In this episode, Judy and Puppet evoke the sounds and flavors of Italy by crafting the perfect Aperol Spritz!
Judy crafts the classic pre-brunch or dinner cocktail, APEROL SPRITZ, while Puppet offers his humor and assistance.
The main ingredient for this cocktail is APEROL, which is derived from the Italian word for Aperitif - Apero - and meant to stimulate the appetite before a meal.
The list of ingredients and recipe for making APEROL is a well-kept secret, but it’s known to be made from the oils of sweet and bitter oranges, gentian root (herbie and native to Europe), cinchona bark, rhubarb and multiple roots and herbs, with a specific bitter taste.
It’s the perfect choice for brunch with the girls, for ladies who lunch, or any time one wants to enjoy a light, refreshing and made for relaxing, cocktail!
SHOPPING AND RECIPE GUIDE
1 bottle APEROL
1 bottle Prosecco
Pellegrino sparkling water
Ice
Blood oranges for garnish
Cocktail Pitcher
Chilled Wine glasses (2)
CRAFTING THE COCKTAIL (a pitcher for 2)
STEP 1: GATHER THE INGREDIENTS
1 cup APEROL
½ cup Prosecco
A good splash of Pellegrino (or other sparkling water)
Blood Oranges for Garnish (naval oranges will work if you can’t find Blood Oranges
STEP 2: MIX
Add APEROL, Prosecco and water into a chilled glass pitcher
Mix, then pour into chilled wine glasses, filled with ice
