Thank you so much for sharing these videos. I am a map geek so I like to follow along in Google Maps with your narrative saying where you are so I can "see" these places. I live in a small river town in the Minnesota River valley and we have an old mill/restaurant similar to the one that got flooded in Damascus called The Feed Mill. Best wishes to everyone in Damascus!
@@beckymarchand7477 Thank you for the best wishes. This town will rise again out of the dust and dirt, but it's gonna be a rough rest of this year and winter. I think it's cool that you follow along with the maps app!

Man that's a heart breaker & I'm sure insurance will never give enough to replace it hell it's un replaceable that ain't made no more hope ya had some extra insurance on it ? Makes me wanna cry to see a classic like that all the blood sweat & tears put into that damn hope ur lucky enough to find one as nice or better !
@@leoguy1609 The insurance company claimed a wind clause on one of my friends businesses. So no coverage despite the fact that all of this damage everywhere was ultimately caused by flooding. A lot of people in Damascus don't even have any flood insurance.
@@elperro3683 Damascus to Abingdon has been open since the first day or two. You can also get here from Shady Valley and I heard that you can drive the road between Damascus and Laurel Bloomery after 5pm. One lane sketchiness for sure tho. Gonna check that out soon.
@@harolddenton6031 Tamara is awesome! I gave her a stuffed rooster plush for her decorations. Their shirts are the best. I have several of them. I miss me some Wicked Chicken. Gonna have to go there soon. Check out the robot chicken they have there the next time you go. It's hilarious.

The Damascus diner the oldest restaurant? Do you mean left standing?
@@Cdm2890
If you look again I actually said, "One of the oldest." The Old Mill should be open again in a week or two.
So have found out even with flood insurance, the insurance companies aren't willing to pay their claim. It's called Bad faith insurance.
