Thank you. Very well done. As another commenter said, I’m discovering (fresh) figs later in life (50 ish). Regretful that I haven’t been growing them my whole life but am definitely going to make up for lost time. And what better video to get me off on the right foot. There are many videos for learning to grow but none this well done about what to grow. Much appreciation, my friend. May your days and figs be many.

This is my first time enjoying your RUclips channel. Great work! I’m looking forward to more great content from you. Thank you so much for this informative video! I got so much out of it. I would love to espalier some figs up our southern-facing three-story back wall to our house. I probably have enough room for about 5 feet plants. I wish so much that I could taste the figs that you’ve listed, but it looks like a fantastic list from the literally zillions of varieties available. If you were to pick five of the best, which would you pick? I live in Center City Philadelphia which I believe is zone 7b? Though we sometimes have an excessively cold day of sub-zero temperatures, we are in a very protected area-kind of a large courtyard style conglomeration of several town houses nestled between two streets. I think the trees would get a lot of protection from the cold here. Let me know what you think and thank you so much for your fabulous content!
I'm trying to identify my lost tag fig I think it's a brown turkey or Chicago hardy. I live in federal way. It has 3 and 5 lobed leaves and grows a crop of crackly purple small figs with red inside that ripen in fall and sometimes freeze first. The berba figs fall off in spring and don't ripen. What do you think?
Hello Ben love all your video that u post , I know u have so many varieties of figs. Possible could u please like to sale some cutting of Golden Riverside , I just start growing fig for a second year and in hot weather in Florida .
I would love to know which of these will grow in ground in the Seattle area. I'm a bit south of you and want a fig orchard but do not want to mess with potted figs. It would be great if you added this information next year! Thanks.
Dear Ben Greetings from Puerto Rico again, hope this message finds you well. I just got to see this video today and find it very interesting. As on the past I would like to ask you for your help. I would like to ask you if you could send me some cuttings of this varieties you are showing here. I ask you since I don't know how to get the best of the figs varieties you already know. Your help would be greatly appreciated. I do have one someone gave me and I don't know the exact variety it is and I do have a tree I would like to share with you if there is no problem with you so you may check it out and let me know what variety is, when you find out. I sent to you some pictures but you weren't sure what the variety was. Please let me know.
Great video, Ben! How cold hardy exactly is the Golden Riverside you have? Zone 8? 7? 6? I just bought one on ebay. Thanks for your contributions to the fig world.
Is there any way to save a fig cutting from mold? I bought cuttings and did the lasagna method and they molded. I think i forgot to put holes in the container. I cant think of any other reason they molded. It was the Black Madeira ones that I bought. I'm trying to save them. I switched over to the 2 plastic cup method and that seems to be working for most but the Black Madeira are still green but they seem to not be making buds like the others.
I would like to plant a Golden Riverside! Im staying in the costal south, hot and humid weather, could plant them in 5 gallon pots at the corridor. Would you send me a Golden Riverside cutting? I would pay for the cuttings and shipping. Where i am, we do not have green honey figs imported. Its really a pity. I saw Lou Monti's figs videos describing Golden Riverside as Golden Rainbow, no? Please PM
What about brown turkey and black Genoa? Are they really basic figs? As they are all that’s really available here (Aus) (unless I want to go crazy hunting around). What are your thoughts on these two varieties?
