I've never seen any anime ever but I CAN say that Damien calling Shayne the "final boss of BYU" is one of the funniest roasts I've ever heard in my life.
@@devilmayclarify666 I'll try: BYU is Brigham-Young University, a college famous for its association with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons). Especially in this context, they tend to have a very clean-cut, all-american good boy type-of look, and Shayne (white, blonde, blue eyes, traditionally handsome) definitely fits the part. Being the final boss (like the BIG bad guy at the end of a video game) would mean that Shayne, out of a group of people who all have the "look" (people have joked about the Mormon "look" before), he fits it even more so.
For the Inuyasha question, Ify was technically right. The word chosen to activate the beads of subjugation is "sit", Kagome just says "sit boy". It is shown many times in the anime that she can simply say "sit" and the beads will activate.
I’m so glad about the Dropout mention because this game turned into an episode of “Um, Actually” about half way through complete with a “Get in the comments” style call to action from Ify and Erica.
Have to say, as a long-time InuYasha fan, that both "sit" and "sit, boy" are both acceptable answers as Kagome uses both phrases to activate the prayer beads to subdue InuYasha. Both in the Manga and in the Anime.
iirc the full phrase when first cast is "sit, boy!" but there are multiple times when Inuyasha is pissing her off that she just goes "sit! sit! sit! sit!" and you see it repeatedly activate. So clearly sit technically counts, and while I screamed at my TV the full phrase, Iffy deserved credit.

As a long time anime fan, i love this ep. Definitely needs a part 2 and i suggest another category called "fan favorites" and just ask the fans for their favorite details/scenes/topics whatever to add in.
I mean to be fair on the Inuyasha question, in Japanese Kagome does in fact say おすわり (osuwari), which purely means “sit”. The boy part was just added in the dub (Probably to add syllables for lip-matching purposes).
To be fair to Ify, Kagome just needs to say "sit" in order to control Inuyasha, without the ", boy". There's a scene where she rapidly says "sit-sit-sit-sit-sit" and Inuyasha just gets cemented into the ground.
In the Japanese anime, the command is osuwari which translates literally to 'sit' with the connotation of being said specifically to a dog. 'Sit, boy' is a culturally appropriate translation into English but I think Ify should have gotten the point, because he could have heard about any number of translated variations of the phrase.
If there's a ep. 2 in the making they should prepare for differences between Japanese vs English. "Sit" vs "Sit boy" was the deciding factor on who won, and both were correct. Also Shayne looked lost for a couple of seconds as Damien said Golden Wind, which is the name incorporated into the theme song.
With the Inuyasha one when it was said "it's worth 200" i thought they wanted "Osuwari" and not just sit boy. There were multiple instances in the anime where Kagome only said "sit" so it was correct.
@@angelmoon33 Kagome always only said sit (osuwari) the boy part was addd by the dub. In this case all 3 (osuwari, sit, sit boy) should have been accepted.
This episode is hysterical, but Spencer saying "that's Boruto's Dad" (18:34) made my boyfriend and I cackle the most. Would love a part two with questions from Naruto, Naruto Shippuden, Seven Deadly Sins, Jujutsu Kaisen, or Sword Art Online as those are some of our favourites (that weren't mentioned, like DBZ and AOT lol) 😆
If you guys like mainstream anime based on your faves, I recommend Spy x Family, one of the most wholesome anime I’ve ever watched, it has a interesting, immersive, and amazing story/plot, and has some great action scenes as well. Good show if you are in a relationship :D
Smosh has been THE content for me lately, everything else just feels old and boring, and my GOD the cast and crew in Smosh are all so amazing. Thank you all for the hard work to bring people like me this content!
