    Thanks for the review, especially for pointing out the Made in China part. I bought a $35 light jigging rod locally here in Asia that came with a rod sleeve and two velcro ties. Even caught bonito on boat trips with none of the marketing and trademarked components...

      Pretty much 90%+ of rods are made in China these days. Most USDM Daiwa and Shimano rods are made in China. My Shimano Poison Adrena is made in China. The main exceptions are G.Loomis and Edge Rods. My honest opinion is made in China rods are just as good if not better. Case in point, I spent $400 on an Edge First Strike, to begin with overall the rod is heavy, much heavier than a standard 7' Heavy from say Daiwa for example. On top of that, it is extremely tip heavy. You want to balance it with a heavier reel such as a round reel, but that makes the whole outfit just too heavy. Point being is made in USA doesn't necessarily mean is better.

    Thanks for your insight, once again. Like to know which JDM shop you buy poison glorious 1 piece casting rods from? Just tested an adrena 1611m+ but it’s a little too fast. Now, I’m going to get the m rf JDM versatile instead.

    When you speak of NRX, is that a reference to a G Loomis model ? I am an old dawg, but, I can learn new tricks.😜🎣😜

    Not at $100 price point but gen 1 phenix recons came with a sleeve those were 180-200

    NRX is Loomis tech in a Shimano jacket.

    The best value JDM rods are Valleyhill and Majorcraft.

    Hey man, was there ever a field test done on the Jackall BPM rods? I am currently looking at them, I like the details and style with the reel nut design and matte look. I can see the guides are probably not so great, but what about action wise? Their 2 piece BPM in bright orange looks pretty dope too.

    • @THEREELTEST
      @THEREELTEST  5 лет назад

      I recorded a parking lot sensitivity test vs the Poison Glorious and I didnt feel any difference between them. But the audio was messed up. action seems mod fast/fast. good rods for the low price they go for. I fished them both in the Kastking fishing vids

    • @Rascallucci
      @Rascallucci 5 лет назад

      Is there much tip or is it quite stiff? Alright, man. May be I will give it a go. I am kind of curious about the Evergreen International Combat Sticks too which are currently on sale at American Legacy.

      Only $139.99 right now. I guess you must be after the 7'3" MH. It is backorderable. I will most likely go for the 7'3" H (the non-glass version).

    Do the NRX vs Glorious test. I'm pretty sure the Glorious is supposed to be more comparable to Loomis' new Conquest but I could be mistaken.

    • @THEREELTEST
      @THEREELTEST  6 лет назад +2

      Actually the Conquest takes the blanks directly from the Poison Ultima it looks like. Ultima is the top line shimano bass rod in Japan.

      THE REEL TEST you said you were gonna test some reels out this weekend, how did that lews go for you? You a fan or nah?

    • @THEREELTEST
      @THEREELTEST  6 лет назад

      I tried to do the senko portion of the standardized test for 3 reels, It was way too windy to get accurate results, but I did get a few measurments for the speed spool, very impressed with the casting so far. Ill try again soon.

      THE REEL TEST but the other stuff I heard is problems with the drag. Tactical Bassin said he had 4 of the lews tournament Pro ($300) and every one of them had a broken drag. Another guy said he had a lews Pro Z and the drag just broke on him.

      Favorite rods seem to be a generic ever green rods. They bigger tackle shops around me won't even sell them for that reason lol.

      @ismaela.6973 6 лет назад

      THE REEL TEST if it's made in China. I can't see why it's that expensive regardless the materials they use. The cost of labor is pretty low than Japan

      But it's a pretty nice rod. To be honest I'm waiting to get the megabass hyuga for as a top water/ jerkbait rod :P

    Bad news. My 7'-6" XH Poison Adrena is also made in China!- Stamped in silver just above the handle. A lot of money for a China rod! Can you only imagine the mark up? 500%?

    • @turbod4646
      @turbod4646 2 года назад

      Bruh, Poison arena and lots of other daiwa shimano high end are made in China. It doesn’t affect it, it’s a high quality rod coming from Shimano. China is no longer the cheap labour it was before mate, they are catching up to us the US.

    I feel for US made rods that st.croix higher end rods have beautiful fit and finish. I have a legend x casting and that rod is beautifully made. I also own an NRX and yes i agree fit and finish is alrite but is a benchmark performer for sure.

    • @manifestgtr
      @manifestgtr 4 года назад +1

      instantjizz
      The legend x is my current favorite in the high end category. I love that tip, it’s nicely made, the cork is amazing, the guides are top of the line, it’s light, balanced and sensitive. I still like my nrx for certain high caliber feel situations but the legend x is just a nicer rod.

    • @instantjizz
      @instantjizz 4 года назад

      @@manifestgtr yah I wish more US manufacturers start making more effort into aesthetics of a rod along with the performance my Shimano and at.croix rods look the nicest my gloomis by comparison look pretty plane look wise.
