It’s always a bit sad to see the end of an era, and this is one of them. The Chrysler 300 had one hell of a run, but it’s bowing out with the 2023 edition. That includes my special send-off tester, the 300C, marking the last year for the modern version of one of this automaker’s iconic models.
In this final year, you can still get the 300 with its 3.6L V6, making 292 horsepower (and 300 ponies in the 300S); or with its 5.7L V8, cranking out 363 horses along with 394 lb-ft of torque.
But the 300C exclusively carries a 6.4L V8, churning out 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. The automaker notes that in cubic inches, it’s a 392 - and that’s special because back in 1957, the first car to bear the "300C" name also carried the automaker’s first iteration of its 392-cubic-inch V8. If you’re a Mopar fan, you know there’s a lot of history tied up in all of this.

I was lucky to get a red one. I hesitated for a few days after 3 months of waiting. But now that I have it, I am so glad I did. It is the last of a generation for sleeper dad cars. I had a 2014 Cadillac CTS-V sport with 425HP. It handled better but the 6.4l is a sight to hear and feel. It's a chuckle every time I start it. I won't drive it much. Look for me to sell it in 4 years with low miles and a good owner. My only mod is a K&N filter.

Well go buy some real good actuators and have them put it in and have the new old ones taken out or you will be a very upset customer

I ordered my 6.4 two years ago when finality of 6.4 300;was announced and Chrysler Corporate and dealer were excellent about follow up and ordering etc. They even sold for list at $55,000 plus destination with no mark-up. Chrysler got the message. Only bad thing is not AWD. Will it appreciate? Probably not, but it was a great buy.

It's a beautiful beast but as soon as the actuators from the air conditioner brake people start getting rid of them no matter what it is not end of an era😮

People rather pay 34,000 thousand dollars for a new car than mess with an actuator of a built-in dashboard nightmare.