Gundam WIng was popping off at my college, so even if I wasn't a fan of Wing (UC till I die) and haven't seen anything Wing-related outside of a few episodes, I knew _exactly_ who it was.
at 14:52 Because japanese don't have an L sound, translation's are made sometimes where an R and an L are switched, so "behelit" and "beherit" most likely comes from a difference in translation (possibly due to reading manga vs watching the anime)
I'm so glad this trivia is more challenging. Ify was technically right for the Inuyasha question because in Japanese she just says, "osuwari" which just means sit. "Boy" is just added in English because of the syllable difference between languages. I recommend in the future trying to avoid answer technicalities that can vary between if you watch subs, dubs, or are fluent in Japanese.
also there are PLENTY OF TIMES in the dub where all she says is "sit" and it works. I even distinctly remember one time she was really mad at him and said just "sit" over and over again
I was going to say this too because inuyasha is my childhood favorite and I auto answered "sit" and when they said it's a 200 point question, I was like, "what, they want the Japanese word for sit??" 😅
actually at times kagome did just say " SIT " but the command was originally in fact " SIT BOY" because she was told to give him a command and well... he's half dog demon on his mother's side in fact i remember an episode where she repeatedly says sit to stop inuyasha from blocking the well with a boulder
@@amoraswiftstrike3791 yes his father was a DOG demon so kagome used "sit" a common command for a dog also why his older half brother sesshomaru can turn into a dog form in the early episodes ( he seemed to have lost the ability after inuyasha sliced off his arm and even after he regrew it in final chapters he never took the form again to my knowledge)
@@az639 * facepalms * that's effectively what i said even giving a reason why she made the command that the command for what "sit" does to inuyasha could have been anything heck she could have probably said heel lie down etc basically another common command for a dog and it would have done the same thing
I enjoy all Beopardy episodes, but when I say this was my FAVORITE episode, I mean it. Pausing the video constantly to calm down after laughing, restarting and rewatching. This has been a delight, thank you
I’m gonna be real, I’ve seen all of 2 animes, maybe 3, and this STILL ranks up there on my Favorite beopardy list. The energy is hilarious and golden!! Made me laugh so many times. Such a good episode!

Plus even in the English dub they use both "Sit" and "Sit Boy" interchangeably. Episode 11 has Kagome unleashing a barrage of "Sit" commands.
Legit, this might have been the funniest episode yet! I laughed the entire way through this! We definitely need a Part 2!
This is the most fun Beopardy ever! Even Shayne is laughing like crazy.Everyone's competitive and opinionated lol😄
I don't even watch anime so I don't know any of the questions/answers but I agree! The vibes are just so good. So funny, loved it.
We definitely need a part 2
I mean to be fair on the Inuyasha question, in Japanese Kagome does in fact say おすわり (osuwari), which purely means “sit”. The boy part was just added in the dub (Probably to add syllables for lip-matching purposes).
All 3 answers (osuwari, sit, sit boy) should have been accepted.
I immediately said osuwari when the question was asked
as a dub only watcher, i was incensed they didn't accept Ify's answer
I NEED a part two and more. This is by far one of my favorites
And the award for the most unhinged Beopardy goes to….
I was dying this whole episode 😂😂
“Over the eye, under arrest” might be my new favorite Damien joke 😂
Ify’s “Leave Al out of this!” followed by Damien’s “YOU CERTAINLY DID.” is WILD
Ify, Shayne and Spencer in a video together makes this one of my favorites automatically. I was cackling
So happy to see Ify is back!
They tried to steal her One Piece answer, but in the end it was Asuka that granted her the win
To be fair to Ify, Kagome just needs to say "sit" in order to control Inuyasha, without the ", boy". There's a scene where she rapidly says "sit-sit-sit-sit-sit" and Inuyasha just gets cemented into the ground.
And he woulda won with those points! Justice for Ify ✊
In the Japanese anime, the command is osuwari which translates literally to 'sit' with the connotation of being said specifically to a dog. 'Sit, boy' is a culturally appropriate translation into English but I think Ify should have gotten the point, because he could have heard about any number of translated variations of the phrase.
@@randomnessocity i thought the same thing xD
"This is going to be friendly till it isn't." Was really the tag line of this episode
The fact that they had a sports anime section without a single question about Haikyu is a travesty.
The arguing is EXACTLY what I expected from an anime trivia episode. 😂
I never know "sit boy" was a thing cause the JP and my local dub had literally the same meaning with no extra words
@@angelmoon33
Kagome always only said sit (osuwari) the boy part was addd by the dub. In this case all 3 (osuwari, sit, sit boy) should have been accepted.
I want a 1-on-1 anime trivia battle with Ify and Damien.
Please.
