I guess what America won't understand is that Australia has the largest Greek community outside of Greece.
Back in the 50,s they were called wogs as a derogative term.
The wog community embraced the term so well that mainstream Australia embraced its culture as an important subculture within Australia .
The wog culture today is loved with pride by all good Australians as part of our national identity.
The world could learn alot from Australian wogs and how they turned racism into love from embracing an insult and turning it into something we could all admire.
If an American presented themselves as a "seppo" ( ww2 term given to Americans, short for septic tank , full of sh$%)
They would instantly garner respect in mainstream Australian culture.

You need to know "wog" means non english speaking migrant, usually southern european or middle eastern.
Speaking English or not has nothing to do with it. A Wog was a term for a Greek or Italian Australian.

Wog is a derogatory term given to immigrants predominantly from Southern Europe, after Australia abolished the White Australia policy in the 1950s. Since then, some people of this ancestry choose to use this term to refer to people of their kind, mostly in jest, but it could still be offensive if others used it. Context is key I guess. These guys are putting on extra stereotypical "wog" accents and are kind of going with the stereotype in poking fun at themselves by their behaviour. Its probably a little confusing for foreign audiences to get the context, as this doesn't really represent how most of our run of the mill police behave. It is more of a parody if that makes sense.
The term "Wog" is actually an acronym and derives from an old term used of "Western Oriental Gentleman".

Nonsense... the word was reappropriated long ago and no longer is perceived as a slur. Those of a southern European background wear it proudly.
