrong). Science *overwhelmingly* supports the existence and legitimacy of trans people. The average conservative can't understand that, because (as pointed out in this video) they don't understand the scientific process or its value at all.
As Neil deGrasse Tyson says, when scientists sit down to debate an issue, they come with the mindset of "Either I'm right, or you're right, or we're both wrong." People like the pastor in this video come to a conversation saying, "I'm right, you're wrong, and you'll burn in hell if you keep disagreeing with me." Gee, I wonder which of those stances is more anti-science, anti-knowledge, etc?

Baha’i doesn’t believe in hell, and about atheism, or more generally “irreligion”, it says:
“If religion and faith are the causes of enmity and sedition, it is far better to be nonreligious, and the absence of religion would be preferable; for we desire religion to be the cause of amity and fellowship. If enmity and hatred exist, irreligion is preferable.”

@@EETMySheetNah, Islam is pretty straightforward with its hate for the most part. Christian hate masquerades as love. See, we don't hate you. We just hate what we call your sin, because you're going to suffer eternally for it. Our hate is born purely out of love! We want you to not suffer eternally, all you have to do is join our cult!

Wow, congratulations Hemant! You know you've arrived when preachers do sermons about you personally. There's no such thing as bad publicity, or so I've heard.

That "minister" is a prime example of a purely prejudicial person. First he "pre-judges" a HUGE sector of humanity, then he starts name calling. How utterly juvenile! I have nothing but pity for him, _AND_ for his grievous ignorance.
*EDIT:* After watching that "pastor" a bit more, where he starts tearing into the supposed "physical appearances" of atheists, I started to laugh. Between the two of you, *_HE_* is the one who is *overweight, **_HE_* is the one who *seems unhealthy,* and *_HE_* is also a person who *appears GREEDY!*
I honestly believe that at some future date *_HE_* will "be caught in a compromising situation," specifically: in a gay relationship. I certainly don't care a mite what he _DOES_ with his "doinky parts," but *I DO **_CARE_* about hypocritical speech & behaviour, *_AND_* about broken promises. If he has a spouse (a biological female, of course), AND has any children, _THEY_ would be the ones I'd be concerned about. *CHEATING and LYING are "BIG NO-NO"s in **_MY_** world!*

Brilliant Video Hemant! Thanks for sharing. I simply cant even comprehend how wilfully ignorant and openly hateful this guy is. Its truly sad. Actually it is tragic, as tirades like his influence his desperate flock.

A friend, who is an atheist died. When st. Peter asked what his religion was, "none," he said. Good, the old man told him to enter the pearly gate. Inside he asked the guard why most of those before and after him were turned away. "We don't accept priests, preachers, church leaders, and those who cling to their guns and bibles. They can adapt more to life in hell than in heaven."
