Welcome to my channel In this video we will walk around the Alcazaba fortress. It is located on the slope of Mount Gibralfaro near the sea.
Around 600 BC The Phoenicians and Romans lived here, on the southern slope there are remains of a Roman city, and on the western slope they built a theater, which we will also see.
During the Muslim period, ALCAZABA was used as a fortress, built in the 8th and 9th centuries. The fortress is perfectly preserved, there are beautiful fountains, landscaped gardens on the territory, behind the inner wall there is a palace and other living quarters where the rulers lived, and there is also an archaeological museum. In 1487, the fortress was captured by the Spanish kings Ferdinand and Isabella, and the Christian period of development of the fortress began. It will be an interesting walk. You can also take an elevator to the fortress.