"you look like the final boss of BYU" has got to be one of the funniest insults damien has ever come up with omg
Damian telling Shayne he looks like the final boss of BYU damn near killed me. xD
Smosh has been THE content for me lately, everything else just feels old and boring, and my GOD the cast and crew in Smosh are all so amazing. I love everything I see from you guys and this video did NOT miss the mark. When Spencer said "Fruits Basket" i was in literal tears laughing. Thank you all for the hard work to bring people like me this content!
The "sure, we're all still friends" energy is strong with this one.
That Heero Yui one has me dying. I literally slammed my desk cuz i knew it and how dare they not know it
I know, I died a little when no one knew it.
Gundam WIng was popping off at my college, so even if I wasn't a fan of Wing (UC till I die) and haven't seen anything Wing-related outside of a few episodes, I knew _exactly_ who it was.
Shayne had so much fun hosting this 😆
idk what's funnier spencer calling Al "FMA guy" or gon "hunter deku" 😭😭 please do a sequel to this one i really enjoyed it!!
coming from someone who lives in utah, “the final boss of BYU” is a line i will be using from now on 😂😂😂
Any episode with Ify has to be good. WE NEED MORE IFY!!
at 14:52
Because japanese don't have an L sound, translation's are made sometimes where an R and an L are switched, so "behelit" and "beherit" most likely comes from a difference in translation (possibly due to reading manga vs watching the anime)
Damian and Ify just fully freaking out is just gold in this episode.
Can we talk about how Damien's hand lives on the buzzer in every episode he's on
I'm so glad this trivia is more challenging.
I would have given it to boh answers because both versions can be heard in english season 1 🍻
I was going to say this too because inuyasha is my childhood favorite and I auto answered "sit" and when they said it's a 200 point question, I was like, "what, they want the Japanese word for sit??" 😅
Justice for Iffy ✊
@@liltenshi39 I cracked up because, same! 😁
“You look like the final boss of BYU” 18:42 as someone raised in Utah that is fucking hilarious
actually at times kagome did just say " SIT " but the command was originally in fact " SIT BOY" because she was told to give him a command and well... he's half dog demon on his mother's side in fact i remember an episode where she repeatedly says sit to stop inuyasha from blocking the well with a boulder
hes half demon on his father's side. his mother was human
@@amoraswiftstrike3791 yes his father was a DOG demon so kagome used "sit" a common command for a dog also why his older half brother sesshomaru can turn into a dog form in the early episodes ( he seemed to have lost the ability after inuyasha sliced off his arm and even after he regrew it in final chapters he never took the form again to my knowledge)
also in the original jp dub, kagome says "osuwari" which translates to "sit" so ify's technically correct lol
No the command was always just sit because in Japanese Kagome says osuwari which means sit. The boy was added by the dub.
@@az639 * facepalms * that's effectively what i said even giving a reason why she made the command that the command for what "sit" does to inuyasha could have been anything heck she could have probably said heel lie down etc basically another common command for a dog and it would have done the same thing
Hands down the best episode so far. PLEASE do more like this! The chemistry was amazing and definitely the same cast or even add someone.
I came on to say the same thing- this episode had me cracking up and was just really fun to watch!
I love seeing how all different kinds of people openly love anime these days. Makes me happy.
This was such a good episode. Damien and Iffy arguing about anime is the best.
I enjoy all Beopardy episodes, but when I say this was my FAVORITE episode, I mean it. Pausing the video constantly to calm down after laughing, restarting and rewatching. This has been a delight, thank you
We need a part 2 with more theme and genres! This was so fun to watch 😂😂😂
I’m gonna be real, I’ve seen all of 2 animes, maybe 3, and this STILL ranks up there on my Favorite beopardy list. The energy is hilarious and golden!! Made me laugh so many times. Such a good episode!
Oh hell yeah, anime nerds fuckin love anime so you know it's gonna be a spirited competition
I love that Shayne says animes, even thought the plural of anime is just anime.
Iffy and Shayne just mesh so well together lol. Anytime they are in a video they always do something funny as hell
Damien in a rage for points calling Shane the final boss of BYU destroyed me
This was a blast to watch. It actually felt competitive, which made it soooo much more enjoyable.
My favourite is called Erased, murder mystery with a bit of time travel. Highly recommend. Starts a bit slow but sets up a good story.
Never knew how much I wanted Damien and IFY competing
